Yeah. It's interesting that the commentaries are pre recorded, sports game style. Listening to it right now it's not so bad especially since it's something new. I can see it get old though after a while.

 

Is there an english version of this feature planned for PS3?

Pai Looks deadly in some of her movies.

I'm definitely liking some of Akira's new movies, including that throw he has which knocks the person high up in the air open for tons of juggles. It is in a sense, Akira's TFT juggle. Music looks to be improved from the previous game. Vanessa's catch throw after a couter kick or knee is a lot better now. Instead of choking the person in 3-4 phases in which they are easily escaped, it's now one good knee. And speaking of Vanessa's new image. It's definitely a let down as far as her uniqueness. It's quite easy to make characters physically beautiful. Square and other companies always does it. But when will someone get the balls to create a character that isn't all beauty and sex and more business and realistic. We're not stupid, it's obvious they whitened her, making excuses for tans, or any other excuse is stupid. Are we to believe she was hanging around on the beach too much despite being a militaristic girl and all of a sudden, she no longer enjoy that activity??? Now I may be wrong, But I can't remember the last black female that made it into a Fighting game without some feature that obviously isn't exactly black. IE.. Blue or Green eyes, asian or caucasion hair texture and/or white hair, pointy nose or excessively miniscule lips and so on.

Finally I noticed it showed up on the other thread. Some people mention what is Vanessa's ethnicity one thought she was derived from Africa, another aren't sure, maybe Brazillian. First off, Africa is a continent and therefore has tons of variation on their people. That would be like putting Chinese, Japanese in the same type of broad "oriental" as Cambodian, Laos, Thailand, Vietname and other southeastern asian folks. Even the more broader term "asian" is grossly non descriptive as that now invoves South Asian Pakistans and Indians, South Eastern Island Indonesians, North Asians like Russians and Mongolians, Midwestern Afganistans, Uzbekistans and a few of the other "stans" of that area, and West Asians like Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Israeli and the other arabian countries.

With that said, African Americans have a tremendous amout of variation within that broad group due to various amount of white and/or native american genes within that group. BRAZIL is key. Brazil has an even larger Native american mixture than African American, along with the white and even some south Asian indians brought over. BUT understand this, Brazil has THE LARGEST POPULATION of People with African Decent of any Country Outside of countries in Africa. That means MORE than even the US. Brazil also has the higest Percentage of people of African decent than Any country outside of Africa and countries which are obviously a "black" country like Haiti, Martinique and so on where the percentage is some 90-95 in those countries.

With that said, due to the fact that Male characters could be "cool" and functional if they appear black as long as they are cool, Female characters on the other hand "MUST" be sexy and beautiful to appear as leads in games or movies. Popular and racist derived culture at the same times state that Black, especially if dark aren't beautful and thus why black features are often absent or modified in popular media which include games. The X-Men, a comic whose premise is directly about black people in white society, changed to be mutant in a human society (ie. the Malcolm X vs. Martin Luther King angle of Magneto and Professor X's stance), but even in that book, there isn't a major black character whose features are fully black. Storm has white hair and blue eyes and often lighter skin, Bishop isn't major but in the late 90s they state that he is at least partially of Aboriginee decent (Jeffery anyone??), the others are even more minor and never stay "X-Men" for any extended period of time.

This ethnicity and race characteristics babble do not really belong in this thread IMO.

There is a Japanese version planned for VF5. But commentary... I don't really know if that will be included.

 

Did I hear some taunts in the jeff vs jacky commentated match? I thought I heard "something wrong?" around 2:20 then immediately answered by 66p+g where the announcer said something in retort fashion. Someone clue me in? btw it does sound pretty cool. (and yes i can understand some of it and not just j-cool sound cockriding)

 

At 2:20.. the announcer says "down attack" "elbow" "knee strike" "well, it's decided!!!"

Maybe I watched the wrong clip.. or 2:20 is not the right time... but I didn't see or hear anything close to what you described..

Saaaa for sommersault kicks is quite cool. Learning more about how people actually talk about the game from this, instead of just knowing how to read about it. Kind of need to know the move names though, although I guess this is a great chance to learn.
