Social Ruin.

I'm really enjoying those mirror matches. Its almost enough to make me want to dive back in and ditch the pai. but i won't. instead, i'll continue to use him for our mirror matches. warning, and compliment, careful with 66kk soo much, not everyone will try to throw as much as i do...doh! and compliment, great consistency on doing your throw escapes off of it. its just one of those moves i naturally can't break the habit of throwing (like OMP) even tho i know its stupid and i shouldnt.

Do to goh, i think your acclamation is fast-tracked. I'm interested to see what kind of flow charts you'll come up with. then i'll steal them. look forward to doing it again. its more fun than being beat up all over the ring by your goh and lei fei, lol.

 

Great games to Jide tonight. I haven't played you in a loooooong time and I forgot how good you are.

It was great to play such a solid Kage again, haven't seen a kage that good in a long time.

I noticed a couple of things about my own play in those games. The big one being that when I'm losing I try to "go big" and fling launchers out of my arse trying to score some big damage. The times I physically stopped myself from doing that I done much better. It seemed like you were waiting on those high angles every now and then.

Your wall game is very strong. Had me hurting big time. Rung me out a few times with TFT, sometimes when it s hould have been an obvious break on my part .

I was very happy with my Jacky's performance though, been playing a lot more Blaze recently and I just went back to Jacky yesterday against Marly. Was still quite sharp with him.

Anyway great games, man. I hope we can play again some time soon!

 

GG's Gentlemanthief - Sick ass Akira!!! You defense is still Top-notch to the point i can't stand it. Straight Head up or shut up. I was well rested tonight so i had to get my shit together for you. Thanks for the matches. Nice Adaptation.

 

ggs to twp, thanks for the games, sorry i couldn't stay longer. I usually play vf right before the gym, it helps get my energy up. The only problem is then i don't wanna quit and end up cutting into my gym workout. Fun games. Sorry bout so much 2p, i'm real rusty/out of practice and it's easier than defense

 

It's all good homie, I remember trying to learn Akira, and even Aoi and I was moving like that initially... Real talk, a gangload of those matches were full of mad shenanigans, but it was still fun though... Throw breaks were getting back on track though for not playing after awhile... Gotta keep a cat on his toes, eh??? I wanted to get some matches in and see how my Aoi faired, but Network+ classes the next day with a boring instructor ain't so fun with 5 hours of sleep...

btw social, on topic of 2p. I was in a party chat with ppl. i asked ppl who do u think needs to use 2p the most. top 3. and who could be without it top 3. IMO, i said, AKIRA, GOH, WOLF, (SHUN) really need to use it more.. but thats my opinion. i couldnt really come up with the top 3 that use it less. neways, i wonder what y'all think...

 

@ Social: No problem man. I think your better at the game than me at this point anyway. With or without 2p its an uphill battle. You def understood Akira better. You can probably cleanly beat me with anyone you use. My mains being the only exceptions.

@Jinxhand; Yah they were cool. One things for sure; learning a new character makes Shennanigans that much harder to stop! As far as movement yah that's true but when I say I was trying to play like plague and some of the better akiras. They don't seem to move around as much and just look for mistakes. I think I did better when I wasn't as offensive. I'm also using Akira to get into the mindset of hit, response due to advantage and disadvantage. So that's why I have been throwing so many dashing elbows. Dennis was trying to school me on where the mind game is.

Its a much different mind set than say Shun or Jeff.

I'm back in the virtua scene guys. I got a whole lot of new tricks coming once I get my hands back. I'm going to do it the old school way by just playing until it comes back.

hey thanks twp. But, eh. You were at your strength when i was just starting--about a 1 1/2-2 years before i was at my best. And now you've been not really into vf for quite a while. I mean in all honesty, in another 1-2 years i see myself being where you are now. Even more casual. Even further removed. Etc etc etc. Even now, i feel like i am just slowly getting worse and worse. I understand the game better i suppose. I just don't play it very often.

Maaad fun. Yo Coz, the connect was super slow, but who cares though, shit was fun anyways.

Kamais, yo you leveled up and you were playing solid today. I was impressed and I had lots of fun.

Lucky, you know the deal,man. I gotta say though, when we was picking different characters, your Pai is the sickest. Yo I'm not going to be playing Sarah anymore btw though, officially dropped. I'm thinking about sportin Eileen, thing is I only played a couple matches using Eileen cause I couldn't remember any moves.

Slide: Thank you for the games today, I always knew you were great and maybe we didn't see eye to eye that well but to be honest I have a new-found respect for you. You were really awesome with Jacky, your hit-checking was through the roof it was really pushing my limits and damn I saw the picture of the staggering joystick so many times that I started getting a little dizzy lol. Hopefully we can get some more games again in the near future when we both are a little less rusty and have another learning experience, gg's!

Social_Ruin: Nice playing with you again man, I said I'd give a few tips here but I just messaged you on XBL. Connection was flawless, sorry about slipping a bit after the first disconnect but I was starting to get very dehydrated with my sauna of a room! I'm very excited to see the development of your akira in the following weeks, good luck!

Well I'm back, used the 1 month live card that Shirt generously gave me so when I'm online and you want someone to play with invite me!

 

Hehe Slide is getting his rust off too. Sry I missed you last night, I would have loved to have played again. Glad to hear your hit checking is still top notch.

I'm going to be hopping online sometime between 5pm-9pm tonight eastern time. In case peeps want to try and catch me floating in player matches.

It would be cool to kinda know when people try to find random matches. Since there are so few people online (least when I've been hopping on) it'd be cool to know when traffic will be higher.

 

Yeah but to be fair I was using Akira and I did win with a full screen DLC which counts as at LEAST 10 wins.

 

Bro I'd say after 9 PM is your best bet. Even closer to 11 PM eastern time. It's like the Easterners are getting their games in before going to sleep and the Westerners are just getting online.

That being said it's good to see some old heads getting back into the game. A lot of them are switching characters (but Eileen? Really?) but I think that's the beauty of VF. You can really find a new adventure a character slot away.

I'm looking to get on now, but after 1 or some pm PST today, I dont know when I'll be back on.

The other characters I use, are already represented enough. It's kind of a bore to me, to see the same characters being played. FS videos of Eileen made me give her a second chance, and there's no Eileen representation here in socal.
