dragon ball the movie - trailer (sadness inside)

I would have made this movie for free and it would suck less than what we have.

Same with the street fighter movie.

Live action is generally gonna suck when the original was a game or a cartoon but it can be pulled off.

This is another example of how to fuck up someone's childhood.

 

I never liked DB, so the fact that this is garbage does nothing

 

I know who killed the Dragonball movie...

It's going straight to DVD here in Oz from the sounds of it. I'd compare the comments to the Love Guru, I've seen trailers of that and that was hell enough for me. If it sounds Showgirls bad, I don't want to see it at all (like Showgirls, which I thankfully haven't) (though it might be unavoidable like James Blunt music and Jamster celltone fad ads). Like Seidon said, this is how to ruin childhoods, like Sonic (the one where he hugs that girl).

Showgirls is not nearly the worst movie ever, ever heard of Gigli? Coyote (ARGH!) Ugly? Striptease? Same stuff, in fact, they're bad redoes of it. And then there's DoA and Dragon Dynasty and etc.

Really, why this movie gets trumped as an example for a bad movie all the time is really beyond me, especially by people who haven't seen it, it's bad but it is not that bad. Striptease (and came out a year later, making it a bad copy) is way worse but everybody just bought into it anyway because it features Demi Moore (who's body doubled by Catherine Bell btw, not a bad trade at all if you ask me).

Showgirls is awesome because Verhoeven took that chick from Saved by the Bell and made a generation's boyhood fantasy come true.

Paul Verhoeven is one of the few, if not the only director to actually come pick up his (undeserved) raspberry award.

I even wonder if all those musical back-stage movies would even exist if Showgirls hadn't been made. Would Chicago have even be thought up?

I remember watching DBZ when I was younger and this isn't even close. If it wasn't for the name I would've never guessed it had anything to do with DBZ.

I just hope the they capture all of that great dialogue that they would have right before a fight.
You know, those long, back-and-forth talks about how who was going to kick whose ass the worst.
That was the bestest!
They could make the whole movie about 1 fight. 1 hour of threatening diatribe:
"I'm going to kick your ass!"
"No, I'm going to kick your ass worst!"
and a 1 hour long fight.
Oh and of course, at least 5 minutes of Goku powering up his Kamehameha.

 

Yeah, half of what I remember from Dragonball Z was people powering up moves. I hope the movie isn't accurate with that.

Ha ha ha, yeah. I liked how they had too constantly attain a new level of power. Then the villain would and then they would....etc

 

Dragonball was great. It was drawn out in the anime for a reason. The original writers need time to extend the actual manga but anyhow...I've laid turds that look more like dragonball than that trailer.

I saw photos of it, and I just cannot stand to view anymore. Though Steven Chow is taking part of the production, I will not be surprised if this movie will flop the box office. Also, I believe it will probably be an original story since we had seen a list of new characters.[/size]

 

It's "based" off of Dragonball and is not ACTUALLY Dragonball. They took the characters and concept of the show making a movie out of it. So if you're expecting some MORE DBish then you probably shouldn't waste your time /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

What the heck? They dont say the content of the subtitles at all. "Ich musste es Ihnen sagen" and at the same time in the subs: "blah blah at liveanimes.org" or something like that. Big lol
