woi, he has it at Enter La now? Versus Cab? please say its a versus cab.

By the way, punk, its an HOUR DRIVE for me so the whole, "lets play here because its closer for me" makes me laugh more than it makes me sympathetic. HOWever, Enter La means comfort and bathrooms so that is a winner! Plus we can all go for Dim Sum (or just eat in the food court) later! Yay!

No it's not in a VS City. Vince has an aversion to Naomi2 games in VS City cabinets (he says they're not compatible). It's in the same sort of setup as at Video Funland -- it's an NA machine so Brad has a different outfit. Llan has also told me that the monitor is not as good as the one at Video Funland.

Saturday Dec 7th. the skinny.

Ok. Here's the skinny....

This Saturday (December 7th) were going to be playing VF at Metro Square (aka. Enter La). Enter La has a couple several over Video Funland. First being, it's not as crowded, and it's quiter. The second, and probably the most important is washrooms! Last, but not least, is the food (and the bubble tea). Mmm soy-sauce chicken, sticky buns, and bubble tea -- not too mention dim sum, pho, and if we feel richy-rich pekin duck . Man I love those little pancakes...

So,

Enter La,
Saturday the 7th
Noon to 5 (and probably back again around 10 or so till close)

If I remeber correctly Enter La is in Metro Square which is located at the North West corner of Steeles and the street just west of Warden (Ferrier I think?). Llany, can you confirm or deny these directions?

Yup! Metro square is just west of Warden/Steeles. U cant miss the mall on the north side.

How long are you guys planning on staying on the 14th? I have to work on a project at school on that day but the labs close at 4pm, so I can probably make it out for 5 or 6.

 

FREE PLAY - Dec 21, 2002 - Metro Square

Hey gang,

Just finished getting things setup with Vince. Our next gathering should be a good one, and we're going to run it a little different this time.

<font color="white">Metro Square (North side of Steeles, 1km East of the 404 before Warden)</font color>

<font color="white">Saturday, December 21st, 2002</font color>

<font color="orange">Time:</font color>
<font color="white">Starting at Noon, sharp and finishing when they kick us out.</font color>

<font color="orange">Cost:</font color>
<font color="white">10 bucks. The machine will be set to free play.</font color>

<font color="orange">Format:</font color>
From 12:00 pm until 4:00 or 5:00, we will be running a <font color="white">training/practice/learning session</font color> . This will be time for everyone to practice things from combos to throw escaping to OS, new characters, etc. I will have both the <font color="white">Perfect Guide</font color> and the <font color="white">Green Book</font color> on hand for anyone wishing for reference.

The purpose of this will be to start <font color="white">getting everyone's gameplay up</font color>. Practicing is key and very difficult when people are always knocking you off the machine, right? So, hopefully this type of setup will help.

From 5:00 pm or so onwards we'll start challenges and maybe round off with a quick and dirty tourney - who knows. But for the most part, I want people to come out and play their asses off and learn and get better.

Please please please respond and let us know that you'll be attending - This is crucial for planning.

Also, please inform your friends who do not read the board very often (or at all). BMF, your friend came out last time - played Shun - get him to come out again and we'll get his Shun up to speed. Fokfu, can you let Ken know please?

Hey guys! I was in metro square yesterday and managed to bump into Robbie! Too bad he wont be around on the coming saturday. But at least I got his new cell phone #. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

And I should report that the 1st player kick button is kinda busted & 2nd player punch button is pretty much gone. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

I'm going to try to make it out there this Saturday, hopefuly for the entire duration of the event. It sounds like it's going to be a great opportunity for all of us to hone our skills, and then get in some serious competitive play. I only hope my complete lack of knowledge concerning Evo won't be my downfall /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif. Hope to see all you guys there!
