Brisal73 is available on Thursday for sure - haven't asked him about Saturday. Catherine and I can do Thrusday but not Saturday.

Killer turnout

Big turnout tonight. JAG, Joon, Weslyzm, Tom_Hilfiger, Mike92123, Brisal73, PhoenixDth, Sol_fizZ, Cameron, Catherine, and I. I'm sure if Spotlite and Andy were in town, they'd have been there, too.

AI needs a second setup if this keeps up. /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

Congratulations to Weslyzm for an 11 (maybe 12 or 13) win streak with Lion.

Speaking of second set-ups, especially if AI gets version B and a second setup, I suggest we continue to meet at there even after we have EVO for PS2. I say we do this even if they only have one version B setup. However, with the kind of attendance we're seeing these days, it might behoove AI to add another. Llanfair mentioned the idea of gatherings being held at arcades in a different thread some time ago. I agree with that. I'd like to see our arcade scene stay strong. AI has gone the extra mile to bring EVO with cards here in the first place. We've all done our part to play regularly and bring in new faces. So I say practice at home and in the arcade, get together at AI once a week or more, play tournaments at AI like once a month.

I'm totally stoked about this right now. I hope all this continues.

Here's another cool thing... continued practice will get everyone ready for EC5 in July 2003. Tonight I heard there's a 70-80% chance we'll see ShinZ there. Mere words can not describe the abounding coolness.

That was a monsterous totally unexpected meet. I was there for 5 1/2 hours /versus/images/icons/shocked.gif And gribbly even came early Double SHOCK!!

after everyone left i went on an 8 win streak with kage. That means my leifei sucks ass. I was really hoping to enter in my leifei for the january tournament, but it looks like its gonna be kage.

Nice to see new faces, and nice to see that everyone came away with atleast one win. Whats even more shocking is the infection of leifei and kage users, before it was akira flooded. MeThinks i should learn aoi or goh now. /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

Well i defineately want to goto another console meet, because two of my friends are unwilling to spend money to lose (figures).

I agree nice meet.... I think we are all pretty lucky that everyone coming to these these gatherings are ALL pretty cool people.(knock on wood)... Highlights for me were beating Weslys Lion (quite different than Mike's), and tossing Mike's Lion out of the ring. Damn Lion's /versus/images/icons/smile.gif... but I thank Mike for teaching me how to you use Wolf in different ways. I also agree with staying with AI even when the home version comes out.... I say we should have gatherings at AI EVERY THURSDAY AND SATURDAY. Make this the set days of the week. Perhaps when the home version come out we can take one day out of the month and have a gathering at someones home. Maybe mini tournaments, food,drinks, and sharing basic vf knowledge and then we will have a Arcade tournament every 3 months at AI. I also agree if we can get a turn out this good going at least once a week... I believe AI would be willing to get a second setup. I don't see why not...they pretty much have done everything that we have asked.
Again guys thx for showing up last night I had a blast and I wish I could have played against all u guys. I don't have a car at this moment, but if anyone is planning on going friday or Saturday night please send me a pm. I would appreciate a ride. I only live a short 5 minutes away. Glad you guys are planning to enter the tournament... I think it's shaping up to be pretty cool. It's my hope that we can make it a semi-regular thing, and I share Plague's enthusiasm about the apparent upswing in VF interest.

That would be great, I'll pm you about this. One word of warning: I'm on holiday now so I have lots of time. But when I'm working I get super-busy and often can't make it to VF related stuff /versus/images/icons/frown.gif So don't think I'm being an asshole if my attendance is somewhat infrequent!

Hi guys, nice meeting some of you yesterday. Wow, what a great gathering last night! It was cool to see a wide variety of characters being used, not just Akira.

I just got into Virtua Fighter a month ago after many years of being devoted to Tekken, but I'm interested in learning the game and improving. Many thanks to Wes and Joon for all the tips and strategies they gave me.
