From what I know you can recover off of certain stuns/staggers by holding guard button and rotating your stick, but there are higher level stuns that you can not recover from. There was a video that mentioned this but I can't remember what it was called.
Any way I just hope the balance Doa5, cause it was stupid how certain characters don’t stand a chance vs others. I'm a Bass player and I understand that he was top in doa3 but to rape him so much that he can't do shit against skilled player that use ninja's is bull shit.

DOA 3.1 was probably the best one, that had a good amount of things in it... Unfortunately, the whole sidestep thing was apparently a glitch, so that, and some other things, got removed in DOA 4.

I just beat Chronicle mode in DOA: Dimensions and I think it leaves an opening for DOA 5.

Long time ago, I remember seeing DOA3 Japanese matches. I thought they were very entertaining. It was an enlightenment because people in other fighting game community bash DOA series for mashing the counter and what I saw was far from that.

Anyone have links to high level DOA2/3 matches?

Team Ninja Interview
This interview tells that there WILL be a new DOA game, I pretty much figured that since DOA: Dimensions had a cliffhanger ending of sorts at the end of Chronicle mode.

I would like to see a new DOA, but I really don't know if Team Ninja are capable of putting together something worthwhile. While I haven't personally had a chance to play Dimensions, from what I hear they did some major dumbing down to what was already a relatively simple system. If that's the direction they want to go in for DOA5, I don't think I'm interested. If they went back to their roots and made something that felt more like DOA2/3 however, that'd be a day one purchase for me.

Lol, well, don't take it personally. Me and DOA4 have a bit of history, so anyone who puts DOA4 on the same level as 2/3 is bound to rub me the wrong way. I could explain in detail why DOA4 is the worse game, but it's been done dozens of times already, by better players than me.
