I beta tested Ultima Online as well as Eve Online. That was fun for a few weeks

 

I played Anarchy Online for 7 years or so. Guild all moved on to WoW, I play it occasionally just because that's where my friends are, but I hate that game. I dabbled in Warhammer, was pretty neat when it came out. I really liked the Public Quest system. Guild collapsed, I quit playing. Eve Online is great, but I am realizing that I just don't have the time for MMOs anymore and never got past the free trial.

I doubt I'll play another one.

 

any FTP mmos out there that are any good?

Hey guys I've been playing atlantica for a lil while now
im Level 48 and i have to say its alot of fun!
there are ALOT of cool things in it that i have never seen in an MMO.

firstly, the combat is VERY tactical later in the game (by later i mean past the beginning lol). The character choices and stuff for ur team can be very different, almost an unlimited potential of strategies that could work since you can have such a diversity of characters in your team. Even one move can make a huge difference in a fight too, with things like stun etc. The boss fights (even regular fights) are quite challenging, you might have to try a few times to beat a boss, or die a few times on normal mobs. It is also highly recommended u have a party, or else ur fucked if u get ganged by multiple enemies.

secondly, there are ALOT of lil things to make money that are fun like-
1. Betting- You can bet on comp controlled arena battles which are very fun, and fun to watch (although the AIs are pretty stupid so its frustrating, but the unperdictability and the fact that you got money riding on the outcome makes it very exciting)
2. Crafting- You get the materials (usually just buy them) and then u have to kill monsters until the thing is made, good way to get more motivation to fight and makes fighting very addicting
3. PVP- you can actually make a decent amount of money in pvp, i doubt its enough by itself though lol
4. business strategies- There are alot of business strats u can do to make money. Like I've bought items, resold them for more money, bought them-upgraded-sold for more, etc, its pretty fun lol
5. treasure maps- You click a treasure map, it appears somewhere and you have to run to it within 5 minutes, interesting lil thing
6. i dunno im sure theres more...

I dunno i just like the vibe of it alot more then other MMOs (the main one being WoW which i tried a few years ago got to the max level and everything). Instead of PTP MMOs which have alot of stuff thats just meant to make you play ALOT, like grinding,making you do the same dungeon over and over, making u pvp for HOURS AND HOURS to build up faction points etc, FTPs are designed to simply be fun which is nice.

AND PS. best music I've ever heard in a MMO (although i haven't played that many).

Yeah on PS3. I'm not a fan.

 

It's pretty good imo... I liked it way better than Two Worlds (too broken), and Fable 2 just put me to sleep (plus no multiplayer)...

Actually, there are quite a few... I'm not a fan of Silkroad Online, GuildWars (level cap too low, and alot of noobs are on there now), Maplestory (traveling takes too long), CoH/CoV (no real sense of importance in a party... I can't remember the other ones, but I hate quite a few mmorpgs...

 

I hate wow. Its the halo of mmo's
