SRK was much much better years ago when it was more ruthless. You wouldn't have idiots like them posting for long, because they'd get joked or flamed into lurk status until they read up about previously discussed stuff, or actually learned how to play the games they were playing.

Posts would be of a slightly higher quality because they were more thought out.

In reguards to SRK. If your post isn't heavy on chest thumping, post it with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I don't know much about SRK but that turned into a flamewar fast. Plus, people will just keep flaming and ignore the OP, topic and everything else just to be a prick. Some of those dudes are pretty lame.

Sun, I'm not gonna give you a 1 out of 10 score but I will say that IF[/size] the patch works as well as I've been told, then I think the game is worth getting. The game itself is a pretty sick fighting game. Regardless of the quality of it compared to any past KOF, it's still a really good fighting game... The biggest problem is the online. As it stands now, it's bad enough to be a deal-breaker... If it gets fixed and works well, you will enjoy this game.

The characters that are in the game are all very fun and the game seems pretty well balanced so far. If they can really get this title working online I will be psyched because I do think the gameplay is great. If you're looking for single-player though, and don't care about online either way, don't get it. The single player is as stripped down as could be and the AI is absolutely terrible. You need someone to play to make it enjoyable so know that before you do anything. If the online gets fixed and is really working well, you'll have people to play so I can recommend it to you.

Hold off until the patch and I/we (other VFDCers) will let you know if it worked and then make your final decision. Right now, pre-patch, you're not missing too much. Wait until you hear feedback on the upcoming patch, then decide.

    Thanx !

I shall wait as you said and watch out the new patch and ask about it whenever it is released .

The thing is that this game is really hard to find unlike Virtua Fighter 5 & Mortal Kombat which can be found in any store .

They announced it would be addressed in the upcoming patch. But until then, just uninstall your last update and problem solved.

    This game's done for.

It's too late SNK, it's too late, atleast for me cause my time will soon be limited. It's nearing Tekken time, no other fighter will matter on the radar if it ain't up to par as a full package.

In the fall it's Tekken 6BR, Modern Warfare 2, and Left 4 Dead 2.

It's a done deal, aint nothing else will be on the plate as far as games are concerned, that'll be more than enough for my gaming quality time with my future schedule.

I agree so wholeheartedly. SNK and Ignition have fucked this release up beyond recognition. The CSI unit is using dental records to identify KOF XII's corpse as we speak... I was cool with waiting a little while but im sick of their shit now. The changing dates and stories. The bogus ass vid they posted as proof of the patch that was only 10 miles apart in reality. These dudes are grifting scam artists. /me pukes

Shit is wack man, cause I like the game and everything.

But fuck it, I'm not even playing anymore it'd be collecting dust right here, if it wasn't buried under a book and some mail.

Oh shit, I forgot about KOFXII. On the reals, SNKP fucked up, BIG. Is a shame really, because the game is really fun. I guess I'll play this game for the achievements/trophies

Yo Shinobi, some dude on Neo Gaf answered one of your posts as if he worked for SNK or Ignition. If you look in the KOF XII thread there, you'll see he quoted you and talked about the patch. Think it's on the last page...

Is he credible or not you think?

I don't blame you tbh. You put the work in to contact people and they said it would happen. They lose a sales everyday this doesn't happen and come Tekken day it's not gonna matter anymore. Why should you try if they won't?

Don't understand the surprise. The patch was promised, the date, was not.

Game's still fun as sh. I'm still playing it.

I know the date was not promised but the fact that I bought this game at full price, over a month ago, and it still not patched is getting on my nerves big time. I'm definitely not saying the game isn't fun, I think it's quite fun. But without being able to get good games online, all I have is practice mode and a really bad AI to play.

They fucked up big time, regardless of whether or not the patch works. They hurt their reputation once again by acting like bone heads that don't pay attention to their customers. I'll will certainly play the game ASAP after the patch comes out but I will still think a month+ was way too long to have to wait for them to do what they should have done in the first place, on day one...

I hope that NAMCO saw the backlash from SNKP having a terrible netcode and understands how important a good online experience is. Even if it's the best game ever, bad netcode can be a fatal problem.

Markman and the head guy of TZ (Tekken Zaibatsu Emperor or something?) say they have been talking to NAMCO and said they made it abundantly clear, on several occasions, that the game could have great modes and everything else but that it would all be worthless if the netcode was crap. NAMCO claims to have rewritten the netcode from scratch.

Why do that when the right technology is already out there, I don't know. But hopefully they'll get it right anyway...

They said by the end of August.....Is technically the end of August, that's the beef. I'm going to be messing with this game for a few weeks after the patch. From there, I'm going to be playing alot of Tekken 5DR on the PS3. To prepared for Tekken 6BR.

    Japanese pride?

They reiterated it at Cologne though. The important thing is: they heard. At the very least Harada stated it on his IGN blog today (updated today I believe) that he knows in the West, people play at home against each other or over the Internet, because the arcade scene is no more.

So here's hoping: Harada re-states that the netcode has been redone, and he states that he knows people take online play very seriously.
