yes, it plays burned ps2 games. I have no idea what version I have. It's the same seriel numbers as The dude's. So he put the order for me. I got my ps2 a year after launch.

 

Hey...It just so happens that when William & I ordered our fliptop when got the wrong model too. We have the older (30001 or 8 hole) ps2 & we erroneously ordered the 10 hole (39001 or something) lid. If you are impatient (as we were) you can modify the modification with a steak knife/boxcutter/hungry gerbal. After about an hour, if you are careful, you'll have evo up and running. This is the ghetto solution BUT it is possible to make the fliptop that doesn't fit, fit. Keep in mind though that you might end up butchering the hell out of the case & your ps2 could end up looking very Road Warrior. For this reason, I can understand if you'd rather send it back for the correct model. Good luck /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Sanjuro.. I hear you. when I ordered mine, my friend looked underneath and it was 8 screws. So we ordered it and then when I emailed the guy, he said, it was not the right one. If it didn't fit, I needed a 10 screw one. Makes no sense to me! haha. Good luck Karl modding my flip top lid this weekend.

If you have any more issues with the lid, there is another way to play ps2 imports/backups using a technique called the "knife trick". Here's the link.

It works only for older PS2's and it doesn't void the warranty. It doesn't make much sense since if you have an older PS2 the warranty is probably out of date anyway, but whatever.

Ok guys.. I finally decided and planned out if I can go. I will definetly go to south carolina this weekend. I am not sure if any of you still plan on going, but I had to let Ghostdog know of my plans. My mom had to go see a doctor for her ears. We got a referral so it will be next week. So this saturday I will be able to go. So I can either leave Friday anytime after 9pm. Or leave Saturday early morning (6am) get there by noon and play some casual games and then enter the tourney and then stay for a bit and then head out early evening get back to lake county late night. So any of you coming? Let me know. Ghostdog, hope you didn't change your plans. Would love to see you come.
