oh I know, that wasn't evo, it was VF4 revision D. It's like their precursor to evo. The PS2 is C and doesn't have brad.

Do you have anything better to do than time wasting one-liners?
Nobody is taking you seriously. I have seen you post absolutely zero worthwhile content out of your 75 current posts.

My two cents on the topic, though late...

If Sega is looking for strong sales of VF4:Evo, the Xbox is probably not as bad as one may think. If you have 500K sold on PS2, with its enormous installed base. That likely indicates of the millions of PS2 owners in Japan, those are the majority of the hardcore and casual VF fans. The hardcore ones will easily buy Evo, but is Evo enough to sell to the casual ones? Hard to say.

Porting the game to Xbox however is a different story. With the only real hand to hand fighter that will be available at the time of the home port being DOA3 still, VF4 evo has a very good chance of selling through to the majority of Xbox owners in Japan, total numbers could easily get to 200K in the end. Again, the PS2 is over saturated with good fighters. Where as, on the Xbox, the only other "good" fighter would be Soul Calibur II, and thats a totally different beast of a game. Not to mention that most VF fans are quite devout, they will pick up an Xbox just for VF4:Evo. Especially if Sega pulls off a flawless port. As for Microsoft, I dont doubt they would more than support Sega in the port, they need every advantage they can get with the Japanese public. Having VF4 Evo as an Xbox exclusive, could loosen them up a little.

Bottom line, no matter what, chances are slim that VF4: Evo will match sales of VF4. Regardless of which console its on.

slim indeed /versus/images/icons/grin.gif im still putting my money on for evo on ps2 i mean if you look at it this way, why would would SEGA just simply ignore ALL the people who own vf4 (the people who would definitely buy evo) for the chance to sell half that on the x box,VF's main fanbase is obviously japan and we all know that the xbox just plain sucks there.

No offence to any xbox owners but it just cant cut it in this era of console madness. And it WILL fail to convert all of the playstation fanboys(like me and all my buddies) and all the millions around the world that it is the supperior console.

GOOD LUCK MICROSOFT

I think your friend is on crack.
The PS3 won't be out until 2005, and they said they may not even put it in a console -- or at least a 'traditional' one. They've only started desigining the chip, and may leave it at that and have it installed in some other device.

Search the news -- there was a big article on it last week. And I doubt it'll retail for $900. As fucked up as Sony is, they're not that stupid.

Man youre totally right sony arent stupid $900 is a lot of money especially when a substantial amount of gamers are below the age of 18 and dont have that kind of money(at least where i live anyway)

An about the ps3 not being ready til 2005 i heard the chip alone wont be ready to around that time and considering the ps2 still has a good bit of life left in it as it continues to outsell the opposition i think we wont see the ps3 til about mid 2006.

Honestly, why make a game for a system that's doing poorly in your targeted market; Japan? Whether or not VFEvo will be on Xbox will probably be determined by Microsoft. Unless it starts doing better in the Japanese market, making Evo an Xbox exclusive would be an extremely bold move on Sega's part, and it just might be a stupid one.

It's so funny how Xbox fans immediately think that every game is headed their way just because the system has so much potential. All that potential, but pathetic 3rd party support. An Evo exclusive would be outrageous, but I can see multi-platform happening.

And Xbox do better than Naomi2?? Someone's overrating the (powerful) Xbox. I witnessed a discussion in another forum on the same topic, and it was proven that Naomi2 outclasses EVERY system available. As soon as I can find the sources again, I'll post. If I can't, then just ignore me until I can.

Awww man not this again /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Evo will appear on whatever it appears on, and no amount of handwringing and indepth spec discussions and marketing dissections will change that.

Forgive me, I just see a lot of people posting "why jeeves! That's absolutely ab-SURD! VF will never appear on _______ for the following lengthy reasons!" and none of it ever affects the outcome of anything. I can't even see the fun in speculating. I think it's just a convenient excuse to advocate whatever console is your favorite (or bash any you don't like)

Well, I can't say with 100% certainty that VF4e won't be released on Gamecube, but I can say that it would be a pretty bad marketing decision given the target audience. Then again, Sega has made some stupid choices before... /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
