    OK. I'll shut up.

By the way, stop calling me a troll and stop being mean to me. And if you've seen various Tekken 6 match videos. Then you'll notice it's THAT bad. Other than that, I'll stop. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

As always, VFDC members see the TRUTH! Good, now I could enjoy Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma on a "Real" console, my Sexy 3, Playstation BABY! Fanboy antics aside, this is a huge loss for Tecmo. They have no one over there now. But, homeboy should of ported games to the PS3, install base is way bigger in Japan then the 360. I hope he goes to SEGA*Shinobi* BELIVE!

Tecmo will be fine without that idiot. But I do hope that more of their games come to PS3.

Wow. This is pretty sad news considering that most of the games he made were pretty good. Let's hope DOA5 is good considering that DOA4 was rushed and a disgrace to the Dead or Alive franchise. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

A new Shinobi game would be great and looong overdo. Have Joe Musashi, Hotsuma and Kage as playable characters or something... but I'm off topic now. I'm wondering what Tecmo is going to do now that their main man is gone.

It does have at least three selling points:

    1) No Fireballs
    2) No Pandas/Bears
    3) No Kangeroos

I heard that a long time ago it had the same fighting engine as VF. Don't know if that is true or not though. Maybe just well wishing from the DOA peeps.

Yes, its broken, but its a good entry-level drug into the fighting community.

We need fighters like DOA, Tekken, Soul Caliber around. Just like the NFL needs college football and the NBA needs college basketball.

@masterpo-That was a good post, every fighting does have a place, that's true.

Also, yes, DOA did originally borrow VF's system to an extent... As I believe Yu Suzuki helped out in the original development of the series...

As far as Dead Or Alive goes, I feel that it's a fun series to play every now and then, but nothing to take too seriously...

My favorite of the series was definitely DOA 3, I loved using Hitomi and Jann Lee, me and my friends went at it on that game too much. lol

Itagaki leaving Tecmo is a little disheartening, but DOA will live on and possibly evolve into an even better series.

    Here's hoping for it...

To an extent? No, in an interview he explicitly stated he took it from VF (least he was honest). And no, Yu did not help out in the development of the series...I think you're confusing that with Itagaki's quote of saying he considered Yu his inspiration/sensei or something along those lines.

I don't see the problem with Itagaki leaving; he was so full of it and team ninja knows how to do the stuff anyway. Besides, what do we need DOA for; seeing as it copies VF, we just need to keep playing VF. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Good thing the DOA series is not as broken as Tekken(don't get me started on that series and its stupid juggle system and gameplay 'features')and Soul series (even though DOA4 nearly ruined the series and the hair animation was terrible compared to the previous main DOA games/installments). /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Tecmo paid Sega for the VF2 engine, which they used to build DOA. Then they ended up having to call AM2 back in to fix the collision detection issues that popped up when they were developing DOA2.

You mean the graphics engine? Or the gameplay engine? Or both?

It doesn't really change much concerning my opinion. Only difference is they paid Sega for it.

    The gameplay engine.
