Sentinel is now the worst character in the game. The biggest hitbox that can be instant overheaded by the entire cast into a combo that will do 60%+ with no meter and probably kill him with meter. He had a good assist but now one assist punish will take him out of the game and his assist stays out there forever. Everyone's already gone into the lab in order to find how to beat him so he was getting worse as time went on anyway. People will just snap him in more than before so they don't have to deal with his X-factor and he will lose since he's constantly in 50/50 situations with no health now.

This is what happens when people make knee-jerk reactions regarding game balance a month into the games life.

 

Worst in the game is a stretch, imo. He still good in the air, still godlike DHC, still intense in xfc 3, and counter cross over harddrive. If someone is calling drone assist, they need to be covering him anyway, covering him would depend on what kind of hypers the character is capable of in the matchup.

Now he's more a support character, which is how I think he should've been anyway. Solely a supplement to a team, instead of him being the team, and its crutch.

btw, I think I'm going to change my team order, taking Wesker off point.

I'm running Jill, Dante, Doom now. DHC trick isn't a broken as I hoped it'd be. It basically takes 3 meters and replaces her lvl3 which is a speed up super and allows Dante to combo for about as much damage as a lvl 3 would net me. I think Jill is really good, you just gotta play her carefully.

Her cr.B and Feral Crouch C beat Tron assist clean. The Feral Crouch C is a dragon punch move with 11 frames on invincibility. Also her air gun super will beat or trade with Sent HSF in her favor.

To be honest from the timing of the patch it seems they already had the nerfs in mind... I think it's a bit of a cop out giving him lower health... but what else could they do?

I suppose Capcom have the power to patch now.. Make it interesting

 

I don't think they needed to give him lower health. all of the anti-sentinel strats that were being created were taking care of him already. They could have toned down his damage so that he didn't have life + damage with an x-factor boost but the life change seems way too drastic to me.

Of course, this comes from someone who's never played the game, just watched matches so....whatever.

 

Jill's feral crouch C is probably going to be one of her best pressure tools period. Easy confirm off of it into jumping combos, or just cancel it and do it again before she even leaves the ground.

Yo I'm going to put Taskmaster on point now, and try to see if I can find some unblockable setups with his spidey swing and deadpool slice and Wesker low shot. Then when Deadpool comes out, I'll DHC trick into Wesker or Taskmaster. So I need to hit the lab next time I play.

OH nice!! couple of MvC3 players here. If anyone wants to play i have MvC3 on X box live and about all toher fighter on both consoles.

OH and Slide with searching for unblockable with Deadpool and Wesker in conjonction with Task's spidey swing you mean using spidey swing to get airborne and then using a jump attack with those assist? As far as i know spidey swing can be blocked crouch. Unless of course im wrong.

 

Yeah !! It's still possible to do it on Arthur and Viewtiful Joe. Im pretty sure they kept it on two characters on purpose. Can't believe they didn't test it on all characters after patching it.

 

Yup your definitely right, but I'm pretty sure task can call his assist at any point during the swing, and be airborne afterwards. So in other words he's not looking to make an unblockable solely with the swing.

I was playing yesterday and got to see a nasty She-hulk and Haggar. She-hulk took awhile to get adjusted to, she has a glitch(not really a glitch though) to extend her air comboes, but overall it's important to look out for command throws. Haggar in particulat has a way to reset you in mid-air with a combo and use his anti-air throw to continue a loop, which I haven't found a way out of, but mashing a super or something might work.

On the patch though, Sentinel wasn't that great imo, he had a VERY tough time getting people off of him when they're doing regular jump magic or Akuma doing air tatsu's to his grill. He has some VERY bad match-ups, against characters like X-23 and Zero; so bad, there's almost no purpose and putting him on the screen when they're aronud.

I'm really feeling Iron Man right now though, I think his rush is nasty.

 

For me its the fact that pretty much every other alternative is a 2D fighting game, and those just aren't my thing.

I dont like the feel of those games and its not because I havent tried.
