Fighting game characters you hate?

Lol.At first you cant take them seriously but you do when you get double perfected by an insanely impressive Samurai Bear-Tutu Panda combo like me!

Tekken has great characters. Give credit where it's due. And Tekken had the only decent fighting game story up until Tekken 4. But it sounds like you are just anti...

 

That's not Kuma's standard costume. I fight some pretty ridiculously clothed characters in VF also. Yes, there are a bunch of stupid characters in Tekken (now more than ever) but they have a huge roster and most of the other characters are solid.

 

Armor King a good character design

He's basically King in an armor. He's even named Armor King for christ's sake lol. Granted they've given him a unique enough moveset in the later games and I guess they've even held his storyline somewhat consistent and non-goofy (dunno about tag2, it's a dream match, everythings goofy).

But in the end he's still just King + armor => Armor King. Dude's seriously one of the more stupid designs I've seen.

 

I'm aware that that isn't his default costume, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous that I'm fighting a damn grizzly bear.

And yes, the core roster is "solid", but the roster is mostly fluff that the majority of people use. I'm either fighting mishimas, kazamas, farm animals, fuckers that can fly for some reason, or robots.

Atleast in VF, if a character has a ridiculous outfit on, he's still a normal human...

I think Tekken would do great in T7 to trim the roster down a bit. Do we really need 2 Tae Kwon Do masters? 2 Capoeira fighters? 2 Muay Thai fighters? The entire Mishima/Kazama family? 2 Laws?

Too many characters makes it very hard to remember matchups, and even harder for the dev team to balance properly.

 

Yes, admittedly he is just a modified King but he's still a cool character design. If he was just presented to you in isolation I'm sure you would think he's a good character. I always preferred his look to King's and wished he could be the main guy but it never panned out.

 

Well now things have completely gone to sh*t with Tekken character design which is part of the reason I don't play it anymore. At first it was just the kangaroo, the lizard and the bear but things have gotten out of hand now.

For the rest, the Tae Kwon Do guys both play VERY differently to each other and have a vastly different style so I'm okay with that. Two capoeiristas is too much, Christie needs to go. There's only one Muay Thai I think. Only two Mishima style fighters and they are both very different although if I had to choose I would say Kazuya's Mishima style is lacking. Jin does not do Kazama style (or Mishima).

Nothing wrong with a big roster if they all play differently and uniquely. Part of what made Tekken 5 so great was they brought back all the sub bosses from Tekken 2 but managed to revamp them completely into their own unique characters. Even Anna and Nina play completely differently.

But, yeah, things are pretty grim now. Personally I think I would only consider playing Tekken again if they literally cancelled every new fighter from Dark Resurrection onwards, starting with Lilly. Just cancel all of them and try again.

 

That's what Tekken 4 did after TTT and everyone hated it. Granted there's more reasons people hated it but it is one. Can't really go taking out characters without angering some people (even if some of the copycat characters unique moves went to the character that was still in).
Tekken's dug its own hole in this department. I'd be damned amazed if they decided to do anything but adding more stuff in future releases.

 

That's funny - I absolutely LOVE fat and old characters! We're opposite sides of the coin there.

 

Eh Tekken can go take a hike. It's a thin line between love and hate and right now I couldn't even stand to play Tekken even on the side. I'd rather play Mortal Kombat or DOA5 as a side dish. And I've found VF as my main so that's that.

 

Armor King's story now is just dumb as opposed to goofy since there are two Armor Kings. AK2 wants to kick Marduk's ass because Marduk beat AK1 to death, all the while King didn't know that AK1 had a brother even though he was his mentor, trainer, and best friggin' friend!

Why the hell wouldn't AK1 tell King that he had a brother that was also a wrestler? What made the whole thing even more idiotic is that the only reason that King found out there were two Armor Kings is that he dropped a portrait, which had another photo hidden behind it.

 

Oh, it's that stupid. I just thought he wanted to kill Marduk for earlier while King just got over it and now they're BFF's or something.
I liked the grim storylines on Tekken 4 a lot. Then they brought every missing and dead character back and things just went apeshit.

 

I guess I'd say Sackboy or Kat in Playstation All-Stars. Used to be Drake, but I got over it.

what fighting game character i hate the most is probably Twelve from 3s because....hes twelve.

 

Kuma/Panda had a fart in Tekken 3 too, Gon was just adding to the gas cloud on that.
