Are you guys still planning on doing this, or has the idea kinda died off? Here in Toronto, I'm part of our (very active, and large) Soul Calibur 2 community. What we do, is tape the matches (if it's at the arcade, with a camcorder, if it's on console, then with the VCR), then we get somebody who has the proper equipment to cap them... then we host them and have the vids in a rotaion. I don't know if this is what you had in mind at all, but I know it works well for us.

I really don't have any idea, but the only people you see multicasting are video-intensive sites. Say, something playing lots of ASX files. For the most part, a large portion of the streamed stuff on the net is MOV (unfortunately) which to my knowledge, doesn't support multicast. In other words - I think multicast video is a niche market.

On the good side, you'd only need the stuff multicasted for the "live" portion of it. The rest you could archive at your leisure. I think the hard part would be getting the stream uploaded to a server relatively quickly.

    Well you can try www.splicehost.com

It's $30 a year and provides unlimited bandwidth per month (usually meaning a little over 20GB and they warn you). You only get 75MB but that is sufficent for storing a few videos or asx files. In that deal you also get your own domain name. Warning, it is a Unix server and I have never tried to stream movies through them. I would e-mail them to check and also visit microsoft.com and read up on windows media technology/serving. They try and make it as simple as possible to understand for everyone, you should be able to find your answers there.
