Man I don't understand why you would consider "officially retire from VF". I know you don't have much time practicing and playing at the moment. Me neither. But lacking time for practice is not a good reason to quit a game. You can always pick the game up once every month or so and have some fun, without practice it everyday. People quit a game because they don't enjoy it anymore. But from last time we play together the matches were all very tense and you seemed to be still enjoying it. So why make such a strong statement so early? Would you pick it up again if FT come out on PS2, or VF5 eventually come out?

yeah, seriously, don't give up on VF, just take a breather from it, and pick it up in a month , don't throw the game away totally. you have mastered the most annoying fuck on the game, so you have a natural advantage. (i'm really pissed off at Kage, his throw game is one of the best, and all of his strikes are safe and half circular with evading properties, so i find it really hard to hit the little prick!).
i heard that you did well when you went to London with Andy a month ago, so don't give up altogether.

I took Faded's remarks as fairly throw-away, I don't think he seriously meant he was giving up on the game.

Btw EV2, now I understand your obsession with the lack of red bricks in Edinburgh. Those photos from the Leeds gathering demonstrate the predominance of this building material down your way /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I meant to say, it was cool of you and Andy to host the London guys after that fiasco in Manchester. I really felt sorry for them after what happened, especially after their long journey up from the big-smoke. Looks like the day was saved however.

Calm down everyone, don't worry, I don't plan on breaking my evo disc and sticks or anything like that.

Saying that I really don't have the time or inclination for vf that I used to, I doubt I'll ever manage to travel for vf ever again.

That and the main enjoyment from the game for me was constantly improving my own skills, and now that I feel I'm starting to get worse rather than better it's just not that much fun for me anymore.

edit - of course when i say vf, im talking about evo specifically.

If you're quiting I'll be quite happy to look after your Real Arcade stick. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thought FT would out last our patient with Evo anyway. We have been playing solidly for over a year. Theres always other things to play like 3rd Strike and Outrun2 anyway. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nobody up for vf today then? Le shame. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

In terms of competitive game, about the only real interest I have on the horizon is halo 2 which has actually got me considering live.

This is all just part of 'getting a life'. I have found, that the more of a social retard you are (like me), the higher your appreciation of computer games.

You will get back into VF when FT comes out over here. (that's assuming it will).

Bloody Roar 3...i'm sure that's not too pish you know...

anywho, if anyone wants to play VF this week then you're more than welcome at my place around the usual-ish 6.30 time.

I'm too poor to buy new games but if any of you want to bring some then that'd be great.

I do have US SF Anniversary collection now, 3rd strike and HSF all in one handy package.

Nah, 'quality' would be that fighter with the kilted Scot firing fireballs from his arse...

I'm going to try and make Wednesday but can't confirm yet.

As for serious suggestions for alternative games, how about:

VF2, VF3tb or Soul Calibur 2? The so-called perfect port of VF2 should be out on PS2 soon.....that'll be worth a play.

Just wanted to randomly point out we did get 9 hours+ of games in before the trouble happened. That's twice the time it took for the drive up to Manchester.Plus some of us had been playing nearly all thursday and friday too. Furthermore peeps who travelled had a free roof over their heads for the night and use of the facilities.

    Ahh...

no one's coming to Graeme's on Wednesday because something has come up. Sorry guys.

Will definitely have you round next wednesday (need practice before going to Leeds).

Practice all you want, little man! You don't stand a chance against my newly found stance-watching skills. I am now able to recognise stance, but by the time I have reacted to the recognition, I have messed up the combo because it takes me ages to remember which combo is for which stance!!!
Ah well, I'll keep practicing, I'm sure to get it down sooner or later...
Btw, Gray Ham, do you use anyone other than Lei Fei yet? gow about Li, has he improved with Lau at all?

Fantastic. The resemblance to modern day highlanders is uncanny. Such is his realism you can almost imagine his very words, spoken with a grave yet wavering timbre:

“Aye, laddie…unleash the dreaded fire fr’ay under yer kilt….tis the highland way!â€Â

After seeing this my vote goes towards a psychopathic Scottish wrestler for one of VF5's new characters....called Barry Somerset.

I forgot I was going to a gig this wednesday (bloc party, nice...). So that means no VF again this wednesday evening, and I'm really sorry. I really need the practice before I go to Leeds with Li and I don't think I'll get a chance now so I'll just have to take my defeats on the chin that weekend.

I promise normal service will be resumed soon, assuming you guys are interested.
