Edit: Im thinking if they wanted to debut a new "Doa character" they would want to make thatt character come stock with doa5Ultimate and not some download add on. It knda makes sense for it to be a char. from another series then, and since it seems like they are slowly trying to merge VF with Doa...
Edit2: And then I was thinking well since its going to be released over in Japan it could be some completely new character that no one's heard of, but on second thought I dont think Tecmo has time for that (building a new character from scratch)

 

Is this game really worth it honestly as boring as I found DOA5 originally. To me the only redeeming factor it might have is that it has my eternal DOA main Ein in it and if I decide to give it a shot he will be the first person I try out I already i have a decent Gen Fu and Eliot on lock so I know I have 2 people to use just to play around with. If the rest of you PSN guys are playing it then I will most likely give another shot if I am playing with you guys specifically.

I really hope it is better than the boring version of DOA5 I played before. I will not play Pai in the game seriously either I prefer to play her in VF over DOA eventhough I wasn't that bad with her in DOA5 the few times I fooled around with her.

 

And for anyone who wants free costumes, tecmo has posted codes for both xbox and ps3 on their twitter facebook

 

You're on PSN, try the F2P version that's on the store right now. Give it an honest shot, go through the tutorial, and see what you think.

 

I'm waiting for the free version to come out on Xbox so I can try it for a while to see if I like it. I doubt I will, cause I didn't like the DOA4 demo that's out and I played the mess out of it to try and like it. But hey, ya never know. I didn't think I'd like SSF4AE either after trying SF4 for a few weeks (whenever that came out), and I enjoy SSF4AE a lot!

I like that they have a F2P version along side of the retail version. Gives people a chance to dig in to the fighting system without the risk of wasting money. Even if I/one might not buy it after a week, or even a few months of playing the F2P version. It might pull a player in eventually to buy the full version and any versions that come out in the future.

Only downside is you can only choose a select few characters which is completely understandable. If they could somehow make it to where all characters were avaliable ONLY for dojo mode, just so you can try them out, I think that'd be the ticket.. But this extra stuff is for another thread, sorry lol.

 

Right now, the ninjas are available (Hayate, Ayane, Ryu Hayabusa and Kasumi), as well Jann Lee and Hitomi until September 17th.

 

Microsoft doesn't allow F2P on the Xbox, that's why it's not coming out on it.

Found a command glitch (I THINK) for anyone who has it on both systems and could test it to help me confirm. I already mentioned it to @Sorwah in hopes he can confirm it and pass on the info to TN.

Gonna just copy paste what I sent him on Facebook.

I downloaded the PS3 version today and was warming up with Jacky when I noticed that it's INSANELY harder to do his 1P+KPP combo. Even when the command is perfect most of the time you get his P+KP move.

At first I thought it was my stick so I check a few times, but then I was convince it wasn't. To confirm I loaded up the 360 version to try out the same move and was able to nail it every single time without fail.

If you own both versions of the game or know anyone else who does can you have them test it and see if they get the same results.

Please let me know your results if anyone is able to test this. I downloaded the Core Fighter and just purchased Jacky since he is the only character I plan to use.

 

yeah i couldn't get any of them to work... My pre order came with the maid lookin pop star costumes. I want momiji ones...

just completed tutorial mode... Saying its extensive is an understatement!! Its very thorough.

@Rodnuts i feel the same way man. im using Akira, the same ish keeps happened to me . it seems doa is forcing u to play the guessing game with counters. if a doa reg knows your not going to counter the bullshit. they will keep stringing ( they dont get tired because the executions are too easy.) learn her combo hit properties med, high etc. to counter.

 

Some questions:

1. Is the online still ass?

2. Is the game still VF if someone put the frame data through a random number generator and got rid of 50% of the mechanics?

3. Is the frame data counter still busted?

4. Am I going to get in trouble for trolling?
