Big OUCH for Lion. Am I jumping the gun here in predicting some Shun enhancements? Most of the DP changes seem to be in his favor so far...will this be it or is there just something about ver. B and Shun?

    Recovery on guard is changed
Recovery on guard is extended, countering this move on guard is easier

What did this refer to, after db+P? Are there even more toned down moves we haven't seen yet?
    :p

i would'nt worry about that, look at the entire list full of downgrades, .... is it me, or does lion have NO ENHANCEMENTS? ouchy.. /versus/images/icons/crazy.gif

Creed - thanks anywayz, i think wolf has enough enhancements for me to feast on for the while. but yeah, shlrm should be improved seeing it is his only launcher other than stagger ~ uf+p (which don't give u as much options). it's a shame coz i still got the habit of slaming f+k in hope of the old counter knee from time to time, lol. i guess this is why i'm interested in seeing the new exicution to shlrm, making it slightly more fidly to exicute would make it less convinient and even less used.

Those Aoi changes are pretty vague. A bunch of recovery time changes, but they don't say if they made the recovery longer or shorter. Just have to wait and see for more info I suppose. Thanks for the translation ninjasan.

CreeD the descriptions that don't have a move to the left of them refers to the last listed commands. I can't figure out how to tab when writing the post.. so the formatting is like that.

Baobab the changes are vague. Most of them just says changes are made to the moves, and not faster or slower. Since the frame datas are not out yet, there is no way to see how these moves changed. I guess Sega was just being nice in the case of Lion telling people moves are easier to counter against. People in Japan probably thinks he's way overpowered. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

-jumonji run+k - aoi can reverse it as mid kick, not sure why it's not a low reversal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Jumonji run+K, is a mid attack -- that's why it's a mid reversal (I think you must be confusing it with plain old run+K. Which is, of course, a low attack).

    Lion got shafted.

I've played Lion for quite a long time now, and I've never thought he was a powerhouse. The second I touched Goh I thought he was a powerhouse, but not Lion, and now in EVOb he's been completely neutered. Changing his b,f+K+G from 35 to 25 is a huge blow. On top of that they decided to make virtually everything else of his easier to counter. Does, anyone have any idea what Sega was thinking when they did this? I mean I thought if they did anything they would have made his punch combo out of the catch throw easier to do. Since, at the moment, it's not worth the time and effort to get the timing down.

Looks like alot of the moves that is consider abusable have been changed. Vanessa also have more stagger opportunities. It seems like AM2 knows what's going on in the VF scene.

    Only Shun is left. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Does anyone have any idea what Sega was thinking when they did this?

    Chibita.

Also, I have heard others grouse a lot about the counterability of specific attacks such as b,df+P and ff+K+G. they don't seem like big guns, but the fact that they're for free in version C is... frustrating at times.

I agree that lion's no powerhouse. On the other hand he's not gonna be a cripple in evo vercion B, he just doesn't get to break recovery rules the way akira does /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

there are only two moves that sound like that.
d/f+p,p and d+p+k,f+p and I think it is the later. Currently,
the d+p+k is very strong I think as it staggers crouchers.
The f+p is only confirmed on an MC or stagger. So if they
change it to guard half.... very bad.

decent news for vanessa.....increased stagger options is good and the fact alot of moves are now more likely to hit makes it all the more sweeter!! viva la Vanessa

    On Aoi...

Honestly...looking at the reversals that they singled out, I'd say that the opponent can recover more quickly...I.e. you only get the ground slap guaranteed and not the ground throw/pounce guessing game anymore. All of the ones they mentioned are where the ground throw attempt is guaranteed.

    On Wolf...

I think the extra frames on the HCB P+G,P+G was to bring the guessing between pick-up and ground throw back. The pick up is reversable now and was guaranteed, however, the ground throw was never guaranteed. I think they wanted to bring that back into play, as folks were basically mashing d+P+G and escaping the pick up always, while the mashing got them up fast enough to avoid the d/f+P+G. That's why everyone still just pounces...

I think everyone should just stop! and wait til you actually get the game and play it. What you hear on VFDC and even other Japanese sites isn't always the truth, I like to find things out for myself and once I do, then I can rightfully bitch about a character or SEGA for that matter =/. laters

so do it. in the meantime, Creed and others are providing information that people want. in the absence of "being there" and not wanting to merely wait for the game in four months they prefer to find things out as it is reported.

[incessant whine]don't bother trying to think of a response, just play vf[/incessant whine]

heh..i think you'd lose a vote 198371986781527465 to 1 on this one. if you don't want to read about the changes and/or speak or bitch about it until you play it, then don't! in the meantime, hundreds of others are curious and will discuss it - regardless of what you think they should do.

nearly all of the information is accurate, btw. at the worst it's vague (i.e.; "recovery is changed"), and then there are some translating problems, but that's about it.
