Thanks for all the links and points you keep posting.

I am aware of Edward Chang tho, I've got a few of his faqs from gamefaqs.com tho he's only really written stuff for GGXX as there is hardly any info about #Reload there. Other than the odd Dizzy, Potemkin small "add on guides" to other faqs.

I've seen some Slash tutorial vids on Google vidoe for all chars...shame I can speak fluent Japanese lol. Order Sol looks real fun to mess around with. Dust Loop is certainly a good place to check out tho, thanks for the link.

My copy of Slash is currently flying over from Hong Kong so I'll get to see the differences soon enough...

Oh yeah, it's a port of Turbo for the 360 isn't it? Or is it Hyper? I can't recall what I read somewhere.

The ST tourney has no set date atm but it's called Battle in the Basement. I'm not sure if it'll be held at Casino or not. There's a piece about it on the front of Neo Empire's site. Link:

    http://www.neoempire.net/battleofdestiny/news.htm#SUPER_TURBO_TOURNAMENT_BATTLE_IN_THE_BASEMENT

(LOL you can make out Mike, Dinosaur and Chef in the second pic)

There's an 8 man Slash tourney this Sat and then a #Reload tourney afterwards or something.

Is Jericho still around, not seen him on msn for a while?

LM_Akira: If you want the wargasm tutorial vids (which though they are in japanese, still explain some tech and you can learn the combos after a few viewings), they have them for reg'd people at RomanCancel. They also have something called the Absolute DVD matches (a DVD that came with the preorder of slash) that showcases Kaqn's Order Sol and Die Chan's ABA.

Out of curiousity, who all is everyone in here trying to play?

Yeah I've seen all the Tutorial Vids on Google Video (they're all there).

Oh and as of about 3 days ago I'm registered on DL as LM_Akira, thanks for the link.

In #Reload, my main is Venom and I like to mess around with Dizzy, Potemkin, Testament, Ky, Baiken and yes, Sol.

Well, I mess around with them (too many I know) but the 4 main chars I try to play a bit are Venom, Sol, Dizzy and Potemkin.

When I get Slash I'll be sticking with those 4 I think and also want to pick up a bit of Order Sol and ABA just as they're new (excluding Isuka!).

Vith, LOL glad you said CvS2...if you check out ebay there is a sole page dedicated to people selling SVC:Chaos. LOL Awful game to try and play.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/

    Do a search for svc:chaos.

    The shame, the shame!

i dont get why people call sf2 aniversary "hyper"

this has to mean that they didnt get to play "street fighter 2 turbo : hyper fighting" properly 1st time around:p

put it this way, as "hyper" af2 aniversary is on ps2 and xbox1 already, and has been proved to be a broke game, i doubt they would put that on x360 live

sf2 turbo is arguable the mass fav, and i might add better then ST...

anyways i aint seen jerico for time but he does hav like 3 msn names

ohh and why dont u go to any of these tournys you keep mentioning:p

GG is good, i miss my ps1 version:p maybe i'll get a copy of this new one and give it ago, only so i can get some wins in the arcade tho:)

I've always called A.E. Hyper Street Fighter 2 because I have the PAL version and that's what it's called, Hyper Street Fighter 2:

    http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=srmr&page=title&r=PS2&title=156875

I've played since the World Warrior days (and that was on an imported Jap Famicom/local arcades) but I always just called SF2Turbo:Hyper Fighting, "Turbo".

The Slash tourney is booked up (was only 8 man to begin with and all 8 places were gone before I knew about it) besides I'd get brucked on GG lol.

As for travelling down I've always had a mixture of time, work and money issues getting in the way. Lame I know. Once we reach June I should definately be able to arrange something tho.

well your a fool, that bastard ps2 version came out jap like 6 months b4 the uk one

you "claim" to of played world warrior since it came out but the way i remember it, sf2 came out in april 91, and champion edition in dec/jan 92

WW came out on sfc in june 92 and the uk one in late oct 92, so basicly when u got your uk sf2 the arcades would of been full of the pirate champion/black belts...

and the funny thing is, you claim to of been a old school sf2 player but you got raped by every one when the london crew played you

the concensus was that you must of just got the game.

your just used to the console names as sf2 turbo is the snes name, where as the arcade name is hyper fighting, try look it up

ohh and a hint would be not to look at a shit hole web site like play.com hahaha

On the Hyper/Anniversary SF thingy (Concerning the PS2 releases):
Hyper Street Fighter is the broken SF2 amalgam thingy. The Anniversary edition also includes Third Strike. In Europe we got Hyper Street Fighter with the movie seperately and Third Strike never got released on the PS2. Well, this is at least true in Holland. I'll be having a serious look around in the game stores in Bordeaux this summer.

Its bloody annoying mind you, being unsure what has and has not been released, since I can't rely on IGN or Gamespot for release dates et all, if stuff gets released at all in Europe. (Need I crack open the Xenosaga debacle? A game with a German name never getting a German release is simply nuts...)

    Guilty Gear:
My favorite flavour is Zappa with a hint of Testament and Venom. But I'm not very good with the latter two. My success with Zappa on the other hand is about as random as the guy looks. But there's not much of a 'GG scene' here I must add, and its been a month or so since my last game... -_-'

If you recall right before you all came up, I'd even said I didn't play SF2 on a stick, I'd played on a pad all the time (besides playing in the arcades time ago). Then jericho kicked off on the thread cos I said I used a pad. So I started trying to use a stick to play it properly, about 3/4 weeks or so before I played you guys. I only had about 3 matches of SF2 with you all (1 vs jericho don't know about others) so you can barely call 3 loses a "raping by everyone" and it's not even enough to base a general consensus on.

    I never got UK SF2.

I always played my cousins Jap SF2 on their famicom or in whatever arcades had it around then. When Turbo was on the SNES I always played my mates US version of Turbo. Besides I knew the arcade subtitle was "Hyper Fighting" but why does that mean you can't call A.E. "Hyper"? It's also the subtitle on the front of the instructions of the Jap famicom version:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STREET-FIGHTER-2-T...1QQcmdZViewItem

A hint would be to read what the title says on the PAL box. I could have put up 3 or 4 different links to show the cover of the game from whatever websites. Play.com didn't do the design of the box or write or come up with the name on the front of it.

The PAL version is called Hyper Street Fighter 2: A. E. that's why people abbreviate it to HSF2.

In fact so is the Jap version anway:

    http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-40-77-b-49-en-15-street%2Bfighter-70-2rf.html

Incidentally, why don't you call C.E. "Dash" or SSF2T/Super Turbo "SSF2X" if they're the Jap/arcade names for them?

mmm, funny how you picked up on sf2 games normaly identified by their subtital ie sf2: the world warrior, sf2: champion edition... sf2: aniversary edition and so on

    the thing is LM akira

your mouth, online is sooooooo big it needs a slap

and in real life your as quite as a mouse

do you really see yourself as some gaming genius or do you actualy know deep down that you cant play for shit, and "live" your life thru internet msg board on games you cant play...

do use all a favour and go to game and get whatevers the lates game and go play that for a while.

haha, or better yet, go to your cousins and play on snes with pad

all i know is, if your such the long time sf2 player, using "i cant play with stick" is definitve proof that your some guy that "rinses" excuses

    Nice one. /versus/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Back on topic, has anyone who's played Slash yet noticed many differences with how Venom plays? More importantly there is a host of bugs and glitches in the console version of Slash apparently, there's a big list of them up on DL. Has anyone noticed these first hand or does anyone know how they effect the game? Some say that some things make chars almost un-usable.

Venom is very different for several reasons, when he hits with the attack ball he gets a 3 hit electrified ball rather than a regular one, he has the new D ball which gives him additional changes to his already pretty weird setup, and he can double hit balls. His super is still great, though on the negative they slowed down a couple of his normals I believe (2D for sure, not sure about anything else). As far as the glitches go, the only truly practical one is the ABA one, outside of that it is of little consequence.

Cheers. Finally got my copy thru yday but only played a little so far. Order Sol is fun to mess around with and I used a little bit of Venom but not enough to be able to spot his changes.

I havn't tested it yet but is it true that Reload Sol is far faster than in Slash? Also has Baiken been beefed up? I saw some discussion on another site somewhere she had.

  20. thebradSHow

    thebradSHow Well-Known Member

Baiken is my main, I can list any change you want, she gains tension faster, she gets guaranteed damage after the chain follow up, she can JC her 6HS for more easy damage combos, and some interesting loops, she can after her 6K with more than just tatami now, she can do it with 5HS and 2HS (with the new 2HS stun and the fact it's advantaged on hit and block). Venom, play him more, his changes are subtle and glaring at the same time, the new hit ball is a great addition, the double hitting of balls is a great thing, and the only downside is some balance on some of his normals (his sweep is slower now but still goes low just as fast). Order Sol is fun to mess with but you better be good if you wanna take him seriously.
