Good stuff, glad you can make it.

Thanks for the offer of help on the equipment front, I guess we'll need to see how many folk are interested and if we need a third set-up take it from there.

I found out recently my folks have fixed an old telly of mine that's still up in Inverness. Might pick it up next time i'm visiting family.

me and andy will be there as long as we can crash. we can also bring a copy of VF and a Ps2 if you need it. sounds sweet. i could bring Rayne if your interested, he beat me and andy (only just) in manchester.................... BUT THE CHEATING TWAT USES TOP BUTTONS WITH MULTIPLE BUTTON COMMANDS SET!
still, he has said that he wont use those anymore, so thats ok, and he is good. he plays a good Lion, so i want Li to play him and poke him to death!

    does this all sound ok?

Edit: Totally misunderstood your last post, so I'd deleted last reply.

Yep, that all sounds good but the usual one person staying over at my place applies.

Well we discussed this last time, you're both welcome to stay here if you don't mind how obviously cramped it will be.

Hm 6 weeks away, that's enough time to actually practice and amybe get kind of decent again.

Or I could go play ninja gaiden.

for some strange reason, Andy would rather stay at Ryans, and (no offence to Ryan) Steven's place is much more comfortable, so i am happy. (as long as this is ok with you guys).
do you think that someone else could let Dan (Rayne) stay with them (thats presuming he wants to come)?

Was checking train times from Leeds to Edinburgh. Seems there's a GNER service that arrives Edinburgh 12-noon and departs 20.05 same day.

I'm not suggesting you and Andy take this train but if there's accomodation problems for any new folk making the trip this would be another option for them to consider (still a good 7 and a half hours VF).

Well graeme said he's probably be able to host someone overnight so perhaps he can give rayne somewhere to sleep.

In regards to shoulderbuttons it is what I would consider a bit of a 'dirty' way to play but I don't really mind if folks want to do that as long as they're using typa a or type c controls so the pads an be easily switched with sticks without having to go to the controls screen.

If andy stays here he has to make me go to bed this time, I was totally wrecked on the sunday last time.

someone could stay at mine, as long as they don't mind sofa.

if anyone wants to come up here tomorrow afternoon they're more than welcome to. I'll be up and about around 1.30-ish.

Stroppa you little gem! you think it would be cool for Dan to stay at yours? he wont cost you any money, he is really CHEAP AND HE USES SHOULDER BUTTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i cannot promise that Andy will make you sleep, he is obsessed with that big gunship game (steel battles or something?), so he will most probably nag to play on that......

Steven, is it still ok for me to stay at your place. will i still be able to borrow that sleeping bag?

Cheers, I'll let you know nearer the time. If we get more players perhaps a PS2 but if it's the usual crowd then probably nowt.

Would that be Ninja Gaiden by any chance?

I saw it the other day and was briefly tempted. As nice as it looks I'd probably only play for a few hours then get bored....unfotunately that's a persistent problem with me and single player games at the moment.

It took me a few hours to get into it really. Died about 7 times or something in the first level alone but things gets a lot easier once you upgrade your sword and start countering. Some of the save points are spaced really far apart though, like the one on the ship to the boss and the first one in Tairon which is like 30 minutes away. Just now I'm on chapter 8 pwning everything with all my elixers maxed out as I haven't had to used them. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    Re: Edinburgh VF

The problem with Ninja Gaiden, is there isn't really anything you haven't seen before. So the hype that the game garnered prior to it's released it's very much unfulfilled. It's a good game though, the camera is utter wank, but the combat system is nice enough to never really get boring.

Yea, it does look very derivative in many ways, but I'm sure enjoyable when you get into it, as Mr Dark seems to be proving.

For me the only games on the horizon I know I'm going to play are:

    Halo 2
    Doom 3

    and of course...

Final Tuned (fingers crossed it makes it to Jap PS2)

Messed about with some Evo last night, and I think for the first time ever started really looking out for throw counterable moves against the CPU. I think this will help my game a bit come next gathering. We'll see...I aim to be better prepared next time anyway.

Stroppa, what're the chances of an evening session at yours between now and July 3rd? That's such a long time away.

Pretty slim I must admit. I doubt 5 of us would squeeze into Ryan's room either.

    Anthony? what about your place?
