Giant Swing fastest input help

    Hi make sure you aren't wasting frames at /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. Trying doing:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif
    snap your wrist from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif fast and hard, and let the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif wait for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif instead of letting /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif wait for the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif command. if you get a pg throw slow down on the pg and make sure you hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif and not just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif, if you get a f+pg slow down on the snap, if you are getting normal GS speed up on the snap. speed is key. If you are waiting for your left hand to tell you "oh i'm at /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif" before your right hand presses pg, it's too late. Have fun with b,d/f+p > PGS hit-throw~

    i think to input a "fastest" giant swing, u just simply activate it fast~ i think everybody activates sticks their own way, so it will become natural depending on the way you syncronize to it,

    i probably do it the same way as shang's post, ~ but even when a dozen ppl explained to me how to activate akira's knee, i realized i had to find my own comfotablily.

    having said tho, what ppl dont realize about PGS is exactly myke's statement, it's 80+20 ~ where as KS is 80+ more than 20 given the same situation of not techrolling, you get a free down attack or ground throw~~

    manz gotta stop breakin sticks over PGS and start KSin /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    hmm.. GS is a 100point throw even if it's 80+20. you need exact recovery to reduce the damage on GS, KS is just TRable with Instant Recovery. It's much easier to TR the KS than it is to exact recover GS. If you take the same logic then one could say jeffry's b+pg does 0 damage, or jacky's 33pg is only 45 damage.
    In Evo KS is a good alternative than GS because #1, it's 80 damage, #2 it's even on escape, and #3 if you mess up the PGS your throw is 11 frames. In VF5 KS not a good alternative because, it has lesser damage, you are disadvantage on escape, and GS is no longer slower than PGS. So unless you are just terrible at PGS I think PGS is a lot better than KS in VF5. Obiviously you can play with better wakeup game with KS and you could toss them out of the ring if their back is close to ring out, but GS is great at RO also, and you could net at least 100point if they don't exact recovery or being tossed into a wall. Plus GS takes 3 drinks. I think it's great they brought back the power of GS, that's wolf's signature move!

    Yeah, shang gives both good reasons to use PGS over KS.

    For ring out, and into the wall for full 100 pts damage.

    You are also in a better position having PGS escapes compared to KS.

    oh i see,~ i didnt read the changes on KS~

    wow o__o~ now it kindda sucks~ i guess GS really is wolf's main~ LOL~

    i think they wanted to match the F5 or something~ who knows.


    oh and to add on the ring outs, i just remembered that GS is able to throw opponents over small walls, so yes, it does seem stronger now. i dont know about KS able to throw over walls yet however.

    Back on topic I just input it really fast and it seems to work,
    it does seem easier to do in 5, but then alot of the moves do.. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
    p.s I prefer F5 now though /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    this makes sense to me, and seems to straighten out the Data. This was actually my first assumption upon looking at my Data, that how long you hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif doesn't matter. I tried testing this, by holding /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b_.gif for a long time, then trying to get the FGS to come out, but I couldn't get it, so I thought I was wrong. Probably just my hands though.

    Maybe we should try to test this:

    hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b_.gif (or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b_.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif) for a long time, then procced to do the FGS.

    If it works, we know what Myke's saying is true, and that it doesn't matter how long you hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif. This'd make my data clearer. I'll try it out, anyone else too would be appreciated.

    I also wanna try what Shang said: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif, if this can be confirmed in the Dojo, it opens up a lot of different ways it could be done (if /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif can be substituted for the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif, like the SPoD).

    I don't think you can substitute /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif.

    I think Shang's method is a way to help you visualize what he's doing with his wrist motion. One of the biggest reason why people screw up PGS input is not hitting the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif or spending too much time on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif.

    One more thing that's already been mentioned is the timing for the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif input. Remember to press it early enough so you don't waste too many frames on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif.

    I was able to do that akiralove, the exact input displayed was

    33: 4
    2: 1
    1: 2
    25: 6+P+G

    and it was PGS.

    Srider, it's already been confirmed by my Data and several others that hitting /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif and/or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif isn't necessary to get the FGS. Am I missing something here?

    Siyko, that's great! We can confirm that the time spent at /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif doesn't matter, so now my data makes sense (for the most part). I have one question though, your input reads as:

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, is this right? or did you mix up the 2:1 & 1:2? I wouldn't be surprised if it still worked, just curious.

    the left is the frames spent, the right is the input. So I inputted 4126, for some reason I don't have arrows, but it is fine.

    Everything is easier in vf5: The fast GS is easier, the Toekick stunner's throw window is bigger in 5, and the low punch cut reversal window is bigger. VF5 = HD VF4FT in easy mode.

    Actually, I'm having more difficulties pulling off Fast GS in VF5 compared to Evo and FT somehow. Only if I concentrate when pulling off the Fast GS in VF5 does it come out. In Evo and FT I can do them at least 9 out of 10 times from both side without even focusing. Somehow I'm wondering if it has to do with the VSHG. Even though it's supposed to be all Sanwa, I'm actually more comfortable playing using the real arcade panels

    I remember how I started to learn how to do this move. It was a day when I went to A-cho arcade in Kyoto to play my weekly rounds of VF. After every single round won, I would input GS motions in many different ways to see when Wolf's hands came out fast and not. Since I just kept on doing this for a week every time after a round, it just become more and more natural for me to pull it off. I have a tendency to start the half circle from diagonally up-backwards when doing this move. To me, that seems to be a method I manage to move through the necessary input directions the fastest way possible. Worst case scenario and the KS will come out instead, so heavy damage is at least confirmed to happen.

    By the way, can't confirm this at the moment because I lent away the unit to Netrom and Raider, but does Wolf show different hand wiff animations when pulling off either a Fast GS and a slow GS?
    So far I can't remember if I notice any camera angle changes when connecting with the different versions.

    Everytime you perform the "Fast" version of throws, the camera zooms out.

    Shang's advice seems to be the best solution for me, pressing P+G as fast as possible.

    Fastest input doesn't even require you to hit all the direction as I firstly thought.

    I have always done the Giant Swing with Wolf with f,b,db,d,df,f. This is most likely due to playing with KIng in tekken and somehow I always do the 100pt version. I honestly never realized you dont need the forward. I just get my VSHG in today and i tried to minimize my input window by not doing forward and i did not get it once. I am back to using forward as my start command and I am already hitting it 60% on pad it was 98% I am hoping once I get use to stick it can be that way again . Forward is the key. its done like this f,N,b,db,d,f,df,f+p+g
