Do you want to talk about this?!
Sambo is one of the most effective and pragmatic fighting style in the world - it is the quintessence of the most effective moves from several fighting styles like Judo, caucasian fighting styles and some striking technics in all-in-one style, which is very harmonious, balanced and very practical at the same time!
...Like Russian\soviet hockey that is very fast\rapid and strong in attack and individual skills of players, ...This is (but not the "bear style") the case of :
Team Russia ahead of Canada, whith great respect to Canadians players, (25 vs 24 champion titles)and on the first line in a rating of IIHF. This classification takes into account the intervention teams at the last Olympics and four world championships.

    Rating IIHF
    1. (2) Russia - 3200 points

    2. (1) Canada - 3160

    3. (3) Sweden - 3095

    4. (4) Finland - 3050

    5. (6) United States - 2915

    6. (5) Czech Republic - 2915

    7. (7) Switzerland - 2725

    8. (9) Belarus - 2660

    9. (8) Slovakia - 2635

    10. (11) Latvia - 2610

    SORRY FOR OFFTOP =)

Good one. I thought the name Max Donovan would suit this fighter. I can imagine his outfits from A to E as different types of suits since bartitsu is considered a "gentleman's fighting style."[/size]

Virtua Fighter = martial Arts fighting and boxing is not a martial art. I think Brad is as close as you are going to get in that area. Just as someone mentioned earlier adding a tae kwon do character, well Sarah has that covered in her fighting style.

Also, sadly its highly unlikely we will get tons of items like we all want as well. Surely lots of items are arcade exclusive. That might be part of the draw to the arcades. The Japanese VF5 on consoles didnt get any exclusive items that the other regions didnt afaik.

We should just cross our fingers on getting the game and every thing after that is just an added bonus

There is also a female boxer in KoF named Vanessa

    Korean Karate = Martial Art

    Tae Kwon Do = Sport

Jeffry's Pancration I think might qualify as a sport too. Goh does Judo which is a sport. Pro Wrestling is not a martial art.

Yo Blanco Diablo, you might want to adjust your post:

    Boxing Is A Martial Art

Do you still want to exclude boxers [IMG]

    @Libertine, I'm Afraid:

Tae Kwon Do Is A Martial Art (and sport)

Martial Art is a pretty broad category, that includes more than you probably realized [IMG]

Tae Kwon Do came about in the 1970's I believe. Sometimes Korean Karate is called Tae Kwon Do when it isn't. Yes, Tae Kwon Do may be taught as a martial art. When I think of it taught that way, I think of guys who kick high and punch mid, and who wear that chest equipment that offers little protection from attacks.

Which martial art they base any new character on is not important, what IS important is how a new character will add something new and individual in terms of game play.

I was talking to Seidon a couple of weeks back saying I think they should add a boxing character in VF where the majority of the moves have on hit timing.

TBH the game is lacking a windmill fighter.
