Hey I was wondering what you guys thought about going down to AI after the home gathering? I'd like to get some more practice in Evo before the tourney. I was thinking we could go around 8 after playing each other at VF4. See you guys tomorrow. I'll be there pretty early Wes, like around 1 or 2 p.m.

no go to home gathering for me tomorrow, but I can go to AI tomorrow. I rather practice on Evo anyways. So I'll be there around 9 ish on friday. Saturday i close so If Spot, and anyone else wants to show up I can meet up after work which is around midnight

you missed an excellent scrubby console meet tonight.
too bad you couldnt get the message sooner.

It was me, three of my friends, wesly, joon, tomhilfiger, jag, and 4-5 more or so of their friends that came tonight. We had both mini vf4/tekken tournament going on just for fun. I came out in 4th after wesley nudged out my kage by 15 pts of damage. Wesley came in 2nd and Joon powered his way up by playing a "chicken" jacky /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

I think ill play kage for the janurary tournament. Im just running out of ideas for leifei for the time being. Well anyhow everyone gave good pointers here and there. A lot of people improved quickly in tonight. I still struggle against lion players, but less and less. Must stop techrolling. I also got my joystick into serious play tonight, slowly breaking it in.

Once again thanks wes for being and excellent host and paying for food, (extra awesome) and even supplying my friend with a whole pack of ciggarettes.

Hopefully we can do another console meet soon. And convert some more tekken people over, as some of them seemed interested at todays meet /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

oh yeah, hope to see you guys tommorow, hopefully ill head out to AI maybe around 6 or so ish stuff blah, im dropping by frank and sons before hopefully i can save a $5.

 

Friday PS2 Gathering

What a fun Tekken / VF gathering it was on Friday. This was barely my second VF meet, but I feel I'm picking up the game pretty well after years of playing Tekken.

Thanks Wes for the pizza and the drinks, and also thanks to all those who gave me tips, Alex, Twenty One (Wes), and Joon. Oh man, I gained a lot of experience playing so many different players on Friday. I should use my Jacky some more, and hopefully I'll learn some other characters ... if I can stop playing DDR Max LOL. We should definitely have more home gatherings, and when Evo comes out for the PS2 it's gonna be crazy.

Well sounds like a cool gathering...went to AI myself... met a new player. He's was pretty good and he will try to make it tomorrow. BTW JAG.. AI got the new DDR(DDR EXTREME). Anyways hope to see you guys late tomorrow. Like I said I can't make it till midnight or so.

it was my first actual VF gathering and hella fun!!!
i felt that newcomers(Tomgayhil and JAG) have improved a lot(yeah A LOT!!) and thx for the several information that i didnt know Alex^^.
yeah we should have another gathering pretty soon as long as my g/f is not here^^. she's coming back on 23rd, so my vacation is only 20days left. just let me know the date!!!
Too bad that i cant make tomorrow gathering-_-(i have important phone call answer tomorrow night..)

pretty decent meet tonight,
evo machine was buggy tonight, my TFT outta a techroll beat lions catch throw, and nordic did a teleporting aoi throw.

Even more the reason we need the version b upgrade. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif
tournament a week from now hopefully bullshit again will work in my favor /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

btw: wes do you want to do another meet before the tournament or after. If before i think its best to do it next friday.(we'll pay for food this time i swear /versus/images/icons/wink.gif ) And tell joon for me im in

The gathering will be from 4 to 10:00 p.m. (I gotta end it at 10 because I have to work early the next day). I also want to record some of our matches and put them online. For a while now I've been wanting to start a Los Angeles V.F. team like they do in Japan and Korea. Maybe this will get us one step closer. Let me know who thinks they'll be able to make it.

Hey guys, my VF4 home gathering has been postponed. Reason being is Tomhilfiger (#1 ranked Tekken player in U.S.) is holding a big Tekken tourney that same day, and many VF players will be going there instead. I plan on rescheduling my home gathering until sometime next week. ^^

hmm i was just going through zaibatsu forums, seems like theres another miniconsole/$$tourney at wesleys house again this friday. Seems like mostly Tekken this time, but is there $$ involved on the VF part?

jag can you clarify whats going on ?? not a zaibatsu regular so im not up to date on whats going on =p.

PhoenixDth, the gathering this Friday is at Wes's appartment starting at 8 p.m. Mostly Tekken players are gonna go but hopefully we'll get some VF4 in.
