I have a relevant question: is there a rule or do all knockdown attacks cause "wall splat"?

I'm asking because in the "spinning knockdown" section it is mentioned that

but there's no mention about wall hits in the (regular) knockdown section.

You need enough damage for a wallsplat (21?, the magic number in most cases) instead of just a wallhit. So it just depends on the damage of the KND move, spins can cause splat but then again they may not, depends on damage.

On a typical forward-facing opponent it takes a minimum 25-damage point impact to cause a wall splat, and 21 minimum for a wall stagger. This applies for an attack that either knocks the opponent backward into a wall, or knocks the opponent spinning while very close to the wall. And basically any attack outside of [3][K] that wall staggers on Normal Hit should wall splat on Counter Hit.

However, knocking a side-turned opponent into a wall is a different story. A mere 10-point attack like a single jab can cause a wall stagger in this case. But I'm not sure of the minimum damage value point to cause a wall splat on a side-turned opponent at the moment. I will have to test this out in the dojo to figure it out.

6/21 8:25 pm ET Edit: I just went into the dojo and tested for the damage value it takes to hit a side-turned opponent into a wall splat. Apparently it is the same value as if the opponent is facing forward -- 25 points minimum.

So, let me get this straight; near walls, vertically:

21+ dmg moves that don't knockdown (and don't force crouch or sideturn either): wall stagger
21+ dmg moves that knockdown: wall slump
25+ dmg moves that knockdown: wall splat

Does this sum things up coherently for the time being? AFAIC it is compatible with my (limited to vanessa) experience.

    Well it depends.

It is 25+ damage for the wall slump animation to occur off of a spinning knockdown if this happens too far away from wall to get splat. I believe this is the answer you're looking for now.

But also keep in mind that a wall slump can also happen with a 21-point damage attack that's done during the middle of a wall combo.
