Dead or Alive 5 Announced for 2012! PS3 and Xbox

Sounds like they gave Sarah a new line. I hope they did the same with the others.

I could have sworn that was intentional since it was referencing the same typo from a previous iteration. Correct me if I'm wrong <.<

 

OMG!!! I love that guitar music!!! Glad it's back!! I like the costume of Ein where he's topless and has shackles... Sounds weird but you got to see it to know what I mean!!! haha

 

You can't team up Jacky and Sarah in VF so its really cool to be able to use them as a team. I do suspect Jacky and Lau will be the only additional Virtua Fighters.

 

Going by some info on amazon jp it looks like one VF girl will be joining Jacky in DOA5U... I would kill for Eileen but I think Aoi is the safest bet. Can't wait to see her new face

 

Im looking forward to this. I can only play games at night when my boy is asleep and I cannot use my stick because its too loud. DOA is ok to play with a pad. I have been messing around with 5 for a while and its good throaway fun.

Somehow when I play VF its always serious. I get irritable and sweaty and I hate myself for being so clumsy. with doa I can just switch off and enjoy the game. I picked up lisa and its such a easy character to use, 1PK, 9K, 7K, easy moves that give you options to bait holds or crush lows.

 

If they are going with the original VF cast, I can see them adding Lau or Kage next. Wolf or Jeffry would surprise me. But if I were able to pick I would choose Aoi or Vanessa since they would blend well with DOA.

 

I used to love the broken Engrish of the earlier games. "New Costume Get!"

 

Yea I noticed that. Seeing as how they only used the original lines from VF in the first DOA5, them recording a new line for Sarah actually has me excited for VF6.

Would Sega/Team Ninja really pay the Sarah voice actor for one line in a cameo in another game?

I actually heard Sarah said a new line in the original DOA5 when winning a tag team match with one of the VF characters, I forget which one?

Any chances we will see more outfits for the characters besides original ones, like Costumes D and E, and (hopefully) costumes from past VF games.

Would really like to see Sarah secondary VF4 outfit make it in this game, I know it's a long shot but hey, u never know?

 

That would be cool if they gave more costumes to the VF characters too... Although it still doesn't make up for the fact you can't customize them in DOA On the other hand everyone TN touches turns into a goddess so whatever

I love the improvements they've made to the character models, which I suspect involved alot of collaboration with AM2, and might give us a strong hint as to what we can expect in VF6.

 

Yeah when Sarah was first unveiled in DOA5, she looked more realistic, one person said she looked had a more asian look to her, but her hair was so much more realistic.

 

Let's keep in mind that DOA5 is a game from 2012, while VF5 came out in 2007/8(?).

According to this link, the NA release date for DOA5U is Sept 3rd.

 

Models are over any comparison- way better than in vf5, Pai and Sarah look much more attractive than in virtua.
New lines for Sarah? Maybe they had some in a "backup" so they just used it? Although it's always nice to see some improvements.

They should give more interaction between Pai and other fighters, she has no tag throws with anoyne besides sara and aki. Something with Leifang, or Genfu could be epic

 

There was an interview with Hayashi where he talked about, they only touched up the face and hair, but the models were from VF5. Trying to find it now.

EDIT: I remember reading about it a SRK but can't remember it now. Did come across other threads though, and the VF hate in general, is a lot stronger then I thought it was, lol!

I like Sarah's model in this one and her VF5 CG portrait the most.

 

Well the models are from the hi-res models used for the character select screen from VF5, not the in-game models.

They then modified the character polygons, would get sega's approval, sega would send back what needed to be altered, fixes made, get sega's approval, send back what needed to be altered ("push in the chin a bit more." etc.), fixes made, get sega's approval, ... approval given.

 

They were CG portraits right? Not full 3D models :/

Looking at the DoA5 models, what Femto said made sense.
