I don't mind the lvl sync until they sync me down 1 to 2 lvl. It still not as bad as I used to be with all the diable 2 players saying things like " taru's can't be warriors. your stupid."

thats like ppl that say galka can't play good mages... i've seen one guy keep a party going without really getting much hate or having to mp wait... there are quite a few "closed-minded" players... i've proved that dancers can tank, main-heal, and play the "voke" role numerous times... i've also proven that rng/thf is just as good as rng/nin and that /nin isn't needed for everything...

Thats what makes the game so great. you don't have to follow a race or job spec or tree. you can be unorthodox.

you should check out the job faq on ffxiclopedia the top ones are very useful.

Warcraft III mod, where you play teams of heroes...
games last around 40 mins/1 hours, are 5 vs 5 players, there's a choice of 93 heroes that you level up and stuff with buyable items. The goal is to destroy the opposite base. Requiers team synergy & teamplay, a good team composition etc.. as MMORPG PVP.
But you just dont have only one avatar since you have a new lvl 1 hero each game.

it can be a grind if u let it, but there's so many ways to level up quickly... plus there's many ways to get items to sell and there are more events to do now... there's a gangload of endgame events as well...

Yeah I loved a lot of the things FFXI had, but the grind was just stupid when I was there. Oh and the rampent gold farmer / sellers was a bit of a killer too. Anways, All that to say I have high hopes for XIV.

this made me think. I haven't played any other MMO's, but i just realized that one of the things i like about WoW is you never have enough gold to have everything u want. Well, u probably do eventually, but i've played quite a bit (for me anyhow, a lvl 38 and lvl 29--not much by wow standards i suppose), and a lot of my time has been devoted to arbitrage at the auction house, and i have made quite a bit of gold for my level and time investment. Yet still, i can wipe out my reserves in seconds buying upgrades to my equipment. This is so refreshing from standard offline RPG's where within 30-40 hours you have a surplus of gold you can never spend, and just keep amassing more and more.

Thats the same with PSOBB and FFXI. No matter how much money you make, once you buy the armor/weapons for your current (or next) level, its all gone. And you still need more money for the rest of the stuff you need.

RMT are always on every MMO I've come across. I've played 2Moons for a bit, and they were there as well. Its not as prominent on PSOBB, or PSU, but I do notice them on Silkroad, Granado Espada, and some of the other MMOs I've attempted to play.

Granted, but in FFXI you had an army of them called stuff like RedApple1, RedApple2, RedApple3, RedAppleEtc doing nothing but being a nuissance.

Lol all this XI talk. Really did enjoy the game despite its flaws and gilsellers. Have friends returning trying to get me to come back but gonna hold off on anymore MMOs till 14 is out.

I used to play as well, there can't possibly be enough quests etc to actually level to 75 solo or with a small party in any kind of reasonable time frame can there?

I quit that game after about 1500 hours, it was just too hard & tedious to get anything done, basically no way to level without a group of 6 beyond level 10, and too many close minded players... I remember waiting for 3 days for a party in Jeuno...

when I used to tell WoW players how you could fail at crafting, and loose rare materials, they though it was so insane.

you can duo alot more now, and in some cases, trio... there are forums and pages that talk about spots to duo... you can solo as most of the jobs now... blm, bst, nin, dnc, war, rdm... it just depends on the sub u have and if u have decent to good enough gear
