tony, you're not giving yourself enough credit. People think that you're the best Brad online, and when you're not using Brad, I think people believe that you still are a good player. Personally, I think that you have good fundamentals and mix ups. They're better than mine. You kept getting me with the same throw because of the threats you pose with your striking attacks. Forget about combos and foot positions. I think that understanding frames and mixing it up are more important elements to this game, and you're understanding of these is apparent. Your Phasing Turn setups are nice too. I don't know how to setup what you do. Your timing is definitely advanced, which you need for them. I don't know if I'd able to evade what you do, but you make it sound easy. You're overall a noticeably better player than I am. Don't think that I'm definitely going to surpass you. Thanks for the games, we should play again soon.

lmao tony, ggs. That set was the exact reason i kept telling u i would play u later tonite. Then i went to settings to go hidden/show offline. But someow when i switched from mw2 to vf5 it put me right out there on front street and u invited me and i didn't want to be like, no no i'm playing vf now, but i'll play u later, lol. ggs my man. i was just trying to match ur abare, which is stupid, since u were playing ur style, and i was then TRYING to play some random style. look forward to playing u again. oh yeah, nice wall game

GG's Tfam... your Lau is very strong just like your Brad. You use a lot of mix ups that I am just not use to... yet!

In regards to my DM abare, seriously dude I need to start saving some of our matches so you can see just why I used DM those 3-4 times towards the end of a match.

Whether it's the beginning of a match, the middle of a match, hell don't let it be the end of a match. YOU JUST NEVER STOP ATTACKING... NEVER MAN! Why do you think when my move is blocked I just go SDE anyway because if you pick a slow launcher or delayed throw that you like to use I win the guessing game. Even if I'm knock down you saw how I reacted I just stayed down fuck tech roll, get back up try to connect just 1 DE or 2P and then go SDE or evade 46P.

And towards the end of a round is the only time you play defense, but that defense is just to crouch and watch very carefully if your opponent will dash and throw if they do you NEVER throw which should be very easy for you if you are that focused, but instead you like to use 2P cause it's guaranteed. I don't know if you know but there are a lot more better things guaranteed than 2P. And if your 2P get's block then it's a barrage of 2P with caution... usually by the 3rd blocked one you will maybe evade in hopes an attack is coming. If you remember after a while I stopped going for throws at the end of a round and just started using 26PP instead of if I blocked your 2P i just crouched and waited for the other 2-3 and then tried to do something.

I'm not trying to start nothing, but seriously you should check out how you answer to a lot of the situations people put you into... a lot of the times you are attacking out of the problem or quick evade right into an attack.

Look at some of the situations you put me in like the 42P+G throw. There is no point in trying to escape the many options Lau can get from this throw, but the first time you used it you ran up and threw me which gave you a side throw. RIGHT THERE I LEARNED! Meaning the next time you used that throw again I just recovered a little to avoid the big launchers, fuck the small damage cause it's guaranteed and right when you run up to throw I entered in the side throw escape. I failed on the 2nd and 3rd cause I was confused and forgot the command changes depending on what side you are on, but by the fourth one I escaped and I'm pretty sure I escaped the 5th one too. After that I don't think you used that throw any more.

That's what adjusting is and frankly not many people do that online. Everyone just runs there bread and butter all day long because it works and no one knows how to stop it.

A lot of you guys have way more skill than me whether you want to believe it or not, but your problem is in my opinion you guys are not practicing the right things or your not forcing yourself to develop alternate methods to escaping a situation.

My defense is really not that good when compared to KingofVF of Gentleman Thief, but the reason why a lot of you guys thinks it's good is cause my defense reacts to your patterns. I have a lot of patterns, but only a few players exploited them. The reason a lot of players don't is because like I said early it's all about the bread and butter, because that's what's been getting them the wins against other intermediate players, noobs or scrubs.

I take ti serious enough that I want to win, but my pride and my ego don't get hurt when I get whooped. I just try to learn from it for next time and get stronger. Truth be told, I'd rather be getting my ass kicked than winning easily and that's real talk.
My fun doesn't come from winning, my fun comes from figuring out how to stop losing. I get a bad feeling you take losing way too personal playa. So, come and whoop my ass, if you can. I ain't gonna take it personal, no matter how many down attacks after the k.o. you wanna hit me with, lol. But I know one of us is going to get they're feelings hurt more than the other if he loses

Rodney, thanks for taking the time out to school me, I'm kind of a twitch fighter, no real substance but every once in a while, I stop attacking... I mean, how else were you able to get all those throws on me? You and Dennis stay helping me step my game up, I'm always grateful. Glad you ain't take my comments negatively

Rikojjang, this guy wizzizooped my ass with his Lei. What a fucking BEAST! I've never had my ass handed to me so bad in my life. I don't care what anybody says, after you land head toward/face down and you do a Quick Rise there's a small window where you can't block. He musta hit me with that setup like 10 times and I was holding block. I can't blame lag for not registering it fast enough because as soon as I tapped all 3 buttons to QR, I kept G pressed down and still got hit. The only way I can explain it is that he times his attacks THAT well that even online he was consistent with it.

Well obviously you defend from time to time, everyone does... what I was saying is that you prefer attack over defense when at times can be very annoying because as your opponent it feels like I can't set you up. Instead I have to repeat the same thing over and over until it forces you to stop.

Like when we played Lei vs Brad the other day it was a similar case where I MC'ed you a couple of times and still you attacked. No sweat! Later on in same match I MC'ed you again a few times in a row tried to throw or used delayed attack... nope still you attacked.

Now I know you should remember this part... realizing you prefer the attack regardless of MC or not I purposely hit you with Lei's 66P followed by I think it was 4 more 66P before you finally tried to evade. That's 1 normal hit plus 4 MC in a row just to make you evade. This is the case I'm talking about so when I used those DM's it was more like " FUCK IT " I know he is going to attack and I don't feel like guessing I'll just take the cheap win, so I DM'ed for the KO!

 

Tony you hitting below the belt dude lmao.... First off if you think i take losing personal then your wrong.. I take losing serious because i want to get better and i hate the agony of defeat. Second place means you lost to first place and that don't sit well with me. Unlike you or many others im never satisfied with my efforts and i work on change and improvements daily without overcalculating. Do i go abare not much but if your patterns allow me to strategically slip a attack in then so be it. Your Brad offense is sick and ill give you that. But once i elimated your Little patterns/ strengths and flows you stood there like Chuck norris when bruce had that ass hemmed up against the wall with a broken leg and ripped chest hair lol!!! You attacked only to get countered and punished even further (I know you remember that fight.) As far as me stealing 5 from you thats bullshit lol!! I beat that ass 5 times in a row and then the words "No Mas" showed up instead of K.O.I never disconnected on you Brother i would never disrespect you like that. Those advices I told you via PM were based on my view, so the improvement was good against me. However, if you are already comfortable on your own style against others, you don't really have to force yourself to change.

thanks for the long session yesterday. U had 3 hrs or sleep for work? me too. im exhausted at work. I like the matches cause its very fast pace. I hope u didnt mind me playing with alot of pokes. Im implementing something in my game, I think its heading the right direction. I actually been studying VF4evo gohs. I wanted to try controlling the ring.. like distance wise.. it prob may annoy alot of ppl, since its basically moving back lots... but at the same im rushing in. I always want to stay crouched.. Well, not always but i feel goh plays well ducking.. So i should stop P after the initial p has been blocked.. me poking high high high, is quite dangerous.. Its annoying but, moves that ducks highs can really kill it, like attacking back with 2p, ur like ur CROUCHING IN CH uppercut. GG's give me a shout later tonight if u wanna play, i got no work tmr.

BTW good to see ur back man, theres alot of people the rob me the wrong way in VF..its not so much what they say, its their suttle arogance that pisses me off. But, you definately are one of the nicest guys around in VFDC. I prob come across as a wierd guy on VF always babbling.

That is fact. It is not listed in the wiki but the VF4 Evo training guide explains this in an exercise.

Basically while in quick rise animation immediately off the ground you are in a crouching state and can be hit by mid attacks. I'm not sure if you can be hit by lows or high attacks within that period.

 

I knew it! Myke and I think Plague (not sure) were saying that wasn't true. Rikojjang was timing his attacks to always connect during that small window. That window is so small and he was doing this ONLINE I gotta practice and get that kind of timing down.

 

There is a tiny window you are not able to block and yes, you can hit by high as well(Jeffry's K+G for example). However, the condition is way too limited and I don't think it's designed on purpose.

 

It is true you can be low thrown as well if the timing is correct.
