Lebanon, under U.N charter, was supposed to of taken care of them years ago. Israel should just sit by while they launch missles into Israel, while boarder towns come under constant small arms fire? I think not. Israel is doing what the rest of the world, including Lebanon, should of have done years ago. It is not a perfect approach, but its better than just sitting idely by and taking it up the ass as they have before.

When has Hezbollah ever done anything remotely as destructive and deadly as what Israel has done to southern Lebanon?

Why does the entire world, minus the U.S., want Israel to stop?

    What Is Hizbollah?

Right now the safest disguise you could have in Lebanon is a soldier uniform. They're not attacking them. Civilians though...

Because Hezbolla opperates (on purpose I might add) within civilian populations. THey fire their rockets from within apartment buildings. They fire off small arms fire from peoples houses and leave. Israel is trying to get rid of Hezbulla. Lets remember who actually is ONLY trying to kill civilians, ok.

    Re: Kaboom!

I agree - tell Hezbulla to stop firing rockets into Israeli cities and give back control of Lebanon to the Lebanese goverment...I bet they are just itching to do so!

    "Position of the UN

UN Security Council Resolution 1559, calls for "the disbanding and disarmament of all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militia", echoing the Taif Agreement that ended the Lebanese Civil War, but does not explicitly include Hezbollah[98][99] although Kofi Annan has advanced this interpretation[100][101]. The Lebanese Government[102] and Hezbollah dispute the application of this resolution to Hezbollah, referring to it as a "resistance movement" and not a militia. Hezbollah's deputy leader Naim Qassem has said that its forces might become a "reservist army" within the Lebanese army, though this suggestion is not universally supported within the organisation.[103]

The UN’s Deputy Secretary-General, Mark Malloch Brown, contests characterisations of the Lebanese militia as a terrorist organisation in the mould of al-Qaeda.[104] While acknowledging that “Hezbollah employs terrorist tactics,â€Â[105] he says that it is unhelpful to call it a terrorist organization; the United States and the international community, in his view, would do well to respect it as a legitimate political party. Brown also criticized Hizbullah, ,""It is making no effort to hit military targets; it's just a broadside against civilian targets [106]."

Would you be happier if Israel had the same or more amount of dead civilians and children?

Would it make you happier if Hezbollah was winning this war? Do you sympathize with 'poor, innocent' Hezbollah? Do you wish Iran would provide them with better, more destructive weapons? Would you be happy if they get their hands on nuclear weapons and unleash it on Israel and the US?

You said that the media in the US was biased on side of Israel, I asked you if you have been watching CNN... have you?

    Are you biased?

P.S. Before anybody tries to reverse these questions on me, read my earlier posts for answers, thank you.

God, please help stop the killing of innocents.

I prefer to have these type of discussions with friends or family. Only because we can agree to disagree peacefully without any hard feelings. Around strangers, at parties etc. this type of conversation is a real turn off believe me. Once people start talking, and arguing politics just count the number of people who start to leave.

Not trying to be shallow here, nor am I saying this type of conversation has no place, but right about now it's like sitting amongst of two bickering siblings while I'm trying to enjoy my fucking steak. (I read this thread for the sake of what you just said about it being a good disscusion, and it is an important issue.)

Btw, this red alert sucks ass right now. I know people who are just fucked over atm /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Re: Kaboom!

Shadowdean, it is a little silly for you to quote U.N. resolutions as though a blind partisan of Israel can give a fuck about international law. Did you know it is a war crime to force the mass relocation of civilian populations, as Israel is doing now? Or that national territory is not to be gained through war? I could go on. My point it that is silly to point to U.N resolutions as if the entity you advocate for pays any attention to international law in the first place.

    Moving on to media bias:

How often have commentators mentioned that the demolition of Lebanon is paid for by our tax dollars?

How often is US support of Israel mentioned as one of the central motivating factors behind al Qaeda?

How often is it metioned that the U.N. would have passed countless measures against Israel were it not for the US seat on the Security Council?

Recently, AIPAC members were convicted of spying on the US on behalf of Israel. How come no one knows about it?

How often does the Israel Lobby get discussed at all? Does it exist? Does it affect American policy or politics at all? Gee, I don't know, no one on the tube ever said that it does...

How many people have Hezbollah's deadly rockets killed over the last six years? (I actually don't know, but my guess is that the number is less than the number of people killed in Lebanon in the last two weeks)

I would be curious to hear just what you think qualifies as an example of anti-Israel bias on the news.

I am doing my best not be insulting here. Some fellers get angry when they hear someone say Jesus wasn't magical. Others get fired up whenever anyone says anything critical of Israel's government.

There was a time when ethnic nationalism was the bane of Jews' existence.
