ggs to KO. everytime i play u i'm surprised by how much u've improved. U have a very offensive jeff, actually pretty unique IMO. Hope u keep practicing in the dojo. U could start looking at other peoples frame data and be better still when u get back. nice offense man

ggs gentleman thief. i was feeling good about myself after a couple good nights vs jacky and then uh...u went all gentleman theif on me. you were doing things with akira that don't even look possible on paper. i don't know what to say except damn. The way some of u guys play vf is the both the reason i wanna keep playing [IMG] and the reason i wanna quit playing. [IMG]

Thanks! I'm always keeping my offense strong, but adding some etegs here and there never hurt. [IMG]

Your goh is very tough for me, I'm not really sure how to describe it but I have trouble that I usually don't have from other gohs although they are rare. All those neutrals you throw out too puts me off guard, gotta learn how to eteg 4 at the same time.

Also gg's to Soulkatana, those were some fun games with your kage, reminded me of the old times, except we are both better which makes for funner matches!

P.S. SMB why did you change your avatar?! I want to see your muscles again, preferably one that shows your lower body physique..... or the one you were using before either way!

GG's to supersluggeegee, Sevensided, Borisofwales and mackfactor.

Some constructive critism for Boris and Mack.

Boris - I dodge a lot, but you dodge A LOT more. I think sometimes you should just take the risk of getting thrown by just standing there or apply fuzzy guarding.

Mack - I think you should take gentleman thief's advice and not use [3] [P] + [K] so much. At one point you just kept throwing this move out there every chance you get and finally I just got tired of it and just kept using [3] [K] when ever I was at atdantage or disadvantage. Even after some of those [3] [K] counter hits you would still throw the move out there. Goh's sabaki is a great move no doubt, but once an opponent has been warned to respect this move or to sort of play fair I don't really think it needs to be thrown out so much when ever you are unsure of what your opponent will do.

Any way just food for thought and my apologies if I offended you guys.

Please feel free to hit me with some constructive critism if you please. It's always a warm welcome.

    GGs recently to:
Seidon: Good games as always, but had to laugh at myself when you threw me 5 times in a row with [3][P][+][G] [IMG]
After the first 2 I though you wouldnt do it again, so I only escaped in 2 and 6 direction...

Krye: No matter how often I play your Blaze I just dont get better against him, your strings are giving me a bad headache every time...
But I guess I have to stop playing 3 different chars a day and focus on one again, I messed up to much stuff with Akira yesterday.

Kamais_Ookin: Sadly we had a pretty bad connection, but good game anyway. Would be awesome to play against you with a decent connection.

Theres a funny story behind our match man. I was trying to do ETEG religiously when I was suppposed to and when I though you were gunna throw to be all safe and stuff. It took me about 9 games to realise you were predominately doing netral which I wasnt ETEGing *facepalm* and I'm not really comfortable with doing 3 directions and the G on pad, so that messed me up a bit. But they were good matches man, thanks for the advice.

Also I just looked at Kages throws, you did quite a few Katanagasumis so maybe I wasn't getting the 3p+g down pat in my TE sequence.

Also GGs to Social Ruin for Ak vs Goh matches, good fun. Yes I need more than the one combo I have for Akira lol.

Aaaahhh ok, well if you are practicing ETEG then it's all good.... but WOW triple TE on a pad??? that's insane! Yeah I was just using a lot of PG throws [IMG]

our matches were definitely fun and usual always are... I look forward to the next set bro.

    NONE OTHER:
thanks for all the matches. I have to be less predicatable vs None other. I think I have to take way more risks, I think now im playing too safe. I did realize 1 thing when I played ur jacky though. I think i should throw more, evrytime it was a small disadv i always went for a linear elbow but i should sometimes mix it up with throw. Ur jacky is very good. I dunt usually have problems with Jacky, but u did wierd moves sometimes which screwed me up. Another thing i thing which gave me so much problems with you and Konjou is when my evading became to predicatable and you guys would wait for the failed evade and hit me. maybe i evade to often at bigger disadvantge. Maybe sometimes i should just sit their and watch... i dunt know.

KONJOU: i knew the reason u kept kicking me was because i was overly using mid sabaki's. Sometimes during the match i wasnt tying to do it, i was trying to do a buffered shoulder ram. But ur right the mid sabaki's i was doing way too much. the one thing i really like about ur play that i want to incorporte is when u double sidestep. Sometimes I thought u were gonna go for a kick, so i thought I could probably hit u with an evade single palm, but u evaded twice which i thought was nice. i been trying alot of stuff with goh lately... But its really taken my goh back down a few levels. I have a bad tendacy to do sabaki's alot, but i have to train my head not to do it against higher level players ( which i have tried recently.. a no sabaki goh, and that didnt work out either.) the way i play against ppl i can condition well with sabaki's are the same way i lose to ppl that can realize not to do the same thing at minor advant/disadv. constructive critism is always welcome.

I really dont know what happened to my goh the last 2 weeks. I think my goh is having a identity crisis right now. I hope to pick up my game soon.

Study long study wrong. At this point stop overloading yourself thinking that you can right all the situations by doing the math. No to players play alike and now is the time to just play. Everything you learn WILL sit in you memory bank after a lengthy ass whupping lol!!! after which everything you learned will become second nature.

GG's to Fearlesswretch and Sifuman - Gives me more reasons to hate a online Pai.

That post covered his observations about what happened during the match. There was little mention of math.

This "study long, study wrong" seems a little silly to me. I don't see how more knowledge of the system mechanics can hurt.

Changing things about your Goh or play style is never a bad thing bro. It's because your exploring is the only reason why you feel like your gameplay is suffering. Honestly you shouldn't stop just because you can't win as much as you used. This sort of playing outside of your box will overall make you a much better player if you ask me. Lucky was this kind of player and as you can see by his skill level it was well worth every loss he had to endure.

If it's really discouraging you then I still would stop pushing forward. What I would do is just take a break and come back in a few days nice and fresh. Sometimes the best remedy for many things is to simply walk away and coming back to the problem with a clear mind. How many times in high school did a math problem drive you crazy and made you walked away only to come back in a couple of hours to say " wow that was easy! Why was it so hard before? "

any way good games and if you want to play some more just hit me up later tonight.

Because you start believing that Matchematically "This" Should work because you spend day testing it out only to realized that result may vary depending on player. He even said it himself. I probably unlike many was reading everything he said. Me mentioning math goes back to a earlier post of his. Im not trying to debunk his revelations but i just wanna get more into what he's saying and paying attention to him. You may never know what i'm talking about Plague but this is where VF discussions start and various minds exchange idea and elaborate on things VF.

Atleast to me i figured sometimes i study long and study wrong.

I think what Jeff is doing is correct, but those frame math are not reliable online. Plus, no one is actually calculating during the match which is insane. Frame list is a shortcut knowledge to learn guaranteed moves and I don't think it's harmful.

    GGs to you too.

Yeah, I like to use delay attack, because I don't have to think about which side you gonna evade. I'm just lazy. lol

One thing I think you should do is, try not to evade everytime after 2_6P+K, I dont know its -9 or -8, but I know its not punishable. I always used Jackys 46K+G or K+G after that because you cant evade these attacks. Maybe you should mix with evade and abare sometimes, or just guard would be better.

And against me, you should watch out normal throw when your health is low. I use normal throw pretty often when my opponent health is almost gone, because people usually wont try to escape normal throw.

One thing you screwed me up is, 66P+G. You should use this catch throw more, it is one of the great move of Goh.

Ggs to gentlementhief - nice session. I was trying to eliminate pai setups that you had working. She's a beast man.

Ggs to Kamias Ookin - that session was long overdue... Nice Jeff but stay away from evading after pk all the time. You made it way too easy to punish bad.

Ggs to T-Fam - I don't know what happened but when I got back you was gone.

Ggs to kidvid - nuff fun with ur Kage. I had fun trying not to get TFT into the drink lol
