You can't be serious that you think the Yoho is harder than the KNEE... That's just not true at all...

yeah, except it's not almost... Those moves are night and day as far as difficulty goes. Be serious that's all I'm saying, I'm not trying flame you. The KNEE is HARD, the Yoho is EASY... 1 frame compared to 33P? 1/60th of a second...

The way I see it, if Akira's Knee were almost as easy to do as the YouHou, then I guess we wouldn't be here talking. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Now if you can pull the Knee almost as easy and consistent as a YouHou, then that's very good!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Since getting a stick I can do this move pretty well, i can almost use it consistently. I use my 1st and 3rd finger, I can't explain how I do it. I just tap G with my first finger really lightly and hold K.... I have been practicing it a lot over the last few days though.

I was thinking about this move earlier, do you really have to press and release G in 1 frame? cause it doesn't feel that fast. I know it says 1 frame on the frame counter in Dojo when I do it but if this game runs at 60 frames per second, doesn't that make it so you have to press and release G in 16 milliseconds?

Maybe my maths is wrong but 16 milliseconds seems awfully fast, I was wondering about the input times for the stun palm too. How many frames does that need to be inputted in?

Stun Palm is slower, I think the throw has to be inputted by the time the palm connects but I'm not sure...

For the KNEE I think it's hard to hit G for 1f at the same time as as I hit K for more than 1f. I always hit one button 1f before the other so it won't come out. Even though I'm good at hitting G for 1f it's hard for me to do it at the same time as K and then let G go. I try to position the very edge of my finger on G and flick but it's still HARD to do and when I want it to come out in a juggle or off the wall it's even harder.

no, the problem is I can pull the yoho as hardly and as inconsistently as I can pull the knee

No, I have the EX2. I still think its diagonal detection is rubbish. If you are in training and with the first Display Setting option on, how often can you go from a neutral position to a diagonal position like 3 without having 6 and 2 meddling in, even if just for one frame?

Well it is definitely possible on the pad!

    Kick-B button
    Guard-RB

Scratch the RB on its right tip. This one works better for me than to do it on stick.

I've come across the exact same thing.

  12. I have the EX2 stick as well, and It's Diagonal detection is pure shit...

There has to be a better stick out there somewhere.

    Umm, this is normal.

You guys do know that there are only 4 switches in the Joystick right? Up, down, left and right. A diagonal direction is registered by activating two switches (e.g. down and right).

The fact that one switch activates a mere 1, 2 or 3 sixtieths of a second earlier than the other is completely negligible. The input processor is smart enough to figure you out, provided you actually hit the diagonal cleanly.

Hitting clean diagonals in conjunction with button press timing, for those not use to fighting games or using a joystick, is a skill that takes time to acquire.

    Anyway, this is getting OT.

The diagonal directions are fine for me on the EX2, I had a bit of trouble at first seeing as I haven't used a stick in a long time but after a week or so they became easy.

I'd guess that whoever's having trouble with the diagonal inputs just haven't used the stick enough. There is no way that the YouHou move is harder to pull off than the knee.

I can pull off the knee most times I try know, it's pretty useful in combo's, the only move i'm having trouble with at the moment is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, I can't seem to input the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif fast enough to do the last hit.

That move is TOUGH! I agree, the inputs are ridiculously fast... I only get it 1 in about 10 tries, otherwise, the whimpier /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gifone comes out..

I'm not great at Akira, but I can land his knee pretty consistently. I use Plague's scrape method which I prefer to employ with my index and ring fingers.

My index finger goes on the RIGHT-MOST EDGE of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and ring finger on the center of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Just as I make contact with the buttons I slide both fingers to the right. What this does is slide my index finger OFF of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif while keeping the ring finger on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. If you wave your hand your hand in the air and press down as if to emphasize a musical note, that is sort of the same feeling you would apply to the stick.

I would practice landing a bunch of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif with the above placement of fingers before moving on with the sliding.

I actually found a really easy way to pull it off consistently. Basically like the other guy said go to practice mode and turn on the frame data. All you have to do is tap k+g for one frame which is pretty easy, just get the feel for it. After you get that down just hit k+g at the same time for one frame and tap kick once more fast. So basically you tap k and g at the same time only you double tap the kick. Works really well for me.

You don't have to double the kick button, you just hold it longer than you do the punch button. You can just tap both together and it works. When I do the knee and watch the frame data, I just tap both buttons and i'm normally holding kick for 1 - 3 frames and guard for 1 frame.

I think any method that involves releasing the kick button early is just making it harder for you. I do it as if I'm going to press and hold K+G, and scrape my finger off the G button as soon as it touches, keeping the K held for (relatively) ages, i.e. until I see the knee animation start.

What I do to get Knee is press /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif but as my finger hits /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif I make it release the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif button, so my thumb is getting launched off. This in combination with sanwa buttons allows you to get away with a fully pressed /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif while still pressing it for just 1 frame. As for what I mean with launching: rotate your right wrist so your thumb goes up, you should get the idea. Throughout the quest in evo I kept practicing this outside rounds(when I was victorious) and only started using it recently, though I prefer Yoho over it as a launcher because Yoho is far more consistent and since FT they're both near equally punishable by throw and other crap(Knee used to be only throwable at first).
