Yeah thats True about balancing issues but still are still some questionable things here. From what i see. the assist still helps but the characters do so much damage on there lonesome its freightning. Once again im taking up Captain,Skrull and Arthur just from old different shit today. My little bro copped but his 360 got RROD so he let me rock for a while. I will spend some time with Dormammu too cause i like his evilness in the comics. I hope somewhere in time the DLC will have Daredevil in there somewhere along with a shadowhawk or characters from marvel who didnt get notoriety.

Same, balance is VERY important to me, ESPECIALLY with a game SO FOCUSED on characters.
OH MY FAV MARVEL CHARACTER IS IN THE GAME oh wait hes not storm or sentinel or magneto, guess I can't play him... completely ruins the point of having all these characters in the first place.

The question is now, should I really devote SO MUCH TIME to learning a new video game and not spend time doing stuff like programming the game I'm trying to make.. hmm.....

also is capcom really known for balancing games? like the tier list for sf4 and ssf4 was it different?
also how was the balance in tvc?

I seem to enjoy it very much actually although it's taking me a hell of a long time to get used to the TvC controls. Graphics and music are satisfying to my ears and online play has been pretty smooth even though I haven't won a match yet.

    Teams so far:

    Chun-li/Chris/Zero
    Storm/She-Hulk/Phoenix
    Wesker/Chun-li/X-23

    All need work of course.

I finally have another game to relieve me of playing VF in all the time of 360 when good players aren't around. The only hard part of the game for me is getting my second team to sync with each other. My main team of Dante/Spiderman/ Ironman is pretty good so far but I haven't played online yet. Dead Pool/Chun/Zero is my second team don't seem to work right but it will take some time to figure it out. I have alot of buddies I can play with in my area on and offline too making it a priority to get this game basically.

The game and the controls are simple but I don't care the game is all about playing each other deep down the masher friendly game overall doesn't take away from the game any at all either.

I think its of the upmost importance to learn matchups (yes, sf2 style) in this game. There's most definitely some tactics in the game that are very strong, but there's ways around them. This game might come down to straight up counter-picking in some cases.

Your assist can die just as fast in this game as they did in Marvel 2 so you gotta be careful. Actually it seems like a character appearing on the screen as an assist loses health much faster than the characters in contol.

Ground footsies alone can be tough to learn at first, pushblocking is cool but you don't want to pass up punishment opporutunties. There's alot of supers can chip out alot (especially with x-factor) and are safe... i find myself letting people burn their meter out before i start rushing up.

Everyone is still in the learning phase, but my team right now is b-viper/b-trish/b-amy. I'm working on developing a lame squad.

    @Cozby:
Assists don't benefit from damage scaling in the same way as your on point character. So catching beam supers or, God forbid, getting caught by a launcher absolutely murders them.

I've had the game since Teusday but have only spent a couple of hours with it so far. Seems nice but all those quarter circles and dp motions are murder to me as I've never been consistent with those (stick or pad doesn't matter, I'm bad on both, keyboard works rather well for me, I might be tempted to invest in a Hitbox).

I'm toying around with Thor, IronMan, Morrigan and Doom. Characters I'm looking to check next are Trish and TaskMaster.

Still, I never played Marvel so the frantic pace is quite a switch for me.

Also keep in mind that characters have an individual life total.

Phoenix has the worst health in the game (420,000), she has almost half the health of the next lowest health person in the game (800,000). [IMG] But she can resurrect if you have 5 hyper bars into Dark Phoenix which is probably the strongest character in the game.

Sentinel has the most at 1,300,000. [IMG]

Hey is there any really good players that have youtube channels to see how the gameplay is developing competitively?

I know everyone probably expects me to say this, but I'm gonna say it anyway... I like this game a lot, and I've been liking it more and more as I've put some hours into it. Also, from reading the SRK "MVC3 Super-Guide" I've been getting more into some of the depth of the game; I've been pleasantly surprised how nuanced each character that I've delved into so far seems to be.

Does anyone know if the Street Fighter development team is the same, or at least close to the same, team the makes the VS games? One thing that really impressed me as I started to look a little deeper into the mechanics of each character was the re-realization (because I've realized it before but then sort of forget) how creative the Capcom guys are -- it's pretty genius IMO. Just to give one example of what I'm getting at: Haggar's lariat has some good invincibility, but they balance it out by having the move cost some life, just like it would in the original final fight beat em up.

I think Capcom did a great job with the characters and gameplay of MVC3.

The characters I've been working on the most are MODOK, Thor and Haggar. All three of them are very cool and interesting so far.

As far as I know most of the SF and VS games were made by different teams.

I've been playing this. Very fun game so far, even when I'm losing to gl0ry's Dante-Sent craziness. The team I'm currently running after trying out like half the cast is Felicia / Dante / Modok.

Felicia has a 1 frame command throw that I can kill low health characters off of with enough meter and some cool anti pushblock stuff I've found that leads into mixups.

Dante has a ton of high damage combos but I think after his teleport shenanigans wear off he'll have trouble scoring damage since he doesn't have a fast overhead. I think people should just wait him out when they are fighting him.

I think Modok has the potential to be one of the best characters in the game. I've found some pretty strong analyze cube loops off of mid-low mixups in the corner. He can launch if the enemy jumps in and he las a lp analyze cube down with some pretty strong zoning tactics. He can sit at the top of the screen like storm could in 2 and run out x-factors (kinda unsafe against a lot of the cast though). He has a 4! frame overhead that leads to launch and a loop in the corner. His biggest flaw is he only has a single low attack and it's 15 frames(slow for a capcom game).

The biggest problem with the game so far is lvl3 x-factor. It does way to much damage and is the reason I have 1 loss in ranked match.

I watched a vid on with justin using Storm and Chun assist. It looked like MVC2 all over again SMH.

@Gernburgs - what game you don't like lol! Im trying to like this game but im starting feel like i been here and done that before. People is gunning for the same combo and it pays off quite easily.
