Yah Fighting Vipers 1 and 2 were both made by AM2.

Fighting Vipers and Fighters Megamix are different games. Megamix was only on Saturn AFAIK. It combined VF and FV and a few other gimmick sega characters (Sonic, Tails, Daytona race car(!) around the time VF3 was hitting the arcades. (The VF characters had the VF3 movelist for the most part.)

Fighting Vipers 1 felt a lot like VF2. I've never seen FV2 in action... don't know anything about it.

oy! forgot about pepsi man... =)

Yeah, I was given my copy of Megamix by Joji Suzuki. Should have had him autograph it, now that I think about it. Modded my Saturn so that I could play Japanese disks because of it.

    good times.

Been playing this game a lot lately. I really like it. Only a few things really bug me though..

    NO SIDE STEP!!!

What the heck man? It really bothers me, it's hard to avoid attacks at times and it's hard to figure out if fighters even have side throws.

Another thing, HORRIBLE training mode. If you thought VF5's training mode was bad, just play FV2. Even Fighters Megamix had a decent training mode. All I ask for is a command training. Don't enen have that.

VF and FV are as alike as they are different in terms of Gameplay. I wonder what a modern day FV would be like? I wonder if they would update they movement and controls up to VF5 level but still retain it's unique gameplay? One can only wonder.

I've also been playing Last Bronx PC. That game is wicked awesome! I can't believe Sega abandoned this series. It's similar to VF but with weapons!!

There's a sidestep but it's from the parry (P+K+G), or if you're one of several characters, there's the wall sidestep that looks pretty cool.

My mistake. Has trouble figuring a few things out with this game.
I honestly think this game would be a hit if AM2 revisited the series.
