Obviously, Im only counting the American market. Jeneric why would I bother mentioning the MSX? I was 12 when Metal Gear came out on the NES. No way would I have been able to import an MSX at 11 y/o, so from my p.o.v. its irrelevant.

This isn't a witch hunt, master poo's bend over buddy can hate MGS4 all they want. The market has reversed, high end games sometimes get overlooked and marginalized. Look EGM gave BOMB BLOCKS the game of the month and gave GRAN TURISMO PROLOGUE B's and C's. They even indicated they had some less than favorable comments to make about MGS4, but Konami put a gag- order on them until after the games release. But EGM feels so passionate about MGS4, and Metal Gear in general, they wrote a five page early gradeless review in the june issue. On way or another, it's a good sign when a game provokes that much discussion.

My take, MGS is a lot like VF, it is pains takingly made with a lot of depth, and that depth attracts the more ........

And I didn't know we have to take your POV in consideration when looking at history, but now I do, so it's all cool.

I finished the game last night, i'm realy pleased that the story managed to work out so well. With all the shit going on in the past games, it could have easily been a mess. Some of the reviews claimed the game started dragging towards the end, like it literally crawled to it's conclusion but I really enjoyed it... I admit there's not much gameplay towards the end haha, but I really like how the story unfolded and how they managed to work everything from the past games into it.

... And i'd be really suprised if all the Raiden haters still hate him even after playing through this game.

There was a few things that bothered me though, felt like they forgot to explain some shit, haha. I'll ask here but put spoiler tags, se if any of you guys understand it...

She lives if you pass it and get the "good ending" which is the real ending to MGS1. I think Raiden being a cyborg is just something he did to be more effective on the battlefield and to run away from his life with Rosemary after MGS2. He wasn't a cyborg in MGS2 so I'm pretty sure it's something that happened afterwards.</div></div></div>

I just finished the game last night. Best game I've ever played...

Hmmm, there where two endings in MGS1... in one of them Otacon died and in the other Meryl died. Seeing as Otacon was still around in MGS2 I figured they went with the one where Meryl died. Maybe i'm remembering all this wrong, wish I had a copy of MGS1 lol.

Yep that part is pretty epic, like the scene earlier where you are fighting the gekkos and Raiden is fighting Vamp.

I hurt my damn finger on that scene. I was pressing triangle with all the life I had In me...towards the end I was yelling make it...Cause I ran into the shockers like three times. I was like nooooooo don't die!!!! One of the greatest moments I've ever had gaming.

Awesome game, tough I finished it already it will keep me busy for some time.
In the second run I search for details. I love the Mosin Nagant with the emotion bullets.
But hey, why do we don't get Screaming Beauty FaceCamo? I want to have all four (pretty) faces.

eh?! you can get Screaming Beauty face camo... I unlocked that and a Raiden mask from the first play through. I think you have to use the Mk.2 pistol on the beauty and beast bosses while they are in human form to unlock their face camo.

We' re talking about MGS4 here , you argumentive prick. Most people didn't even know the msx existed until ten years after MG came out when UBER nerds EGM brought it up. What do you expect from a swed, anal nitpicking. I'll give you this though, The MSX version was superior to the NES ver because you actually fought the Metal Gear mech at the end, instead of simply destroying it's computer .

Otacon hasn't died in either of MGS1 ending. The ending with saving Meryl, he's still alive when the air raid had stop after the secretary of defense has been arrested. Meryl was absent in MGS2 when Snake left with Otacon to built an Anti-Metal Gear Organization just the two of them. Not too sure if Mei Ling was there too. She did talk in only one codec conversation about chinese proverb.

Continuing to spout my love for this game. Cannot get over how well made it is, and how well the story is being executed. For MGS fans, this is like a dream come true, imo anyway.

We should get another thread going to discuss spoilers soon. I'm not done with it yet, Big Boss mode and other responsibilities have been powning my progress, but enjoying every minute of what I do get to play.
