its already out in the uk... Not sure about your country...

I really like the new combo challenges. I think it helps give me an idea of what moves can be chained together. Especially for characters I don't use. Its a good starting point.

I meant ultimate as a whole could have been offered as DLC, sorry if I phrased it funny. I find it frustrating that rather than tighten up the game in terms of frames, which could have been accomplished with a DLC patch (like BB for example) they had to create a whole new version because 'the game-play was just too different'. it is not so different.

Maybe they could have introduced it as choice of supers like in SF3: either choose PB for set damage or PL for a chance of dealing more damage but harder combos...(sorry, just throwing out ideas).

It would have been OK for me to pay for new characters and new costumes, even pay for a version upgrade that normally comes free(as I said, BB), but here I feel like I paid too much (£25).

I don't think you can compare it with BB updates. The changes were pretty much frame changes and new animations overwriting existing ones. It didn't come with new modes of play (abyss, for example). Even then the updates were massive!! The DLC + updates might be too large (if it was possible).

I bought it today. For the time being im enjoying it. Jacky feels stronger than in FS here. lol his combos are insane. Iageri is too easy to execute compare to FS. :p

He's actually quite a bit weaker than FS, cause his frames and guarantees aren't there. Also his damage is still less, i don't know if Jacky can do 200+ damage of one CH 6P+K in DOA5U. I do think Jacky is much more fun to use in DOA, for me that is.

Game is massive fun and the best DOA they've put out imo. Glad to see the community whining hasn't resulted in ridiculous patches yet... Dat Rachel stomp is da sweetness ^_^

What do you think about bounds in 5U? Question isn't directed to anyone in particular

Bounds are whatever. I saw them becoming a thing once they popped up in VF5. Sure enough Tekken followed suit. I just saw it as another to extend damage. SC and DOA5 were the only ones that didn't follow suit.

I like that TN went with the VF5FS version instead of the VF5 one, as I prefer it's animation. DOA5 has some ridiculous juggles, so maybe it didn't need it? Either way it's here do the guys playing this competitively, better get used to them and utilize them.

I feel inept because I felt the exact opposite about Akira's combo challenge-It felt borderline sadistic to me...That damnable Alpha-152-specific combo you mentioned took the cake. lol

Here's a player from FreeStepDodge clearing it:

Ironically, the KNEES aren't the hardest parts of the challenges, but rather the instant-Double-Palms...If there's one thing that you'll learn from the combo training, it is how to do that-and well. lol

Based on a tip I found from a player's post from FreeStepDodge, [4][6][3][P] does the trick for the Double Palm in the Alpha-152 combo-and it was the only buffered-Double Palm that I had success with in doing the combo...[4][6] During the KNEE animation and holding down [3][P] immediately afterwards.

For some reason the GBoD was much harder for me to do on this game than VF and that took a while too...Anyways, I'm glad that nightmare is over. lol

I'm also deeply grateful to have found assistance from experienced DOA-players who have helped me out a lot in understanding DOA better and how my two mains that I've decided on-Akira and Kokoro work there.

    Team Baji-Quan FTW! :D

Instant double palm in DOA5 is 'half-circle back, forward, punch' for me.

    [6] [3] [2] [1] [4] [6] [P]

Look at the video you posted and you can clearly see that he does the same buffering, rather than [3] [3]

DOA is more lenient in terms of execution and you don't have to hold down like VF.

    Accidentally, Akira [2] [6] [P] [P] can be executed as [2] [3] [6] [P] [P] without the need to crouch.

No, you're right-that method of DP works too, but I couldn't get it to connect in that Alpha-152 combo for some reason...and what worked for me was [4][6][3][P] an idea posted by a player on FSD other than the one who posted this video...I am on an old pad though, dunno if that makes a difference or not?

And the [3][3] method of buffering worked for me in the in the [6][4](Throw-Button)[2]H[+][K][P] combo.

About the holding down part, you are also correct, yet it seemed as if the DP had a better chance of coming out when I was holding down the [3][P] during the [4][6][3][P] method.

Thanks for the [2][6][P][P] bypass tip-sounds good!

Υea, you are right. i was wrong, just when i see these ridiculus stuns with these many guaranteed mixing strings combos with a result of 10 or more hits every vf character looks and feels stronger. lol

One thing to keep in mind about buffering is that, like in VF, perhaps the final direction and button press cannot be entered during the recovery frames of the previous move.

So [6] [P] should not be buffered into the knee, but pressed after. does it make sense?

Yeah, I see what you mean-I was wondering why I had inconsistency with the buffering at times...Thanks!

It should be an easy, pain free download. Just look for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Complete Edition/Game, or whatever it's called. It was $39.99 here in the U.S.
The Playstation store can be super annoying/hard to navigate, so I totally understand you, I have had problems like this myself several times..

I know, same problem here. As far as I know, only the disc version is available here :/ Everyone I know has it either from the US store or the disc.

No, the game is not available in Europe apparently. The only way someone has it in UK is probably a US PSN account..

As is the TRADITION, Europe is the butt-end of the world as far as games are concerned.. Games release here absolute last, and have the least add-ons available.

    Really?
Europe is cool, I have no idea why they would do that.
    That's terrible :(
