EVO 2K8 Info

I mean HONESTLY looking at that list of fighters, are there any surprises? You know EVERY one of those games is going to have at least 100 people. I love VF with all my heart and think VF5 is the best fighter ever. But still, I don't think it is deserving of a place on that stage in the wake of all of those fighters PURELY from a participants standpoint. From a skill standpoint, more deserving than several of those. However we can't lie... the player base just isn't there to match up. And Evo isn't in the business of handing out thousands of dollars in checks out of charity. They get sponsored by companies like Toyota for a reason... to bring in the cash and to bring a lot of faces and recognition.

 

Evo is no longer sponsored by Toyota. I don't think they have anyone sponsoring them at the moment.

There is also no regionals events this year. Midwest Championship (Evo North) will still go on but winners will not qualify for any event in Vegas.

 

Well, looking at the list, NO VF. So, Shag, whats deal on this subject then? Is it popping or not? What's with all the bitter comments folks? If you guys want to promote your game at EVO you have to network. See some dude looking over your shoulder, ask him if he wants to play and introduce him to "Lei-Fei" and let them win once in a while. I find it fucked up that Shag is trying to invest he's personal time to promote the game and community, and instead of backing homeboy up, ya complain. You always got to rep your scene to the fullest, regardless of the situation. What's wrong on having a gathering in motherfucking Vegas to promote are game? One, is VEGAS, so there's bitches in the strip, case closed.

 

I already told Shag on SRK that I'm willing to help with the VF Tourney at EVO. Throw some cash for the pot and the like.
