There is always the Tokyo Game Show. Would had been awesome if TGS was back into doing their show two-times a year.

Its all just turned into a Big FN multi-billion dollar industry.
Most of the focus is not on games anymore, it all about makin money and shareholder profit. Once-upon-a-time games were made by gamers who wanted to play and share a good game (and make money too), now for the most
part its all about how they can milk your credit card 12 months out of the year. Ur lucky if there is some good game play in there somewhere. E3 was disgusting to me. It was just so Fn
corporate, it made me sick. These corporations are spending hundreds of thousands or millions hoping to make billions and they really don't care about gaming persay.

I hate to say this, but I've seen this play out so many times b4. Pretty soon, the game industry will be to expensive to break into. So the innovative upcoming gamer/small game company with new exciting ideas for games won't stand a chance. We'll be left with 1-to-3 big game publishers, and producers pushing bland gaming content for $99 a month ($49.99 a month new
member accounts) and gaming will be seen as something for the masses (Casual Gaming Takes Over)

And the true gamers will have to go underground bringing back the old stuff resurrecting the old-style consoles that require sticks. I suggest that you don't sell back the games you enjoy you might need them in the future.

To me this year's E3 marked the beginning of the end /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

Seconded. I wonder if the videos showcasing it were 'real', they might have been because there was half a second lag between the input and what happened on screen. Thats what I expect from it. Extreme inaccuracy of inputs and input lag. Wii that I have tested suffers from the same. Result is that I havent touched Wii for ages.

I don't think Sony was ready to unveil the motion sticks on E3 seems like they were forced to show that because of Natal.

During the presentation the engineer was very nervous as if it was an improv presentation. Also, software they showed was for demo and prototype purposes as they claimed.

The only neat thing I saw Natal do (fuck I hate that name) is replace a steering wheel in a racing game. It wasn't practical, nor did it look that great at it, but it showed that it had potential.

Also of note, I haven't seen it do anything you couldn't do with the Eyetoy yet. Granted I have done no research on it. :p

And your just now figuring this out? Sony been started this trend long before motion censors. The moment they wanted to turn everything into 3-D on PS1 we were assed out.The moment they use propoganda and Race cards to gain exclusives and slandering to hamper opposing systems(Dreamcast).Gaming use to be Fun and wholesome until it turned into a bussiness and our words don't mean shit anymore.

This is a big reason why i left video game for about 5 years and stayed to emulators on pc. The shit Sony did to get ahead marked the end for us. Now thanks to Blogs and whateva freelance writers has to type nothing is sacred or secret. Back then in Genesis and Snes era you got about 40 games a month with variety that kept us entertained without having to go online.

The five games in my opinion started the copy cat gaming to me.
Final Fantasy - FMV cutscene galore bulking up development in the first place.(I don't even want to mention the JRPG that followed.)

Resident evil - Survival horror (How many of these came out of nowhere?)
Metal gear solid - steath type(Tenchu,Syphon filter ETC)
Grand turismo - Racing Sims (You seeit.)
Grand Theft Auto - Sandbox (Open ended games)

It's still too much of a gimmick right now for me to like it. I think playing a racing game with an imaginary steering wheel is just stupid. Your arms will tire, and what will happen when you sneeze, or want to scratch your nuts? Dumb!

p.s. I fucking hate the name too!

Dont forget DevilMayCry which pretty much resulted in a shitton of shitty action games and a few decent ones.
Such as: God of War, that weird game for the PS3 that had the girl with a giant transforming sword that i heard was shitty, ninja gaiden (NG2 was lame), etc...

even DMC4 was bad, why? because they wanted to appeal to the masses and make money not make a good game. They stripped everything good from the game (Difficulty, dark atmosphere, unique and a good quantity of weapons, good bosses) put in decent graphics and an overpowered devil arm that could did mass damage with 1 button press.. and produced a horrible game compared to its predecesors...
sigh.. and it sold better then any of its other games which means its a success and the gaming industry gains more motivation to go into the dark depths of shitty games..

Hell yeah i though i was the only person that left DMC4 want a little more.I felt Dante Got busier in DMC3. The dark atmosphere was gone for european locales and the bullshit devil bringer.
