While playing some of the Japanese in DOA5 a year ago, we were teaching J_C_Akira how to play DOA.

At one point he asked, "Do you know how to pronounce that move's name in Japanese? (Referring to GBoD)"

I responded with, "No..."

He told me, and half-way through it I basically said "Yeah, no, I'm not calling it that." followed by "Do you know what they call it in English?"

"No?"

"G.B.O.D."

"Huh? G.B.O.D.?"

"Guard.Break.of.Death."

"... ... HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, yeah, that's a better name for it."

So yeah, I don't know what these people are talking about nerfs in 1.05, shit is godlike.

 

Patch notes are up... Mila was nerfed yet again. Exe frames were increased on moves, advantage frames decrease, stun on 7k decreased. So she's carried on the tradition of getting worse with every patch. Kasumi got nerfs, Jacky got buffed again ofc. Typical disgusting patch.

 

At least tina was untouched and remains pure !

 

She must not be a character people are crying about non stop. Marie Rose is already getting cried on, I hope people enjoy her before the serious nerfs come in on the next patch, from crying players that don't understand fuzzy, can't crouch block, and need endless macros to play a 3 button game.

 

I fought like 3 Roses yesterday and she seems simple/strong but not OP, but like you said DOA community is full of more cry babies than VF so they will shout for nerfs soon

 

It's funny how as much as folks were complaining about the new girls at the time (Mila, Rachael Momiji, etc.) absolutely NO ONE was complaining about the male Ninja shenanigans, even to this day but with the exception of Sarah everyone else got neutered in some way shape or fashion. Then again I remember quite a few Akiras and Jackies complaining about Aoi back in the day; a Lion user apparently wanting me (an Eileen user at the time) to let him win. Oh well, to each their own.

lol Well, if anything, looks like she got herself a slight touch-up.

As for my team, Akira got a slight nerf, but this is warranted...You could pull some real shennanigans with continuous downed 3P on an opponent. I've received my fair share of salt from that, so I guess it was time for them to put an end to that. lol

I regret buying this game.

 

I can't even try to play Marie Rose since i'm stuck at the title screen whenever I put in the game. I think the patch messed it up for me XP

Been playing a lot more and started learning everything from the ground up this time around instead of just trying to play it like DOA 4 / VF.

However, there is one thing that I just can't make sense of and that is why does so many DOA characters walk backwards faster than VF characters can dash forward? It's insanely frustrating and just doesn't make any sense.

I just played a Momoji who just back dash, sweep, back dash, sweep, throw a little 8 way walk in there with a random move for good measures, rinse, repeat smdfh! Occasionally I'd get in, but that's after chasing her and losing like 60-80% health. Once I was in she'd just take to the air with elite randomness. She is always gone by the time my attacks come out and if I use something like 66K she will just whiff punish after the back dash.

Really I wish TN or @Sorwah can help me understand why this is the way it is. The VF characters are good (well Sarah is exceptional but I don't play her), but why do they move like tanks compared to everyone else? Serious to all that play have you ever just walked around in dojo mode and compare the speeds vs the DOA characters? JahnLee is another one who can 8 way walk backwards faster than Jacky or Akira can advance forward (yes even using Korean crouch dash. I gotta work my stick meanwhile they just hold back lol). Seriously I need an answer or else there is no choice but to abandon the VF characters.

Fuck it I might have to go Bass like DOA2, DOA Ult and DOA 4! Even he walks faster than the VF characters and he is a heavy weight.

 

Thats y ddnt buy either vanilla or U. l got it from gamesharing lol. Best choice apparently
@Rodnutz its just like @steelbaz was talkin bout the fundamentals of this game. Thats what TN gets for believing everything FSD conplains about. The fundamentals like sidestep, movementt etc are f'd up yet there going to nerf characters 4 no reason like Jaxky's 6p being throw punishable. Forget that nonsense, this game's not good 4 casuals let alone tournaments
