To achieve Raiden/Otacon/Campbell you have to shock (not actually, just "hit with the tentacle") that certain person with Mk.II during a mission briefing.
Also, check the Cheats section on Gamefaqs for info on unlockables:

I had so many holy crap moments at the end of act four. Really glad none of my friends spoiled it for me, but they sure did hype it up, and it sure did deliver lol.

Ok I finished the game. Damn its 4am now

Anyways, great game some intense moments, pretty good story, but damn some of those cut scenes are way to long.

and I don't mind cut scenes... as long as they move the story along, a better editing job would have made the experience that much better.

time to return back to gamefly

I haven't finished it but I'm really glad bought this game instead of renting it just because the replay value on it is so high.
This MGS have even more replay value than it's predecessors due to downloadable content. The in-game Ipod is really innovative too. I'm staying away from the spoiler thread but I can't wait to see what happens next. This game's better than a lot of movies I've seen.

I'm guessing you didn't play any of the other MGSs?

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't feel any of the cutscenes were needless. In-fact, I felt they trimmed off a lot they could have thrown in. Everything hinted at something in each cutscene, be it a past story element or current. Even the eggs being cooked by _____ in the briefings had relevance lol.

I played them all and yes those needed to be edited as well.

One example of editing a scene in MGS4 would be the talk on the battleship about it's his first battle and he is scared. WTF is the point? In a movie I understand, but in a video game where I just had a 20 minute cut scene briefing it was unnecessary.

Maybe have a bit more interactive scenes. Example during the fighting. I thought for a moment well its not Shenmue and MGS has never been like that, but when you finally get in the fight there are QTE's. Why not introduce them sooner?

Btw, editing doesn't mean cutting whole scenes out, but for gods sake make it shorter. Example eggs were probably about a minute or more each time...heck make it 20- 30 secs instead.

Also, it wasn't just the cutscenes... the loading is pretty bad though. I have never see a game load so much. Between acts I can understand, but when something exciting is going on and out of no where the screen goes black and says loading gets annoying.

Overall for a movie it gets a 9 out of 10
Overall for a game a 7 out of 10

This game actually loads less than many, if you add it up pound for pound. Has a big initial load time before acts, granted, obvious, but room transitions and individual acts don't need loading. I would be quicker to complain about load times on VF5 than I would MGS4 lol.

Anyway, I won't argue, I don't agree with a lot you've said but do respect your take on shortening some of the cutscenes.

Off the Mother Fuckin' chain game!!! I just beat OctoPuss; this game is so good I find myself just stop playing just to relish the game.
