SEGA has already stated that an update for the PS3 version in terms of DLC is not possible. The game code does not have any online hooks that will allow it to accept DLC. We will have to wait for VF5R.

Which means, to me, VF5:R had BETTER be online. Sheesh.[/size]

Great post here, this is pretty much how things are...

Only difference for me, is that buying a 360 is improbable...so, I'll just have to have faith in Sega and hope VF5:R is online enabled.

I bought VF5 for the PS3 even if it didn't have online play.I really hope that they had it in VF5R because I'm not getting a xbox 360 even if they only had Online play for the 360 version!!!

The fact that ver.C didnt come on PS3 was huge downer. If it had, theres several people here who propably would not have bought 360 version just for the online.. PS3 which is better and more reliable machine and has vastly better controllers would have been a better choice for local scene.

While online is very important for the common man, and I agree it will increase VF popularity, it does very little to experienced players. You cant become good enough to win proper tournaments with just online training. In fact two of my friends (very good players) here play VF5 on 360, but neither of them have online. One has a modded 360 incapable of using online play, the other doesnt have internet.

I just wish that Sony would make a u-turn and just plain forget making their online service free. With payments they might get it good enough for people to use it.

Talking about popularity it seems that LOADS of new players are coming to LIVE every night. I can't believe the amount of 10th kyus I have to go through every time I'm hosting. Seriously. I'm talking different people who join my sessions with zero to three total games played so far here.

I hope Sega read into that and decide to port VF5:R to both platforms. (Dream on!!) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

SO true I hope sony gets the picture by the time I can afford a ps3. The only reason I got a 360 was for VF5 I was just gonna keep waiting for a good reason to get one.

I hope Sony doesn't make changes to their FREE online service. For me at least.

Never thought about it that way but you're probably right that PS3 online sucks because it's free. Free programs are always worse than those you pay for. Money talks, shitty online service walks...

Here's to hoping that Home will change the PS3 online landscape while still being free.

true. but still even if vf5 is online patched for ps3 lag would kill the experience.

Lag hardly killed the experience on the 360 and there's no reason to believe it would do it on the PS3.

I have noticed this, that some of my boyz spend a lot of time online playin VF and Tekken and then when they come play live opponents
    they're reaction time is slower.

Maybe once you play a lot online you can't tell that you are playing at a slower pace, because both players are playing slower. Your hand muscles adjust to the slower speed(just a goofy theory) but I seen it happen 2 or 3 times. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

I played someone who's normally a 360 online player and we played
on PS3 he thought things were moving a little faster (I don't know)

That would depend on your connection and provider, but then again, that wouldn't be enough. I've had a fairly decent cable modem that ran around 6MB per second and my games were still very slow %94 of the time when I use to play it on someone else's 360. Online fighters always sucked for me, but hey, everyone is different.

I'm counting on it to run smoothly finally, that's if it comes to the PS3.

Question: Do you think if you only played tekken dr online for the next few months and then played someone in two player mode offline that your reaction time and sense of speed would be the same offline after several months of online-only play?

I don't really play online much, I'm just curious what some who does play online alot
    experiences.

Is the difference attributed to the platform, or the actual software interfacing the netcode into the game engine?

I'm willing to be it's the latter.

In other words, just because online for T5DR sucked on PS3, doesn't mean it'll suck if/when VF5 goes online on the PS3.
