    Hello everybody.

Kind of fell of the planet for a while but I guess I am back now. Anyway, it seems there is still some trashtalking going on, so I imagine things haven't changed to incredibly much.

But, how is everyone's game going. I still havent' gotten an arcade stick yet!! /versus/images/icons/frown.gif But, getting more comfortable with the pad until that day comes.

Anyway, I should be able to attend a gathering or two next week so keep me posted on when they are. I am anxious to play some comp again and possibly pound all of you the way you deserve. hahaha. jk

Dude, what the heck is wrong with you Jedi? We are not that good yet. come on. I mean when we are good, we can break throws consistently. But not all of us are at the level of IMf and The dude. Look, it's cool that you are excited about this (us getting better) but to call out on the other's in the US, it's totally against how it's supposed to be done. We should just continue playing and if we get a chance, we can play people from Yupa or Feixaq's area. So anyways, conclusion.. there really isn't one unless you can read between the lines. lol. Anyhoo, that was a great quote from a great movie. Here is a quote for you. "I am not going to hold back on you now. I am going to pretend you are a man, a very beautiful man that I would like to take to the movies some day" Chris Tucker, Rush hour 2.

    Hey, it's almost week later...

I had a good time last Sunday. Sorry I couldn't make it Monday night... my niece's B-day party ended up being at 8:30pm... too tired afterwords to make the trek over to Blondie's house.

You've got a really good group of guys, with a lot of diversity. Keep playing and evolving... you all have the potential to become really good players. I haven't played any of the NYC guys recently, but from what I've seen, your best would be equally matched against the best in Boston and Toronto. Keep heading down the path you've started. One of the best things about VF is that you can mold the game into your own style and be effective. IMF and Blonde One are both unique players with Akira and Jacky, respectively. Unfortunately, I didn't get to play our host, but IMF has a twitchy, aggressive Akira. My only suggestion for IMF would be to throw more often to mix up his game. I'm kind of aggressive myself, and I end up having trouble sometimes with other aggressive players if my timing/rhythm is off, as I did with IMF, the Dude, and DeathBringa Sunday night. Also, I think IMF would have trouble with the better machi leaning players I know of like Robertson in Toronto and Adam Yuki in New York. I'm sure you could adjust to it, but you need experience against that style of play first. The twitchyness I mentioned above is one way to break a machi player, so you have the tools to do it.

Jedi, calling out grudge matches for money is kind of frowned on in the VF community as I know it. The NYC crew tried this at the end of VF3's life, and caught quite a lot of flak for it. Your enthusiasm is great, but be patient. Keep playing and getting better in your own group. The challengers from out of state will come... like Feixaq and I did. Your group is actually quite large... about 8 guys meeting twice a week to play VF is great. Here in Boston we're lucky if we can get 4-5 people together every other week.

If anyone is traveling to Orlando, I'd encourage them to contact Blonde One or Jedi Fei to play some VF4. I can guarantee you'll have a good time and meet some new friends.

A special thanks to Blonde One for rescueing me from a cab ride gone bad and also giving me a ride back to my hotel. If I'm in Florida again, I'll definately try to hook up with you guys again. Later.

Well folx, I hope some of you can make it to OD6 and yes, there will be a VF4 tournament for money. Of course how much money, will totally be dependent on the amount of people who are confident to play for $$$ whether it's a 2 dollar entry fee or 10 dollars it will be for $$$ and winner take all. Why money? That's just the way I game, and run tourneys, I like to think all our hard work and commitment is worth something more than a pat on the back.

The VF4 tourney won't start until slightly later than the others say 5 at the earliest because I want to make sure I can get Dan/Mataar and maybe my new student to play. However we can kick our own asses in the meantime and witness a very competitive atmosphere with the other games.

If you can make it cool shit, if not...oh shit...Overdose 6, play hard or submit to domination. Btw if you have a folding chair I suggest you bring it. Or something of the like /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

Hey Sean, will you have an snes with a tv hooked up for Killer Instinct? Just wondering. Or do I have to bring both a small tv and a system/game?

A good idea for dreamcast games is to bring a VGA adapter and a computer monitor and some speakers. I have the computer monitor, VGA adapter, and speakers..... but no dreamcast.

I have no problem at all with having prize money for winning tournaments. I just wanted to caution Jedi before he started another minor flame fest over a misunderstanding about something he posted. The New York guys were also offering to pay for travel expenses, room and board as their incentive to get the best from the UK to come to NYC to play VF3. Unfortunately, everything got completely sidetracked because of 9-11... If you organize a tourney like Uncauzi, and have everyone contribute to a pot that the winner can claim, that's cool, and I'd encourage it. If people think they're worthy, they'll make the effort to show up. But calling out another regional group specifically and offering them money if they can beat your group is not the way to do it IMHO. You'll just create animosity with the trash talking that will result from such a challenge.

Jedi, I think your enthusiasm and hunger to learn are terrific things... you just need to temper how you express your enthusiasm a bit.

Heh, OD6 sounds like the original MoAT... the only furniture are the game consoles and TVs... BYOC (bring your own chair)

    =)

Actually Yupa, I understand your concern. But I've come to a conclusion that scenes generally grow BECAUSE of trash talking and animosity. However I will say that there is no purpose to truly trash talk unless both regions KNOW the other one is competitive/good enuff to make trash talking worth it. Also considering how far apart VF players are as far as serious competitive groups, it's practically useless unless you plan on traveling a good deal. But if say Miami had a VF community like Orlando has, then it would be definately within our interests to bring about interest through mindless jabber. My shittalking has worked wonders in central florida as far as keeping the scene alive.

I will say this though, in general VF peeps tend to look at shittalkers, even GOOD shittalkers and sort of say "Fuck you then I'll just play at home with my freinds." Which boggles the mind, I think this came about in VF3, because back in my Vf2 days at least...this was not the case.

Ack must get OD ready, adios! amigos!

Sorry for not coming to OD. I couldn't convince myself that I would have a good time in an apartment filled with people. My friend wants to know who won the MvC 2 tourney (he says if its Matt he will kill me for not taking him to OD). Also who won VF4?
