Fighting game characters you hate?

I might be the only person who doesn't really hate any fighting game characters. There are plenty that don't "do it" for me, and even some i dislike and plenty I find irritating to fight against, but I'm not sure there are any I feel strongly enough to use the word "hate.

Well...maybe Lion is the exception. Everytime he opens his stupid mouth I wan't to punch him in the balls to death.

Also I do hate Paul's hair from the Tekken series. It's just so fucking stupid looking. I know there's plenty of other daft characters and designs in Tekken but for some reason I can't explain Paul's hair gets to me more than anything else in the games. This is from a guy who found Street Fighter's Birdie's mohawk, with it's impossible hole, to be amusing.

Oh and I have to meantion AI controlled Alpha from DoA4 and 5. The cheating bitch.

But apart form them I don't think I hate any other characters. But I will add that as I get older Mortal Kombat's female character designs are starting to bother me. I know they're going for the whole "1980's heavy metal album artwork" look with the games and there's a certain degree of tongue-in-cheekness, but mixing half naked women with over the top, excessive violence and gore is starting to creep me out. And I'm finding DoA's females increasingly insipid and puerile as I get older too.

 

I'm actually starting to hate Lei-fei now. Something about the way he is played irritates me.

Nope, Nina from the Tekken series is the worst murderer/assassin ever. Think about her assignments throughout the Tekken series.

Tekken 1: Assassinate Heihachi;FAILED
Tekken 2: Assassinate Kazuya; FAILED
Tekken 3: Assassinate Jin; FAILED
Tekken 4: Assassinate Steve; Not only did she FAIL, but she even protected Steve

At least Akuma was a thrill killer, whereas Nina fancied herself a consummate professional killer. Who the hell would keep hiring an assassin that has such a piss poor track record? I guess that's why starting with Tekken 5, she was no longer hired to kill anyone, and was even reduced to bodyguard duty in Tekken 6. Lo how the mighty (lol) hath fallen.

 

FACT: Most things on the internet are a waste of time.

That being said how can you complain about SF characters coming back then say MK has a good story? Every body dies in every single game in multiple ways. It's less a fighting game more an interactive snuff film.

 

You both consider two to be quite a few? Lion and Alpha were my only two exceptions....and even then Alpha was only when AI controlled (human players can't read your controller inputs). I don't hate paul, just his stupid hair - when I change it in Tekken Tag 2 I no longer hate him lol. But no amount of customisation will make me no longer hate Lion.

As for the women in MK and DoA I said they are starting to bother me. That's not the same as hating them. Dislike is not equal to hatred.

So really I only truely hate one character, maybe one and a half including Alpha as I only hate her when it's the boss AI controlling her and not players. That is not a lot. Some people posted like a half dozen characters.

Also, I did say "...don't really hate any..." I didn't categorically state that there were absolutely zero characters I hate. But my language should have been clearer, I'll give you that.

Well, I do hate how SF Cody is still wearing the Hamburglar suit and chain gang cuffs. Dude you've already broken out of prison for how many years why are you still wearing those? He doesn't really use the chain for any moves, why does he still have it? Besides, American inmates don't wear the Hamburglar anymore. If he wants to look like a convict at least do it right. Thank god for color customization in SFxT.

VF5 Goh. I don't hate him, I just wish the game has a bonus character with his old moveset. It's orthodox and absent of flair, but that's what I like about it! I want a technical judo fighter! Also, I miss his VF4 hoodie. VF5 has the hoodie as an item, but its polygons don't look right.

VF5 Jean. I can't stand to look at him; he's completely out of scale compared to other fighters. How does Sega make an artistic mistake like that? In customization I typically strip him naked like Gai Tendo (Buriki One), so he doesn't look like a giant mutant.

I like Tekken Paul with his cheap-ass Noob Smasher. He's a joke who is more realistic than any other video game fighter, i.e. a washed-up old hobo who used to be a great fighter even though he never won any tournaments, can still kick your ass but not top tier broken anymore. Doesn't have some lame backstory like his mother got turned into a robot, or wears army fatigues but is somehow in the Air Force and fighting terrorists with sonic booms from his armpits. No, he's just a professional fighter who likes to fight and who thinks he's great at fighting. Perfect 1 sentence summary for all MMAs IRL.

As far as Street Fighter, I have some major hate-on against Ryu. His endings are all damn near the same in each SF title. He walks off into the sunset while looking for somebody to beat up with the final line of his ending being "The fight is all."

The fight is all of what exactly? I don't think this question has ever been answered even since it was asked in 1987.

 

Pretty much anyone from Tekken. I understand that playing a fighting game for the story is like watching a porno for its plot, but I mean it's just B-O-R-I-N-G.

I recently got into TTT2 thanks to my friends (it's a pretty fun game) but I've always found Tekken boringboringboring. I have no reason to get hype over a new Tekken release because I can never decide who to main. And I can never decide who to main because every character on the Tekken roster is so bland.

Name one character in the Tekken universe that makes you say "Yeah [insert name], s/he's so badass, I can't wait to main him/her!" when you see them in a cutscene or trailer. You can't. The first person to mention [X] Kazama or [Y] Mishima is gettin' slapped; they're only badass to kids under the age of twelve. I don't even have the room to rant about the rest of the cast.

I just have a thing against main characters in general. From dialogue to character design, to bio, everything is so cut-and-paste. I do like how VF's Akira isn't very beginner friendly, though.

I'm also getting real sick of palette swaps, characters (especially bosses) who pull moves from other characters, and inane dialogue about how "impressed" villains are with my progress when I finally confront them in their not-so-secret hideout.

lol Not sure what your beef with Tekken is Midnight, if there's one thing that makes the series popular it's the unique characters. Robots, zombies, bears, demons, ninjas, it's got everything.

I only hate fat and/or old characters, unless they have wings or some shit like DOA's Tengu. Then they're cool.

 

I love all characters in all 50 fighters that i own from 1994 till now.
Cant really hate anyone cause for example if someone in TTT2 touch of deaths me with one combo using specific characters its :
1)my mistake for not blocking/countering/unable to do the same.
2)the programmers fault for allowing such bs system/moves.
3)the opponent who reads my weakness and makes the best of his characters.
Also i blame the 2) when a character has retarded/offensive/copied personality or looks n abusive tactics.
How can i hate a character whom i've spent lots of enjoyable,memorable years playing with or against him?

 

I can't speak for Midnight, but this is one of the main reasons I dislike Tekken.

Why the hell am I fighting zoo animals, flying demons, and robots!? Granted a majority of those characters aren't "annoying" per se, it's really difficult to take the game seriously when my opponent is a giant grizzly bear wearing a tutu with a cake for a hat...
