    Krizalid was a pain(still love the char) but IMO ignis was a very nasty guy to deal with

    Igniz was a bitch and was lacking in interest of any kind.

    Krizalid was pure badass. Anyone who burns their coat to ashes before they fight you WHILE STILL WEARING IT is nothing less than awesome.

    yeah many peeps said about KOF XII "no mai, no buy", but she was also absent in KOF XI...
    anyway, KOF XII is an AWESOME 2D bemu even without her, only 5 (6) backgrounds, no boss, "only" 22 characters and shitty netcode... i still like it, i like it A LOT! (Offline)

    btw: mai and K' was planed as DLC, shame on SNKP they never released it! (maybe already on the disc??!!)

    But if this comes to the States, is this going to be a real game that's not as stripped down as humanly possible?

    AND

    If there ARE issues (Oh yes, there WILL be problems with butt ass SNK) are they going to deny it for 3-6 months or are they going to do what they should do and fix the game.

    Of all the games I've purchased for XBOX360, KOFXII was absolutely the MOST disappointing game purchase no doubt about it. It really left a seriously left a bad, foul, digusting taste in my mouth.

    And I'm still not over it [IMG]

    Oh my it seems that there is no zoom, glad to see that removed it didnt look good and it was annoying as fuck.

    I still have it too... But that's because it was worth less than $5 dollars a month after it came out because everyone that bought it traded it in almost immediately upon seeing how stripped down it was, how bad the CPU was and how ultra-sucky the online play was...

    Thanks for the screens! That Mai looks nice, but the big question is... How does she move? (fix the animation pleaaaaase... that freakish zoom being gone is a good start!)

    Also, I agree Igniz was a bitch... I hated all the bored cloth-fighting bosses, whose moves was a dozen variations of "cape whoosh". Goenitz is the only keepaway boss that gets a bye from me, for being awesome.

    As for Krizalid, he's as boss as game bosses go to me. At first he looks like your typical "wearing cape-can't crouch-not moving too much" boss design... But then he burns his cape and you see he's all smiles underneath that cold demeanor from R1. And then he stomps you into the ground with some of the coolests moves ever, all the time sporting that wicked grin, and he's really FIGHTING you, not just hanging in the back flinging clothes in your face. Wish SNK brought him back...

    TBH kof13 looks terrible. they have gone back to everything I disliked about KOF: kof02 system, combos everywhere, spastic jumping around the stages. I know im the minority here, but I am going to hold my copy of KOF12 dear, it was one of a kind.

    Now while I disagree with you on everything you dislike about KOF (Since that is what makes KOF what it is), i agree with ya that abandoning the CC system sucks cause that was a great hook for the new KOF...now this looks like more prettier version of 02. I'm ok with regular KOF fighting, but if the only gimmick is gonna be cancel whoring than it's kinda generic. Let's hope those EX Supers will change things up.

    So I had some free time today and decided on going to KOFXIII locktest. I didn't have any kind expectation toward the game. So I wasn't really disappointed of what I saw.

    First of all KOFXIII is what KOFXII should have been. I'm trying to find good words to say about the game but to be honest there isn't anything great or even special that makes me say such things. By all means I'm not saying the game is bad or anything, but it's pretty much mild.

    you see, SF4 has this new graphic looks "2.5D" and going on nostalgia to promote it. While BlazeBlue has it's complicated system and manga looks like thingy going on. So where does KOFXIII fall into? no where to be honest.
    How come you say?!!

    Let's start with the obvious, VISUALS;
    KOFXIII suffers from an identity dilemma. SNK are trying to revive or to be more precise reboot the game but they are failing in that aspect. They chose to get rid off the old art style (which is pretty much what defines them and defines KOF) and change it for something they think it's cool and can compete against other fighters with it. Sadly they are failing hardly with it. The art is so inconsistent that I find it disturbing to look at some of the characters. Aside from most of the male characters, most females look hideous. Take Yuri for example. They were trying so hard to make her cute they ended up making a lollipop instead of something that resembles a human being. Her head is sooo big you can replace her upper body with it. Not to mention Mai. SNK were trying to make my sexy but she ended up looking like cheap whore bending to show her silicon boobs >_<. I don't know if SNK wanted to make an attribution to the classic look of their original characters (Terry, Andy, Ryo etc...) or wanted to make the game have a cartoonish look instead (Chin, Goro, Mai etc...). I can go all day long about how terrible the decisions SNK are taking about KOF but hopefully my point have been understood.

    Next, Sound;
    SNK used to be one of the best companies to make fighters music. WHAT THE HELL WENT WRONG?!!!
    The music in XIII resembles that of XI but with no life. Most of the musics if not ALL are plain cliches. There is no progression in the whole track. It's just a 10 sec. loop that goes on and on. And I'm not saying that SF4 or BlazBlue have better music either. But they are far better than XIII.

    Lastly, System;
    Wither their ideas were great or not, SNK USED to be great at (innovating new systems). Sadly this is not the case with XIII. Instead of building on the system of the original KOFs or even the late one, they decided on demolishing the old system and just steal from other fighting games. I wished the way they stole things were more innovative at least but sadly not. SNK, they just sank lower than before.

    To be honest I can't see this game to have success in any kind of way. there is nothing to attract new players nor it will attract real fighting fanatics. This game will only sells to hardcore KOF fans and thats only. when I was at the lock test there weren't much people queuing for the game. 20 people was the maximum number as far as I remember.

    Anyways my ranting is over onto info.

    - the game is faster than before. Feels more like a KOF.
    - they took out the sousai system. (personally I think it's better they got rid of it)
    - F+C or F+D to throw instead of B+C. ( this is one of the stupid decisions by SNK)
    - the super bar fills up to 3 times for your first character, 4 times for the second and 5 time for you last standing one.
    - there is a guard crush bar
    - there is a hyper drive bar which also increases when your second character comes in and so on to the next one.
    - there is no zoom in for the camera like before. the screen is so big the characters feels small. (another stupid decision) I think this is their solution to the pixelated characters (pretty much pathetic if you ask me)
    - now you can EX special moves just like in SF4. it takes some out of your super bar.
    - also you can EX supers too. you need 2 super bars to do so.
    - special moves don't take that much of damage nor supers. If you want to take damage you have to combo and rely on your characters basics.
    - supers are utterly useless. the start up frame is too damin long and it's easy to be interrupted. Ryo's kyokugenryu ogi don't go through projectiles and that goes for lots of characters.
    - EX supers are better but in no means they are way superior.
    - some characters have been buffed up like Ralph and Kensuo some remain the same. (I couldn't try every one nor I saw)
    - Mai seems to be very strong. ( lots of people been winning using her)
    - King is also decent (she has her double strike as a super)... oh, and her art was the best among the new characters.
    - Mature plays like her old self.
    - Iori still connects his super after throwing his opponents.
    - Terry has his busterwolf super back.
    - the Music depends on the first character you chose not the first one to fight with. so if the first character you picked up was Terry his music track will come out.
    - there is no intro animations and all characters had one winning pose.
    - the characters have a different art at the winning screen than the one on the select screen.
    - it seems each character has an message intro against his opponent in each stage when you play arcade mode.
    - there is a ranking system after each fight.
    - some characters animation got better but nothing drastic.
    - stages look better than before.

    this is as far as I remember from the lock test. I might have forgot few things but if you feel you need to know something just ask or remind me of it.
