Yes, they just won't be able to select the characters online against you unless the have purchased them. But you are free to select whoever against them.

Damn.... I couldn't have summed it up any better than this. I especially loved the part about false disadvantage which is the current hurdle I'm having with the game. Because chains seem never ending or they don't provide much advantage for blocking the whole thing often I find myself trapped and only trying to interrupt with just a select few moves. If I try anything else it's usually to slow and just gets crushed or stuffed. At that point I just freeze and hold block because I have no clue what else I can do.

Anyway, I still like the game so I'm gonna keep trying. Hopefully something clicks!

 

Hi guys, i havent play doa5 yet. i dont have an idea about the game. Just to ask you. Is doa5U worthy to buy it? I like fighting games to be balance and generally easy to pick up. So what about DOA5U? Is that type of game or is too chaotic or unbalance? Thank you!

I like it because its fun - unlocked an "OMG" setting for the breast mechanics and it is hilarious!!! Hahha

Anyway, maybe you should read reviews and look up some gameplay videos and visit DoA forums - like FreeStepDodge. Form your own opinion.

hehe I truly don't understand the learning curve, but despite that I don't regret buying it as I was with vanilla. The game is really, really fun. If I could just play it's rock, paper, scissors game as well as I could VF's then I'm sure I would enjoy it 100 times more.

 

ooops apologies. I didn't mean don't ask. But it sounded like you knew almost nothing about the game and you were going to decide your purchase on whether people on this forum tell you to or not. Its best to do a little research then ask around. But I guess the other way around is ok too.

 

Yea, i dont know anything about the game, i will research in forums and here and then i have to decide. Also i noticed yesterday that there is a DOA5 demo in psvita. So i will download it and see.

 

I have yet to play a Jacky player... But I have made someone so mad that they switched to Alpha... And still lose! Muhhaahaha anyone able to do all of Ein's combo challenges yet? I'm stuck on the pen ultimate one - linking 3 rising kicks into the 66kkk. I've tried doing 2•k,2•k,2•k 66kkk. I've also tried doing 2•k, 33•k,2•k 66kkk. I will figure it out though!!!

 

You forgot to add IF YOU CAN GET THAT CRITICAL BURST.

But yeah if you do and it's a light weight Jacky damage be looking sexy as hell with mucho style points.

I need to do some more combo training. On day 1 I was landing double iagiri kick combos like it was nothing, but now I can barely do one.

 

You have to crouch dash into a rising delayed Kick each time. the 33_ pushes you closer so you can land that 66K, and the 33 cancels the 5 frame crouch animation into 1 frame. Even then, it's still frame specific to land that 66K based on distance.

 

Ugh, I need to get the full game. I feel like breakin' out some Bryant family tag team action. Double flip kicks for e'erybody!!!

Had my first rage quitter on Doa5U today, it takes like 30 seconds of freeze screen before a message comes up telling you they've quit (and awarding you the win). Also enough time for me to snap a pic! MUHAHHAHA

the game feels ok now but the core mechanics(especially 1v1) feels random. game also doesn't feel to deep at all. im having doubts about this game when it grows past 6 months but for now WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
