Yes that's exactly what I did. Because for some reason the full game unlock is not shown on the main page, I had to dig for it o_O

But, Sony is cool like that and gave me a refund. :D

Aight I'm done! The infinite stun potential of Helena, Lisa (it's like every hit stuns as she is running and flying all over the damn place), Lei Fang and Hitomi did me in tonight. Seriously I don't see how TN is going to make new players such as myself stick around and play this game over a long period.

Some characters just have this super stun game that is just above ridiculous. And the worst part is they stun you for massive damage only to knock you down into a force tech and then right back into the stun vortex.

Man it breaks my heart because this game could be so great if they just simply adjusted some frames. Characters are attacking and attacking and attacking and attacking and before you can even get off a punch they right into another string. Side step is wonky because mad shit tracks although it looks straight as hell. Seriously the whole side step thing needs to be adjusted because Hayate and Rachel have regular moves that comes from a command side step that works better than the game's universal side step. And the lastly there are these moves like Rachel [1][P][P] that seem to magically go under MIDS! Like WTF man.

Anyway, gonna finally play Tomb Raider now!

Wow, that Jacky video made me want to play this game. I won't...but still!

I just think of the stun system as every characters attack is Jean's 66P.

The easy way to deal with the heavy stun of this game, is using holds...sadly.

I'm not sure how you guys are losing to holds.... I've not really had much problem with holds. Maybe you're not thinking when you're playing?

The problem I get is Rachel and Christie. I hate them two!!

PS: New costume DLC is out! Which I've downloaded already...

Well said. People appear to understand what your trying to do too well. They`ll use attacks that magically destroys your mid attempts or high punch attempts. Its clearly because my opponents have a better understanding of the game than I do. Also I can`t free myself when I`m critical stunned. Most of the time people can power blow me/power launch me because I can`t catch them with holds.

When I critical stun them I can never get to red critical stun because they counter so unbelievably well even though I`m never using the same sequence of attacks.

I really need to hold/counter better it will help my game tenfold. When they start bating hold attempts they get high counter throws I think its called? You can escape them by doing a low hold attempt so that the throw whiffs.

I`ve noticed a lot of shenanigans to. They will use a string that will finish with a little kick to the shin. Then they`ll pray on your want to jab/mid them out of there follow up attempts by leading with either attacks that eat high strings or your fastest mids.

Although I`m being owned at least I have an idea of there doing. It`s a pretty fun game and I`ll be playing it more.

Maybe you aren't playing good players who think very well? Seek out some expert players to test how well your leveling of thinking / attacking holds up.

And how did I forget to put Christie on the list of infinite stun game. Punches look like elbows, elbows look like punches. Honestly I think she has a fourth layer of attack other than High, Mid, Low. It's called IN BETWEEN!

Hmmm... I'm not claiming I'm a great player, I'm about average but I don't see holds as the biggest problem of the game.

I've played some very good players who have annihilated me in seconds. But it was never due to them "abusing holds" but they were just better than me.

@CheekyChi my post you originally commented on was not about holds. It was about stuns and how they can feel infinite from some characters like Christie, Lisa, Helena, etc :D

Tutorial is really solid, but I would've liked the option to change characters for demonstrations as well as the CPU opponent for practicing against stuns. This way you could get used to various characters two-hitter stun attacks as a quick go to reference on what to generally look for.

For the most part I dig the game, but can understand the complaints. Stun is part of the game and I think it's easier for people coming from other fighters to see what they should be going for and looking out for, so it gives them a visual cue of what to look for.

Does anyone here have any tips on how to battle tutlers? It seems like whenever I play Sarah it seems like she can't really do a lot?

I agree with choosing character part. I hardly play Hitomi so it was difficult to do certain things.

i would casually play doa5 game with a friend who only played doa and i feel like you really need to learn to slow escape to get through stuns. i remember reading the guide and it saying the more you slow escape the faster you can recover from round to round but i never tested this out or know if it's in doa5u. slow escape doesn't work on some stuns like the sit down one but i think by the time you get hit by that you can't do anything anyways. treat it like getting hit with a stagger in vf.

usually the stuns that are unholdable are really slow so you either got hit with it as a meaty or aren't slow escaping the previous stun hit.

also your setups shouldn't always go for long stun setups into critical stun blah blah blah. you have to do things like bait hold's and throw, or just launching them after first stun hit so you don't give them more guesses to hold or slow escape from.

doing more lows and throwing are what i usually do to open up a turtle who just wants to stand and guard your highs and mids. lows are more useful compared to vf since most on hit would leave you negative where in this game alot of them will stun on normal hit which would make your opponent want to actually block low more or go for low holds. normal throws are i think 5f and are breakable where command throws are alot more frames and are unbreakable.

i think the game is ok but i like vf too much to invest more time in it.

throw and use lows more. yeah, turtling seems to be somewhat of a weakness for Sarah, but its the same for VF. Sarah's throws and holds are weak, and her lows are pretty bad, but the idea is get them to stop blocking and intimidate them into pressing buttons so you can get a counterhit.

Actually, I try to use Sarah's 6K+G for that reason, and I've seen people slow-escape out of a sit-down stun. It really pisses me off, as that ain't easy to get in the first place, and then people get rewarded for making bad decisions as they are able to block my punishable launcher in time due to slow escape.
