    Seriously?

IMO the Devil Gene is the best thing the Tekken story has going for it, but the power struggle between generations make it feel like the WWF.

Then you have characters like Bryan (the "most powerful being on the planet") and Yoshimitsu, armed with a katana (how could anyone beat that with bare hands??) up against characters like Xiaoyu (a schoolgirl !?) and Julia (some environmentalist wacko?). I mean not even a big dewd like Paul would stand a chance against Devil, Angel, True Ogre, or even Alex for that matter. Speaking of which, he's a deinonychus !! Why is he wearing boxing gloves? He should be gutting people alive with his massive big-toe-talons.

I mean, i know that this is a fictional world and all but have some freaking coherency! At least have Xiaoyu bit by a radioactive spider or something.

The entire game is filled with stuff like this. Tekken reminds me of one of those webpages you go to that has a horrible color scheme and hundred little animated GIFs that don't have anything to do with one another.

An example, only this guy's doing it on purpose.

Thank GOD Am2 spent the time that would have gone into story researching the fighting techniques for each of VFs characters.

OK i didn't mean to rip on Tekken so much.. once i get going i forget what i'm talking about.. the words just come out so easily i don't even have to think about it.

The Mishima storyline is the main Tekken storyline. Namco gave Bryan, Hwoarang, Roger, Alex, King... their own storyline because they had to. Those are just satellite stories orbiting around the true Tekken story which is the rivalry and hatred between Kazuya and Heihachi. Jin became the main character in T3 and his story kinda merged with Kaz and Heihachi's.

Yeah in real life Bryan would probably kill Ling with one punch, Yoshimitsu would cut everyone to pieces, Blanka would tear Chun Li apart, Jeffry would be top tier Lol, but like you said it's fictional (sci-fi) so where's the big deal ? It's fun seeing a blond chick beat up on a big guy like Craig. Probably will never see that happen in real life but then again that's one of the reasons why ppl play videogames in the first place.

One day there will be a fighting game storyline that will make us all go woah, this is awesome... in retrospect

ROFL . I know exactly what you mean. Now that I think about it... If mortal kombat stuck to like 12 characters and had worked their plots back to MK 1 and 2 and started fresh, it would have the best storyline out of fighting game genre. A tournament to save the world. Now that my friends is fresh. Am I being sarcastic? I dont even know anymore.

Grah! I got away from myself there. But really I do think that MK 1 and 2 had reasonable simple storylines that SHOULD have been developed. Kung Loa should have stayed his ass dead, they shouldn't have killed Johnny Cage, Goro should have been a little smarter (lead the revolt of his four armed peoples against shang and the emperor) but hey, cant live in the past.

I really hope VF, tekken and DOA take the initiative and work on their storylines for their respective sequels.
