I get on the ps3 and feel like its a different game. Version B to me is a crapfest. I think getting the 360 version for version C is reason enough.

    Not to mention:

    - Online play
    - Extra starting cash
    - Achievements
    - Expert mode
    * Hard on PS3 is lame
    - Different/New Items

    DO IT

Its VF5 !! Ive considered forking over enough cash to purchase a full FT box, I didnt, but its the point that I almost did. If there was a game to buy a system for, VF would be it.

Well I have a similar question so I'm not creating an entire new topic for that.

Basically I purchased VF5 for PS3 back in December last year, but the seller had problems and now, 4 months later, I got my refund. But then I read about VF5:R a few weeks before and now I'm wondering if I should really buy VF5 or wait for the "R". I know there's a long way to go until R is released for consoles, but that doesn't change the fact the original will go obsolete as soon as that one comes out. So is it worth it or should I stick to lolTekken for another year?

I Say get VF5, it owns my free time. Forge Halo and gears of war, VF5 rarely leaves my system. Plus if you wait a year than you'll just be a year farther behind everyone who's getting better now. I can tell you first hand, as can everyone else on here, the general level of competition is constantly improving

I can't see any argument for not getting it, unless all your fingers are broken and you've gone blind.

Never wait for stuff, because there's always something better down the line. You wait for VF5 R, and a month after you get that, VF6 will be announced, and then you'll be waiting another year for that to come out.

It's like money, $100 dollars now is better than $200 5 years later.

Reading thru the comments here makes me sad. I mean, do you think money grows on trees? Waiting for something is always better than affording a new console, the game and one or two sticks. Start throwing your money thru a window....into my house.

as much as i do love the game jemun, i can't completely fault your logic, i have yet to dish out 150-200 for a world class stick. i just can't see throwing that money at it,.....that being said, i think i know where my next bonus is going. and here is another little tidbit for you (i am not trying to start a pro evolution versus fifa flame here, so lets not tread that path) i've been waiting for pro evo-used to be winning eleven on ps2-- next gen to come out FOREVER. i think it is by far, hands down best sporting game ever produced. this opinion stretches all the way back to ISS on snes or n64 whichever. to make long story short, it came out either yesterday or on the 11th, i'm going to hold off on getting it b/c i am still having too much fun with VF5. repeat, and i have been waiting for this game for YEARS

Jemun: That's kind of a seperate issue. Remember, time is money. Of course, you're going to get biased responses, cause a lot of people on this site are sitting on XBL basically every night playing online matches for hours. In just a couple months the amount of entertainment you get per dollar spent gets to pretty damn good, even though as a sum the initial cost looks high. If you aren't going to play the game that much... well, plan accordingly. Personally, I literally cancelled my cable TV subscription cause what little free time I have ends up being used for gaming almost in it's entirety anyway. 6 months from now, that will have saved me enough to completely pay for the console anyway.

Well, look at it this way.

Do you want to be inexplicably disconnected from Xbox live in the middle of a match because XBL is full beyond its capacity?(those same sputters in connectivity that happened during the Christmas season and promted a class action law suit are STILL happening on XBL.

DO you enjoy having your matches interrupted because of the "DISC IS UNREADABLE" message?

Do you want to mark the days off your calendar untillyou get the inevitable RED RING of death?

If the answer is yes to all those questions, get the 360 and the new version of VF5.

I mean yeah you can buy the 360 version, but ,make sure you buy the extra 3rd party fan unit. I mean If you have a few friends you can still have a lot of fun with the PS3 VF5 until they release VF5 R for PS3. With the inevitable upsurge of Ps3 sales after GTA 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4,Virtua Fighter 5 R on Ps3 is a sure thing.

No, money doesn't grow on trees, but time is priceless.

You can always make more money by working harder or changing jobs or actively do *something* to try and improve, but time is time - when it's gone, it's gone, you can't get more time or time back.

If you wait for VF5R - first, there's no guarantee that it's going to be on PS3, or what features it'll have (like online play). Secondly, you end up with a year of no online play. Third, like I said, by the time VF5 R comes out, VF6 will be announced and you'll be asking yourself "should I wait for VF6 instead"?

With all that risk, you're better off not wasting time and playing the game now, and getting the most out of the spare time which you have now.

Of course, that's assuming you are crazy about VF5:)

Wow, zentou... can you at least attempt to get your facts, right. None of those issues ever occured to me personally. (I was travelling during the holidays, so I missed the worst of the christmas downtime, but still...) And they actually seem to have improved their manufacturing, so RROD is getting to be fairly rare on the newer units. And, *most importantly*, don't buy the damn 3rd party fans, almost all of them are extremely poorly made, and testing has shown that 360s are actually more likely to overheat with those things attached, not less, which is stupid... but it shows how badly they work.

katsudon: time is not "priceless"... in most cases it has a fairly strict price. If your job pays 10/hour, that's what an hour is worth to you... if it pays 20/hour, well your time is worth that much more. I really love people who complain about a 60 dollar game that you can sink 60+ hours into (for a low 1/hour of entertainment value), which is pretty standard for 360 games for me these days, given that I spend some time finishing achievements and whatnot. And yet, you hardly hear much at all about 10 dollar movie tickets... which is roughly 5/hour, and yet many people seem to go see a movie every weekend. Don't let yourself get fooled by the difference in initial costs when determining actual value.

vf5395: Why would you play the ps3 version offline if you own both systems? The ver.C gameplay updates in the 360 version make for a more balanced game, and it's being used as the tournament/arcade standards and whatnot, anyway.

Time is priceless because I can technically earn as much money as want per hour, depending on how I go about it. Just because I earn $10/hour doesn't mean my hour is worth 10 dollars - if you can buy a diamond for $5 does that mean diamonds are worth $5?

As far as I am concerned my time is priceless because I can never buy time, it's a fixed quantity and when it's gone, it's gone. So I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can.

Lol... yes, by definition, that happens to be exactly what it means.

The sad truth is that you can't "earn as much as you want" in an hour. You earn what you're being paid... if you don't think you're being paid enough, then prove it, and go get a better job. It's not about the concept of time being lost. It's that if you go out and spend 10 dollars, you just lost an hour's worth of work... you need to go spend a whole hour working to get those 10 dollars back. Someone getting paid more finds those 10 dollars to be much easier and quicker to replace, and it becomes inherently less important decision when the opportuntity to spend 10 dollars on something gets offered to them.

You can only "enjoy your time" as you say, such as it's within your means to pay for whatever entertainment you're consuming during that time. Don't come in here telling me time is some commodity in and of itself... time is fixed just as you said... what matters is how you spend that time, and if it costs me money to spend more of my fixed amount of time doing something I enjoy, then yes, I'm going to spend that money.

why would you differentiate like that. the 360 has the latest console verion, ps3 ver.b is outdated.

Oh, what I said wasn't "factual" because,YOU havent experienced the same problems, so tha OBVIOUSLY makes the RED OF ring of death a MYTH. OF course, since YOU didnt get logged out of XBOX live during Christmas oor there after NOBODY else has. It should be perfectly clear, you ARE the center of the univese after all.

FACT: there is a classs action lawsuit against Microsoft because of the inept handling of the server overload.

FACT:in the Game informer 180 April 2008 issue ,in the "GOOD the BAD andthe UGLY" section:"UGLY One of Microsofts own Xbox 360 demo machines at GDC was afflicted with the RED RING of DEATH . Go ahead, laugh. You've earned it."

Fact : The new systems with falcon Chips still get the red ring of death.

Fact: Microsoft obviously knows the 360 design is FLAWED , thats why the warranty was extended to 3 years to combat the RED Ring of DEATH.

Yeah you can get the 360 Version of VF5, but just be aware of the UGLY side of owning that system. Maybe you should buy TWO 360s, ONE will inevitably be shipped off to Microsoft for repairs.

Ahhh...alright, let's put this in another way.

You, Sorias, sucks cock for a living. Let's say you get $10 to suck one cock over one hour. Does that mean your hour is worth only $10?

Yes? Ok, but then another one of your customers come in, and you charge him $20 to take it up the ass. Is your hour of cock sucking and getting fucked in the ass worth $10 or $20?

With the $30 dollars you've made, can you buy back the 2 hours you just spent sucking cock and taking it up the ass? What if you sucked two cocks in that same hour? What if you sucked 10? Can you buy back that two hours with your $120? Who would you buy two hours from?

There's a difference between what you earn and what your time is worth. What you earn is the minimum of what your time is worth - just because you suck cock for $10/hour doesn't mean that it's worth only $10. All you can say is that it's worth at least $10. Who knows, you might be extremely good at your job of sucking cock and taking it up your ass, someone might even be willing to pay $25 dollars for it.

The only accurate way to know how much something is worth is to buy it, and until you, Sorias the cocksucker, can find someone willing to sell you time for a specific price, then you cannot put a price on time.
