I'm not hardcore, but I miss old Goh in FS

Whoa, now...don't misunderstand me. I've been using juggles since part 2 when I owned an arcade machine of it. I never said I fanboi'd on VF because it was 'realistic'. I was praising VF for not focusing on juggles...there was always an out for non-juggle players, unlike Tekken where if you shun juggles, you shun winning in general. Tekken had less options for styles of fighting (it's slowly getting better, but it's still miles behind VF) a ground game, but that's why I liked VF...the evade system especially. It 'felt' more like sparring and less like flashy game trying to look cool. That was my attraction towards it.

To reiterate: well aware juggles have been in VF since part 1. Well aware VF is NOT just like Tekken. It's the seemingly shift of focus towards Tekken-ish gameplay I'm noticing. I watched some matches and there's a lot less sidestepping than vanilla, there seems to be, idk...it just doesn't feel like it used to. I can't cite frames, I can't cite specifics..it's just the 'feel' that changed. Intangible.

Now I gotta pop VF5 vanilla back into the PS3, just to compare Gohs and refresh my memory. Ha, my PS3 has been empty since FS came out.

There's no doubt Goh was "beta version" when he was introduced in 4evo. I continuously played him against my roomie's Pai, and saying to myself "This guy really sucks." LOL that's why I kept using him; I'm sadomaso. But I had faith in Sega that more and more options will be added to him as more editions come out.

As I said before, I liked the contradiction between his out-of-ring Yakuza swagger, and his in-ring self control. Like he would talk trash, but as soon as he starts fighting he gets serious and lets his orthodox training take over.

[4][6][K]. It's been in vids and in the Goh top 10 movelist thread for some time now.

    ----
I miss [3][P]+[K], 13 frame mC only knockdown [4][6][P], etc.
    ----

Also, complaining about VF being too combo based now is too funny.

Personally, I love what they did with Goh in FS. Previously in order to play him effectively you had to have an incredible yomi game. Now he's got options other than just back-ups when your defensive game fails. I don't really see the problem.

@ malahk, it's not that I DONT like him now, I do. I just wish they hadn't removed some of my favorite things from him. It felt cool to make people afraid to do anything after you showed them that you can effectively stop it, even just once. For instance, the sidestep counter...playing my friend, when he gets hit with that, he stops side stepping for a while...idk, it's like a mental crushing. Even if I lose, I still feel like I scared the living crap out of the other player and that's what made him so fun with his interesting movelist from before. Now he seems more straight forward and combo-ish. Not as much intimidation from him other than his new animations.
