I find this game very, very fun and addictive to play, but it's also very difficult for me... I lose a lot more than I win but it's been a learning experience regardless.

The one thing I would criticize this game for is the OTG combos... I think there's too many OTG combos, or that they're too easy because of the time you stay knocked down -- I wish there was a better way to get up. When I play against some people's X-23 it's just annoying after the 10th time they knock you down and OTG into super, it should be at least a little harder than that IMO.

    Still a dope game though.

I'm also having some problems with the teleporters because I still haven't figured out how to punish them for doing it. So many people use Wesker and the dude is just everywhere all at once.

Well, as others have mentioned, this game appears to favour rushdown, so keep away is actually pretty hard to pull off well against the better players. I think that keep away is a valid tactic, even if some people don't like it. It's like outboxing as compared to in-fighting. I'm not running away. I'm hitting you from where you can't hit me, and if I keep hitting you, that seems fairly aggressive to me.

What I like is that if you're rushing someone down(or locking them down with projectiles), you're gaining a lot more meter than they do blocking. Thus the more aggressive player always has the advantage. The guy waiting things out always loses out, so you don't get those staredowns you do in games like SF4 Honda vs Honda.

Also, many Supers are vulnerable on startup so you can't use them reliably as a get out of jail free card when in a blockstring or on wakeup. Granted there are some characters with Supers that do have the invulnerability, but it's at least not across the board. It allows people to have greater flexibility during their attack because there's less chance of LOL Tiger Destruction!! in your face after your hard earned knockdown.

At the moment though, there do seem to be some matchups which can be a bit one-sided. Dorammu vs anyone with a teleport, Haggar vs strong keep away characters, Anyone vs Level 3 X-Factor Sentinel. :p In the end, picking a good team combo might be what makes or breaks a player, as opposed to just wanting to play your favourite characters and win with them. That's a bit of a downer for the casuals like me.

.... and I need to learn to punish teleports too.

My team consists of constant gun shots. It's difficult to play keepout game with a lot of characters that aren't named Arthur or Ryu, cause they got crazy durability points on their projectiles.

I finally settled onto a team that works really well with each other, as well as using characters that I actually like and also keeping it fanboy with my fav comic character, and who they'd probably team up with too ha ha.

It also helped me to deal with my own personal weakness of teleport characters.

To play keepout with a team like this though it requires great reaction and tactical decision, cause there's some big holes in it but my team design has the ability to cover the hole I think my opponent is trying to blow through.

Sorry for the bad quality, but if you use Iron Man, Super Skrull, Chris (I do), or Dante (tried, 'cause he's cool, but I'll stick with him in DMC, that's it) and you missed the video on Eventhubs... here are some sick combos from Japan [IMG]

    I'm using Felicia-a Chun-y and Modok-y.

I'm not sure if those are the correct letters so it's rolling buckler which helps modok do unblockable setups. Chun's lightning legs which lets felicia combo into cat helper with enough time for it to walk near them before the combo ends. And Modok with psionic blast.

I'd really like to see someone with your execution skills play MODOK. Play sometime? MODOK anchor is like unheard of.

    Right now it's Deadpool-b, Trish-a, Taskmaster-a

    But I'm thinking about changing it now to, Deadpool-b, Magneto-?(probably a), Trish-a

Yeah, we can play. Modok zoning game is really strong, but you probably wont see big combos to often cause I don't know how to land them to well yet : D.

    I may have to drop felicia though. She's a mid-throw character in a mid-low world : (.

Why the change of heart on Task? I'm sort of torn on the master because he seems so dependent on the swing to get in.
My main team is Deadpool-a,Doom-b/c,Task-C. I want Modok-C/Doom-b/Dorm-B to be my main but my MODOK is a bit wanting though I'm starting to get better at it.

I actually use MODOK as either a starter or anchor, he's actually pretty solid as far as I can tell. He's certainly not easy to use, but I'm getting the hang of it and have been able to really frustrate people in certain games. His projectile is actually god-tier IMO, it'll crush Ryu and Arthur pretty badly if they want to engage in a fireball war, also, using the different strengths of the move can confuse and pin people down pretty effectively.

If you have them locked down, you can make it difficult to escape the corner by throwing out the medium and heavy beams, but mix them up with light beams to screw with their timing. The light projectile comes out quickly compared to the mid and heavy making it hard for them to time their escape by jumping out. The heavy beam does pretty serious damage and you can even use an S-beam if you land an analysis cube (also a really nice move); the S-beam will hit-stun long enough to combo another light beam. I've also noticed that his medium strength normals also do chip damage.

I'm not sure I've ever played another MODOK yet, almost no one seems to use him. But, I feel like I play against Dante more often than not and find him difficult to deal with, especially because the range of his normals is huge. A lot of people also use Wesker who can be a pain as well. He has a fast teleport that seems murderous off a 2-in-1, especially online, and he has a super that's gotta be one of the most effective in the game; it can even switch sides on you somehow so it can be close to impossible to block.

As far as the unblockables, I'm not sure they really exist, they may be extremely hard to block but they don't seem truly unblockable as far as I can tell. C. Viper has an overhead assist, but if you hit low at the same time, the CPU set to 'block all' in Training Mode can still block both attacks every time. Whether a human player can do the same is debatable though.

    My Current team is:

    MODOK - y assist (beam)
    C.Viper - y assist (burning kick - overhead)
She Hulk - y assist (Clothesline I believe, but I go back and forth with her somersault kick as well.)

Task's swing is good, but with the right setup, he can wavedash in and get a high/low mixup to either b+H to delayed S launcher, or in this case, the swing... With this option, you can bait an attack if b+H is blocked by using his counter, or counter super if desired... It's great, but its not a be-all-end-all with him...

Task is my lead most times when I'm playing online, because I my real Biocom combos are ridiculously hard to pull off consistently online unless there's virtually no lag...

Anyone here with Doom as lead??? I have him on my alt team (Gouki, Arthur/Doom) but I use Gouki as lead for overhead/crossup mixups to some loop combos, and I want to have a 3rd team with Doom as lead... Any suggestions???

Deadpool being the driving force of my team, he can zone or get in for some rushdown. Against a lot of matchups I end up having to zone the entire time, and my team is too assist reliant, even though I'm smart about their usage. When I tag Taskmaster in, it ends up becoming the same thing.

My team just has a hard time with making comebacks. I won't drop Deadpool cause I'm a fanboy. I'm considering dropping both Taskmaster and Trish, in favor of Magneto and an assist that allows me to get in and can confirm combos off of, like how people would run Psylocke in 2... for that I'm looking at Akuma or Chun, but there's all these other assists out there that haven't been figured out yet. I haven't played or been in the lab in a day in a half, I realize I don't even play as often as most people so I'm inconsistent.

Earlier on, I was thinking that I NEEDED certain assists to help deal with some mixups, when I couldn't block correctly. Now, it was just my lack of experience in the game. I would have trouble with opponents that call assists and then teleport, but I think there's a universal way of dealing with that, and that's playing in the air. Not sure yet though.

EDIT: I got the guide, and I can just look at the startups and active time of assists and read about if they have invulnerable startups and such. That guide is the best fighter guide I've ever seen.

On a fanboy note this game hits a lot of chords with me. Deadpool/Task are 2 of my favorite characters. Granted Task wasnt high on my list until his interaction with DP/agent x in the comics. There arent many characters I can say I dont like except she-hulk and x-23. (never was a fan of alternate versions in comics) Even then I dig them in game.

Wait, Modok has an S blaster? Nice, his blast has godlike priority but without cubes its probably the weakest in the game. I could be wrong.

Yeah, watching the stream helped me to understand, how to get out of certain traps and setups, especially teleport stuff

Nothing. Taskmaster is a favorite of mine. Just because I dropped him doesn't mean I don't like the dude. It's just I want to play differently.

This game struck me huge on a fanboy note, just adding Deadpool alone, but She-Hulk too, it's crazy. I was introduced to Taskmaster via Deadpool comics myself, that's how I became a fan of him.

The entire roster to this game, has nothing but likable additions. Only thing about it is that they didn't add enough.
