Right before VF4 came out, I wanted to get back into VF again. Since I missed out on 3 I thought what the hell. Since then this site has been #1 for me. VFDC 4 LIFE!!!

I honestly cant remember the first time I got here, but it must have been around vf2-vf3 times, when I was looking for ascii guides for virtuafighter. One of those guides must have referenced this place. I went years before I dared to make my first post here.

If I remember correctly, it was my fellow Finn Manjimaru, who pointed me in this direction /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Well... I think I was looking for some info on VF4. I found the page whe looking for a FAQ. Then I registered in 2003 but didn't start posting until 2006. This has been my number one site for VF since I don't know when.

I can remember seeing a commercial on the original Virtua Fighter 4 in MTV while hanging out with my relatives at my aunt's apartment. While coming home, I turned on my computer to Google anything on the series, and eventually, I found this site. Once in a while I come here for the command list, but I started to become a member of this site since June of last year.[/size]

Actually, I also think I came to this site from Hardcoregaming.com...well, back when it was that.

Maybe there was a link, I dunno. Ed's site was put up after we had this forum though. I'm pretty sure that you had registered on this forum, Shadowdean, before the VFDC version - i.e back in its transition from the ACPC forum.

Actually, come to think of it, we had to reregister for this forum with the closing of the ACPC forum. Hence why many of us have that Sept 23ish, 1999 creation tag.

Got here while searching for virtua fighter artwork I believe. This was during the VF4E days. I registered immediately, but didn't activate my account until a couple months later when I got a reminder e-mail that they were cleaning out the unused accounts.

    Aside:
If you search for "virtua fighter" on google this site is no3 on the list. This place got a nice index there then (1 = sega, 2 and 2.5 = wikipedia, 3 = vfdc), I figure the url helps a lot.

damn i forgot all about Ed's site back then. that was a sweet web site, it had a lot of good old school info on it. it looks like they took it down. i cant remember how i got here but it was back in 97 or 98 and most likely through Hardcoregaming.com

I was googling to find some information about vf4 (how unlock the items and things like that) and i found the old vfdc.
Unfortunately vf4 was at the ultimate ages so i didn't get too well to vf4 (and i didn't have a stick for ps2).
So for a long time I didn't come to visit the forum.
But when vf5 came out I returned so now i'm here ._.
I now, I'm not a great poster but... on vfhome sometimes i had fun with other guys .-.

I found this place by Googling "Virtua Fighter".

If there is one thing we all have in common, except for the anonymous hackers of 1999, we have all registered, This is how we came here.

You bet i remember Shota, and dont forget Harold (Kage player) We all were in Japan together in 98 (Ed, Shota, and Harold, and Jhow was to), and made many trips to Chicago to play them for the weekend. and last time i saw them was in NY i think 99 or 2000.

I was just browsing around the net and around the time the Miami crew was going and that's how I found the place. Lurked for a bit until Ladon made me sign-up and I'm glad I did. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I just wanted to know how get the button config to stay the same when I played online (guess you had to change em for the P2 side too hahah). Went to gamespot to find out how and as I was reading through some of the threads I kept seeing people mention virtuafighter.com, so I checked it out one day and here I am.

Already mentioned it in the Anarkira's Interview with Myke thread, but may as well mention it here.

Before VFDC, the VF online community gathered in the USENET news group called rec.games.video.arcade, and I was pretty actively involved with that. We also used to hang out on the EFNet IRC channel #vfhome, which is still active today.

When VFDC was established by ice-9, he started publicising it on the news group. I think he was first met with some opposition, but eventually most, if not all, the RGVA regulars started to visit the site on a regular basis, me included.

To be honest, I didn't think the site would last, but here we are some 10 years later! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I think many of us thought the same. But when I look at what you've compiled for this site - including snips from RGVA - it's quite the VF community compendium. That alone makes it nostalgically attractive to many of us who were part of the RGVA community. Thanks for the hard work, Myke.

I think I either came across VFDC on RGVA, or else from Hardcore Gaming or some such place.
