GG's to Happfriend Lau - Sorry for leaving so soon. You know better than to be doing some of the shit you do in battle. Im not calling you out but when you know something ain't working you insist on doing something different and i can't stick around for that.

 

Wait. Wait. Not to be dissing you (and I know I'm jumping into this conversation), but isn't that how the fighting conversation shows its awesomeness? I try something. I see it doesn't work. I try something else. Why would you want to leave if I did that?

 

Plague if a move does'nt work and you constantly get punished for it.... Would you keep doing it or change it up? The point is plague he never did. So i took like he was mocking me or something cause no vet can be that stubborn. I could be wrong though.

Sorry for jumping into the convo guys (fuck it, let's make it a party!) but... not to make excuses for Happy cuz I don't think he cares much anymore, but I think he plays under the influence a lot more than he used to. He can sit there and play chumps and whoop their asses all day but when he plays somebody that makes him think... well, I don't think he really likes that

 

Right. He even leaves when he loses to better players after 3 games. Konjou once told him in GG thread about this same autopilot habit and now i see first hand.

 

Well if I'm to hypothosize on this situation I'd say that Happy is now a casual gamer. SDS you're very much a competative player and tbh dude it's not fun playing you. It's fun BEATING you and winning against you (from a competative point of view). But if a person plays just for fun/casually then playing against someone who punishes everything, takes advantage of every mistake etc aint fun.

I'm pretty much playing casually atm. And SDS I know I'm not at your level but I reckon I've got this just about right.

 

In Lehman's Terms its not fun losing to me. I explained everything to you on how i dismantled you so easily. I never ever thought of you to be like this towards me. Blame Denkai, Konjou and GT for making me punish everything punishble. Im just preparing myself for whatever new version of VF that drops cause i wanna stay sharp. Im having fun playing and im sorry if your not. Happy is a different player than you so don't compare yourself to him. If its not fun playing me why did you join my game? As far as me being compaetitive i don't play in many tournaments but i play to have fun and get a challenge out of things. You can be casual and still enjoy yourself Diggery. you giving me a poor excuse to why you lost some matches. When you went on your 3 game win streak i focused and figured out how to stop your groove. You can do the same easily. don't make me seem like im a bad person on this site. I mean damn i never seen someone play to lose Diggery. Put it this Way SINCE you love Winning against me and hate losing to me we are actually the same.. Its just when i lose it drives me to improve upon mistakes.

BTW im just as casual as you. im playing to improve and have fun along the way with my VFDC peeps.

You shouldn't ever quit that way the scrubs like me have a great measuring stick to gauge our progress with by you tell us exactly what we need to do. St Seiju is like this and he will try to get going down the right path. Good guys like you are few and far between nowadays in the dying VF scene. I like our match today I hadn't a serious match in VF in about a while thx

Basically SDS I was trying to make the distinction between a competative player who plays to win and a casual player who doesn't really care. Like me atm although I am quite fond of winning in general.

Did my post not make sense? It was just talking about mindsets and stuff.

Yeah ok, there we go, that's not something a casual player would be too concerned about.

 

Here's a piece of advice that will help all players improve: focus on you.
Stop caring about why player A does what he does while player B does... whatever.
Do you.
Do what makes you happy.
I'll use Happy Friend as an example (no pun intended... seriously): He has stated numerous times that he does not want to learn all of the frame data and which way to evade and all of this technical stuff that when compiled can make a huge manual on how to play the game best.
Here's a guy who plays STRICTLY for fun. He doesn't mind playing a BDouble Blade-type of player over a Konjou-type of player and get easy wins all day long.

Some players concern themselves waaaay too much with what the other player is thinking and that, imho, can hold you back.

It's one thing to try to outguess your opponent in battle but it's a whole other thing to try to guess how they're feeling and what their mood is today. Did they have a rough day at work? Have they gotten laid lately? Etc, etc, etc...
Let it be, quit worrying about WHY they do do what they do and do what you do.

I used to have that problem with players like Happy, Ladon and even Overfiend, players who I know, hate to lose. It bothered me bc I used to be more casual and played just to have fun and do "cool and flashy" stuff. And here were these guys who would do ANYTHING it took to win. As long as they got the W, that's all that mattered to them. Even if they got it from whoring out 2P (Ladon), using random DMP+K's (Overfiend) or spamming certain moves (1KK-Happy Friend). It would tick me off cuz it made me think "Is losing REALLY THAT serious/bad?" I would mess up by thinking about how they must think that I'm the biggest "loser" since they used to keep beating me and, to them, losing is so "bad".
That kind of mindset would take me out of the game. Out of the fight and what was going on. Instead of focusing on tendencies and habits, I was worrying about what they were thinking about ME

That's why heavy stomping after the KO, quitting after only a few matches, DMP+K/2P abuse, spamming, etc. just doesn't affect me emotionally or mentally anymore.
I'm too focused on beating what you're trying to do. I'm not concerned with what you're thinking about me or what my/your "feelings" are.

Just the other day, I got taken out of my game by a comment made about Brad Idk wtf I was thinking but that shoulda never happened and I aim to never let that happen again. I shoulda/woulda/coulda addressed it AFTER the fight but instead, I got taken out of my zone and started to think about the comment that was made instead of thinking about the fight.

There's even players who have stopped playing me because they can't take me out of my zone and shake me mentally. Some players rely heavily on fucking with you mentally.

Edit: There's nothing wrong with doing WHATEVER it takes to win. If DMP+K works on you, I will do it. If you can't handle 2P very well, I'm going to low punch your balls off. If there's a move in my arsenal that you keep getting hit with, I will spam it.
Good players DO WHAT WORKS and I aim to be a good player.
There's no cheating in VF.

 

I tried to be PC but.... You got your Arse handed to you and Quit. Simple. Unlike most of you who get their ass whipped and want to come up with lame excuses.I want to get better because im tired of Adam, Denkai Konjou and Cidkid Running New York in VF(With all due respect.)..I want in. Im fortunate to live next to Cidkid and to be the man you have to pay the man. AS far as you go Diggery. You know too much in VF to all of a sudden call yourself a casual VF player now. You step better than me but opt to show end rounds instead of using it to keep me off balance mid round (Ur not the only one.)

@T-Fam - Brothers argue. won't be the first and damn sure wont be the last. Be all that you can be and Ill be waiting lol.

Boris TBF you have the habit of either playing very well or very badly, all the time. What I do if I win too easily against you, I normally quit when winning one, and I KNOW that you will come hunting for me and play well. you say you are casual, but I know that it pisses you off to lose, so I use that to [boobs] subtly condition you.
