I know this isn't the gg thread but I'm posting it in here because vids are to follow. GG GThief, always enjoy playing you even if you don't enjoy playing me, that was pretty much an hour long stomping session.

He stomped my goh in mirrors and then pulled a switchnation and beat me down with characters I didn't even know he played /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Its amazing the little things you notice. For instance, when you down me with something that gives a gteed light down attack. You noticed I just mash p g to get up straight, and you started doing heavy pounces on me after things like gohs 33p+g, it was crazy. I have like 6 or so replays I'll put up later.

    To GT:
I'm grateful for all the tips you give me on my game. I've never been too good at fighting games. When I first jumped into the competitive gaming scene it was with FPS's and shit. I switched over to fighting games because of how deep they were. All the tips you give me are somewhere in my head, it just takes me a while to implement them into my game. I can't just read what you say and have it in my game immediately much to my dismay. I'll never be a top contender in this or any fighting game because of this weakness. I just want you to know its not going in one ear and out the other, I just can't grasp it all as quickly as the top players do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

An example of this is NYG, I think everyone leveled up there except me haha. I came in doing ok, then realized my defense needed to be better to play with everyone there. So I started playing REALLY defensive. This actually made me play worse, I had a few people tell me I need to be more aggressive. I eventually balanced out my offense and defense after NYG, (too late to not go 2 and out :D) it just takes me a bit.

It'll all make it into my game eventually and hopefully I can at least be decent in tourneys. Had too much fun playing you. Thanks for the games man.

Joho just be like me and play Lei-Fei. Works like a charm. Up until a certain point.

K here they are. 4 against his goh and 3 from his jacky. Overall I just feel at a loss as what to do against GT. I feel like I can't even play the way I want to if ya know what I mean. I definitely need to try and settle down in matches like this, I wasn't even doing guaranteed punishment most of the time /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

Oh and the recording from my tv tuner kinda lags when I hit record so thats why shit is cut off or not started soon enough. I'm too lazy to edit the clips.

GGs GT again, thanks again for the games /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Hope everyone enjoys. My weaknesses definitely show in these sets if anyone wants to comment on them. Maybe have some outside perspective /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Delay your strikes sometimes, don't always try and seize what looks like an opening. If you're afraid to delay your strikes, use more half and full circulars.

The issue is that you're playing too linear and become easily evadable, in small situations.

I guess for Goh you can try delayed single palms and catch throw, but I suggest making your choices stronger so I'd recommend delayed Basara.

Johoseph you shouldn't rush your development too soon. You have a solid goh right now just take it one step at a time. I know from from playing other good players like GT and Kingo just how harsh the lessons may seem but you will get it one day really soon. It shocked me that GT could play Pai and even my Vanessa and he really showed me a few things that I even now I am still trying to figure out but I will get it one day. Good luck man.

Thanks Slide. This kinda goes along with something GT told me to work on before... recognizing your opponents evading tendencies. I'll have to work on that some more.

Dang man... you can beast when you wanna. You've got those non-fluky VF skills, which are only exhibited by the high level players. I would hope our switchnation skills improve though...

Its funny you say that because I feel a lot more comfortable playing high level players than I do playing randoms. Sarah's flamingo gives me tons of trouble still, or just sarah in general. You love jabbing the shit out of me when your at a small disadvantage. I have trouble switching between delaying attacks and seizing an opening immediately and I guess you've found that out, so the jabs mess me up. Always a blast playing you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Great matches again, thanks for sharing.

After watching those vids against Cozby's Sarah, if I was going to critique you Joho, I'd say you need to be a bit more aggressive. I saw a few times you would get a big advantage with CH /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and CH /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and you would do no followup.

Well I took about a 2 weeks hiatus, big thanks to Left 4 Dead on that one /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif. Had way too much fun playing that with a few of my old CS buddies from high school. Anywho I hopped back on XBL today and saw HappyFriend playing so I capped a few battles we had. I still have a little rust to work off. My stick is starting to break too, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif doesn't work too well on it, (noticed mostly in SF2HD) which is ok for VF5, not used really. Already pre-ordered the SF4 Madcatz stick so February can't come soon enough for me!

    Here are the couple matches:

    Happy Lau 1
    Happy Lau 2
    Happy Lau 3

And a bonus SF2HD Remix match! This was mostly a test, might start uploading them though, if I can get into rooms with good comp.
    Krsjin (Fei-long) vs. WiredNakatomi (Ryu)

Thanks for the tips too Shag! Always looking for more help.

i just read what u said about never being a great player. Don't sell urself short. Remember with the nature of punishing mistakes on this game, learning 1 trick to turn a combo a fight in ur favor can be a 2 or 3 dan swing. I mean, such small improvement net such large dividends. I was surprised how u came out of nowhere, lol, u probably didn't but 1 day i turned it on and there u were a 7th dan goh. Actually u give me more problems then a lot of goh's. If u haven't taken a long look at the fuzzy, crouch fuzzy, evade escape relationship then go there next. It is the backbone of the game, well the mid/throw mixup. Its strange, but by basing mid/throw mix up as the standard "best response" and then watch to see what ur opponent does that deviates from that, is the best way to break down what is really happening. Then it breaks down to Yomi or what we argue is or isn't yomi or whatever. It really is kinda neat. Although, it doesn't make u feel any better when getting ur butt handed to u by an elite player, or a masher, lol. Really though, the relationships between those defensive techniques, advantage/disadvantage, and mid/throw is interesting, even if i can't really put it to great use yet.

Uploaded a couple more vids. Should definitely be getting them up more regularly. God stepped in and told me I can only play fighting games that require 5 buttons or less by breaking the Y button on my stick. So no more SF2 for a while, but I can still play VF /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Cozby plays Lei again, WOO

The triumphant return of VF#s! Glad I got the chance to play a bunch with you man. Even after all that time out of VF you still rock.

Kinda asking something two-fold of you guys if anyone's willing. First of all I'm shit against lei-fei, I freeze up a lot because of not knowing what to do against certain stances he goes into. Secondly, VF#s hasn't played in forever and asked me for tips on his game, don't know Lei for shit, so someone step up for him /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Match 1
    Match 2
    Match 3

GGs again VF#s, think you have the time to attend GVN winter brawl in february?
